According to what I researched, the Tracker class worked more or less like this and soon Nimir confirmed things for me:
Tracker - Master of the Wild: Gain additional bonus experience when following trails, hunting prey, and navigating through the wilderness.
Parameter: Dexterity - Increases your Dexterity by one point per level.
Active Skills: Trail Reading - Expertly follow tracks and signs left by creatures, allowing you to determine their movements and behaviors. This skill enhances your ability to locate prey or avoid potential dangers by recognizing subtle clues in the environment. Cost: 2 Mana per minute.
Honed Senses - Heighten your awareness of your surroundings, allowing you to detect hidden threats and track targets more effectively. This skill improves your ability to hear faint sounds and see distant movements, giving you an edge in the wild. Cost: 02 Mana per minute.
“Try to use Honed Senses and see what happens.”
Nimir nodded. Still confused since getting a class was something novel for him. He suddenly looked startled as if something had happened.
“Tell me what is happening, what are you sensing?”
“I can somewhat… perceive your aura.”
“How is it different from before?”
“Before, could just tell where you are thanks to your smell… but now I can sense more of you.”
“... That doesn't say anything… Can you sense me moving my arms?”
“No… I can tell that something is moving, but I don't know what is.”
“... We will have to do some experiments about this. Not like I assumed that this problem would be solved in a single day like this.”
We accomplished our goal for the day, so it was time to leave. We had to fight a few times, but not much of a problem was found. While we headed to the client to deliver the materials, we confirmed a few things about what Nimir could do now… first of all, the skill Honed Senses had a limited range, and I figured out it would increase with each level up.
Second of all, it was mentally taxing since he didn't have much mana or mana regeneration for that matter. Leveling up the skill was a good idea and since I could help with that with my new skills, it also would benefit me as well. Still, I was more interested in the first one…
We got three Terra coins for the job and three hundred mana core points… while it seemed a lot, I paid ten Terra coins for a week at the inn with three meals. I could share a room with Nimir, but I still had to pay for him. Still, considering the earnings, it would be fine.
While we were returning to the inn, I heard his stomach growling… it looked like the lunch he ate had already been used as fuel for him to move during the afternoon. In any case, since it became a habit, he began to look around for food.
“We will be working together for a while, so you won't have to look for food in the trash… still, you have to act properly, or you will be found out.”
Although the bow could help, it was better to take our meals to the room instead of giving more chances for everyone to use Identification on him. Eventually, acting shifty like that will make us look suspicious, but no one would fear only a group of two people that hadn't done anything evil yet.
“I asked the innkeeper to bring us the meal when it is ready. It shouldn't take long…”
Nimir was fidgeting in the room since he had never been allowed to enter a building before. I wondered how he managed to survive in this cold… perhaps beastkin were a lot tougher than humans when it came to dealing with harsh weather.
In any case, I decided to take my camping gear since the room only had a single bed and there weren't other rooms available. Even if there were others, I don't think that Nimir would be able to relax or even sleep by himself.
“The bed is mine, but this isn't half bad… I prepared this to use myself eventually, after all.”
His improvised bed was ready, but he just stayed silent in the corner. Being overly friendly wasn't my style either, so I decided to focus on my own things. I could buy some materials and then use the wood from the wood golems to craft and enchant some bows. With some mana cores, I could save mana and at least make three of them a day. That much extra experience would come in handy and the money too. Enchanting them with some mana cores would also help... selling in most shops for a decent price could give us a good reputation, but I didn't want any kind of fame for now.

I was going to work with Nimir for this and the other dungeon… so giving him some proper gear was also necessary. The next class will grant him the strength parameter, and with dexterity, he will be able to fight some weak enemies. Still, that wasn't my choice to make.
“With my help, you will be able to gain six classes. While they might not solve the problem of your Hex, they might weaken it quite a bit. After that, you will be able to live a normal life and gain the strength to defend yourself… eventually.”
“Really?”
“It only depends on your hard work. Still, you need to decide what you need to do. You need to gain experience fighting, but you can also get stronger by getting and improving some crafting skills. Balancing them out is probably the best option. What do you want to do?”
“What do you want me to do?”
“You can start by developing some backbone and stop flinching and fidgeting all the time.”
He flinched when he heard that… my words were quite harsh, after all. In any case, I sighed and considered his options.
