Knox's Journey Beyond the System
Chapter 5: Not Strong Enough

Chapter 5: Not Strong Enough

Knox was thrilled at the prospect of signing up for an academy. He had always been fascinated by the idea of learning new things and acquiring knowledge that could help him grow stronger. His father took him to the academy the next day, which was located a few hours' walk away from their house. Knox's excitement grew as they walked, and the journey passed quickly. His father told him to sign up himself since he’s an “adult” now, followed by Knox's witty reply.

Knox's heart was beating fast as he walked towards the academy head's office. He had been waiting for this moment for a long time, and now that it was finally here, he was feeling a mix of nervousness and excitement. He could feel his palms getting sweaty as he knocked on the door. A few moments later, the door opened, and a kind-looking man greeted him warmly.

"Hello, young man. How can I help you?" the academy head asked.

Knox took a deep breath and said, "I want to enroll in your academy. I've always been fascinated by the idea of learning new things and acquiring knowledge that could help me grow stronger, and I think your academy could help me achieve that."

"Of course, we would be happy to have you here," the academy head said with a smile. "May I know your name?"

"My name is Knox," he replied.

"Welcome, Knox. Your father told me that you would be signing up today, so there is no need for a resume or such. We have a variety of programs that might interest you. Would you like to take a look at our brochure?" the academy head asked.

Knox nodded eagerly and took the brochure from the academy head. As he flipped through the pages, he realized he could take many exciting courses, from martial arts and self-defense to more knowledge about the System's workings.

"This is amazing! I can't wait to start my classes," Knox exclaimed, feeling his excitement build up.

"That's great to hear, Knox. We believe that learning should be fun and engaging, and we strive to create an environment that fosters future talent," the academy head said.

Knox smiled and felt a sense of relief wash over him. He had made the right decision in choosing this academy and knew he would have a great experience here.

"Great! We are happy to have you here. Let's enroll you," the academy head said, leading Knox to the registration desk.

Knox filled out the necessary forms and signed up for his chosen courses. He was thrilled to start his new journey of learning and growth in the academy, and he knew it would be an exciting and fulfilling experience. The academy head led him to his dorm, which was almost as big as his room at home. Additionally, he saw some kids walking through the hallway. Knox could feel their energy. They were at least level 10-20. He could only guess how old they were, but they didn’t look much older than him, so he assumed they were 17. It was still early in the morning when he finished moving in, which meant he could join a class. A teacher was sent to get him, and they told him he would attend martial arts class. Walking with the teacher, he saw quite a few people walk past him, all on the same level as the previous students he saw. Knowing so many people were more powerful than him frightened Knox.

Knox stepped into the martial arts class, feeling a bit intimidated by the students who were already there. He knew he had a lot to learn, but as he watched them practice, he realized they were all on a much higher level than him. As soon as the class began, Knox was paired up with a student with years of experience.

Despite his best efforts, Knox was getting destroyed by everyone in the class. He struggled to keep up with the fast-paced movements and found himself stumbling and falling frequently. His opponent was quick and agile and seemed to anticipate Knox's every move.

Knox felt frustrated and discouraged, but he refused to give up. He knew martial arts would take time and practice and was determined to improve. He focused on his breathing, trying to calm his nerves and concentrate on the techniques he had learned.

Slowly but surely, Knox began to improve. He started anticipating his opponent's moves and responding more quickly. He became more confident in his movements and started to hold his own in the class. Although he was still far from being the best, he was making progress, and that was all that mattered.

Knox was exhausted but proud of himself at the end of the class. He had learned a lot in just one session and knew that he would continue to improve with practice and dedication. He left the class feeling inspired and eager to continue his journey of learning and growth in the academy.

After martial arts class, they were all escorted to the shower rooms.

“Hey, new guy.” Knox turned around to see a giant standing over him.

“Hello, how can I help you.”

“Don't get cocky, or else we’ll smash your head in.” Knox flinched and backed away from the guy. He didn’t want to get involved with them.

“Yeah, of course.” He quickly retreated into one of the showers to get away.

After showering, they all made their way toward The System class. Knox was overflowing with excitement. He was very curious about the system, and now he’ll learn more about it than he could ever have in any regular school.

Knox collapsed on his bed, exhausted. All the classes were more tedious than expected since they were still just teaching the basics to everyone instead of going into more complicated subjects. He tried making friends with any of the other students, but they all shrugged him off. He didn’t know why they were treating him like some kind of disease, but he was going to push through and become the strongest anyway.