“I know someone who needs a decent bowyer, you can find work there and be paid well for it. But what are your people good at?”
“... I don't know.”
“I figured as much…”
I felt like sighing again… besides, even if he was a half beast, it didn't mean that he would have the skills of beastkin or even half of the skills of a beastkin, I was a fine example of that. I didn't read anything related to their craft when it comes to making things. Perhaps they would be good at cultivation or something.
“Let's see, with your sense of smell, you can probably find herbs and plants pretty easily. You can probably do well as an herbalist or alchemist. It only depends on you and those classes aren't hard to get. Well, think about it and decide for yourself.”
The innkeeper Lady arrived with our meals and then smiled warmly when I thanked her. I wanted to think that she was just being polite, but she kept gazing at me in a weird way… I was pretty tall, but I was only eleven. Maybe she liked guys with a shaved head. As long as she only keeps looking, it would be fine by me.
Once I finished my meal, I went to check my gear… everything needed to work to perfection in order for me to make quick progress, after all. I couldn't do many types of repairs. Some advanced enchanting classes could make enchanted items last longer, but getting them would take a long time and it wouldn't be easy since those classes were in the hands of the empire.
“It isn't like I need to learn how to forge….as long as the item is decent, I can at least add one enchantment to them, after all. As long as I have money to buy them, it will be fine.”
The hidden shooter was working fine, but I probably should get going with my next creations… I also wanted to buy more books that would teach me other enchantments, so I soon found myself in a bind wishing for all of that.
When I finished checking my gear, I noticed Nimir sleeping in the corner. He was curled up like a cat… thanks to my clothes, he didn't seem cold, but sleeping on the floor wasn't that comfortable. Resting properly would also help us work better the next day.
“I didn't waste time setting another bed for no reason… What a troublesome kid.”
He was so exhausted that he didn't even wake up when I carried him to the other bed. It made sense considering that he did a lot of things that he never imagined today… in any case, even for someone who didn't unlock the strength parameter, he was too light.
I went to my own bed and then began to think about life before falling asleep. I didn't have siblings in my previous life and in this one, I was the ignored youngest child. Maybe this was how kids feel when they look after their youngest siblings.
It wasn't a bad feeling, but it was a lot of responsibility when I was the sole person who could do that for someone else. His mother died, but I wonder what happened to his father… Speaking of unknown parents, I didn't know a single thing about my mother in this world either. Still, I couldn't be that bothered when she left me with Rayner and never went to look for me.
The next day, Nimir woke up all of a sudden and confused since he didn't feel the usual feelings when he woke up. Cold, discomfort, and hunger. He looked like he was about to crash the door and run away, but soon he calmed down when he heard me.
“It is still early and breakfast isn't ready.”
The kid's breathing calmed down and then he sat silently in the corner recalling what happened the next day. The strongest memories were the first warm and clean meals that he had in over five years… they almost seemed like a dream.
“You don't have enough mana regeneration to keep that skill active, so we will use mine instead. This tattoo will make us share my mana and you will be able to level up the skill without making you get tired. Show me your shoulder.”
Nimir didn't try to say anything. He obediently showed his arm… he was truly skinny. He was quite pale too, it made sense since the sun rarely showed itself in these parts. I chose the area of his biceps since the tattoo was a bit big, but even that was barely enough. The tattoo had the image of two claws linked together. As usual, I just put a piece of paper over the area and filled the empty spots.
You received 30 experience points.
“Not bad, I guess. Let's hope I keep getting experience as you get my mana.”
The spell was activated but nothing happened… since Nimir didn't activate his Honed Senses. Only when he did that, did my mana begin to be drained. I wasn’t getting any experience from it, though. The tattoo lasted for one hour.
“All right, even if I don’t get experience, the skills will eventually level up, that is what matters. Let’s go, we will head deeper into the dungeon today. We will gather as much of the wood as possible and then give it to a bunch of clients. We have to reach the Copper rank in five days and the Silver rank in two weeks.”
“Okay.”
“Not okay. You have to show more enthusiasm than that. It feels like you are just tagging along because you have nothing better to do. Hopefully, getting you a crafting class will help things.”
A work and a goal to reach could help someone to change their mood and behavior a fair bit. That is even more effective for kids since they tend to dream a lot about things that they want to achieve. The sky was the limit. Nimir might not become the best at something, but becoming high-level was completely possible with a bit of help.
