Chapter 22: Stories Told by Blades 2

It was just like back then. When Mandy and Oege farmed the Aur-Alun for the first time. Except this time, Mandy sat on the perch and it was Oege in the field of battle with the monster. Still, Mandy didn’t quite understand who destroyed the city, but all she knew was that the battle between the two was personal. It was evident, that Blackfeather and Oege’s strength were insurmountable, but Mandy clenched her fist. “I am strong…” She sat in her voice and what she said for a moment. Meanwhile, the two would fight, exchanging blows. The newfound Naysong from Blackfeather made him a much larger opponent but still made him even stronger. That and the fact that Oege’s sword remained stuck in him with his Mercy Skill.

“Mandy!” Oege messaged Mandy while dodging an attack.

Mandy's eyes shot up looking at the chat screen.

“We need to remove my sword from his heart.” she wrote. “It is imbued with a PBE: Skill that makes it impossible for him to be defeated.”

“PBE: Skill?” Mandy thought. “Is that what Vice meant? Then these players must be…” She looked to Blackfeather and then to Oege. “That means Oege is trying to take over…” The thought continued but Oege would then yell to her. “I know what this looks like but please trust me. I am not here to take over Matrice.”

Oege then explained. “His skill. The one that is preventing him from being defeated is The PBE: Skill Mercy. It is a skill that Seismic created for an event…”

She then pointed to Mandy. “How hard can you hit?”

Oege then explained. “Blackfeather skill was to be used in an event that allowed players to hit an object as hard as they could, and it would be a contest of power among all servers. It was to be called The Power Trial.”

Mandy didn’t understand completely, but she understood that the beast in front of them was more of the enemy than she was. “Oege before I help you,” she said, pausing for a moment. She lowered her eyes, clenching her teeth. “Was it all a lie?”

“Boo hoo!” Blackfeather yelled and pounced towards Mandy. “You are not worthy of this battlefield!” His monstrous body overshadowed her, and as he swiped towards Mandy, Oege darted towards her, parrying his attack once again with another sword. She then sheathed her sword and placed her hands in front of her, parting them from each other, manifesting a blade in between. “Swordsmith Skill - Pathless”. She then turned to Mandy. “Take This.”

“How?”

“Just grab onto it.”

“I can’t wield swords.”

“Don’t worry it's made just for you.”

Mandy would reach out and grab onto the sword and she would be filled with memories. “What is this?”

The memory was in another place. There was a dark luminous glow in the air. Ten members were gathered. Among them stood Oege. But the view of the event seemed to be from Oege’s sword.

“We are gathered here to speak about The next patch and what Borealis plans to do. “ The voice was coming from Mad. “We shall head to the weakest realm and conquer them and then with the masses of people we shall head to Peppermint.”

A voice came about rejecting the idea. It was Madder. “That is not a good idea, boss. We should simply head to the other realms and unify them. We could all benefit. From the class change.”

Mad would give Madder an annoyed look but then another member got up. “I don’t think Seismic intended for it to be this way.” She said under her breath.

From the vision, 3 other members would appear to separate themselves from the rest of the other members of Borealis towards Mad. One was Blackfeather and the other was a character named Eden. Madder stood in front of her guildmates as a leader in some ways.

Behind Madder, were Crypto, Nero, Oege, Hagerty, and 3 other players who appeared as shadowy figures in the vision. “Do you think they’d think Borealis, the strongest guild in the game, is coming in peace?” Mad yelled. “Of course not! You naive bunch.”

“Then we’ll show them by joining their society and being a part of their world,” Madder argued.

“You will be hunted on sight. A level 600 player would turn heads. With news of the Domination event, it will surely spark mass hysteria on the server. They will all disband and fight amongst each other for power.”

“We’ll Veil then, and how we come in peace. I don’t think…I don’t think they will band together and fight us.” Madder concluded.

“Whether you are wrong or right.” She turned and faced the hollow sky. “I don’t mind Synapsing all of them.”

“You wouldn’t there are thousands of players!” Nero yelled.

“Well, how about then? We have a vote, of who is in favour of Synapsing the server during Domination. Raise your hand.” Mad announced.

Of the group, only two raised their hands. It was Blackfeather and Eden.

“Then I assume the rest of you are against this?” Mad said, raising her HUD. “Then I guess, this guild is no longer needed.”

Each player that didn’t vote received a notification of them being kicked from the guild except Blackfeather and Eden.

“Why would you?” Crypto yelled. “We’ve been friends for so long.”

“Friends.” Mad laughed. “You are simply a means to an end.”

The air was tense and each of the players against Domination was disgusted.

“Harry, what are you doing,” Madder yelled to Blackfeather.

“This game is getting boring. I think it's time we spiced it up,” he replied.

“But your parents are coming over this week, we have no time for this. The wedding is…”

“I'm tired of them, I don't want to see them. And I’m tired of you…”

Mad began to laugh. “Well, I know of a way to help you.” She appeared between Blackfeather and Eden and placed her hands above their heads.

“What are you doing? Stop it!” Madder yelled. The group of players ran towards Mad. The screams from Blackfeather and Eden would reign through the space but it was quick. A barrier was formed by Mad, preventing the players from entering. The screams were no more. Mad then removed her hands. It was done. Both Blackfeather and Eden had been Synapsed but something was odd. Beside each of them were two other players. One was Blackfeather but the other was also Blackfeather. Eden rose and another Eden rose. “Now go to the other servers and raise havoc when Domination begins.” Tears wou;d run from Madder’s eyes.

“I won’t let you win the Domination.”

“Emelia Carter?” Mad laughed. “Why don’t you just rot already!”

“You are me, Mad! Don’t forget that.”

“I’m you but better!” Mad yelled.

The two Blackfeathers looked at each other. “I'm blackfeather!” both said to each other/. “No, I'm Blackfeather!” Mad then placed her hand on both. “You’re Blackfeather and you…” She paused in thought thinking of a name fitting for the player. “Your name will be Madsfeather.” Madsfeather kneeled. “So it shall be,” it said. She turned to both Edens. And deemed the other. “Dusk. You shall be known as Dusk.”

Although it was known that Madder was the strongest player in Borealis leaderboards it was only because Mad had done something to hide her levels. “PBE Skill: Quantum Entanglement” She then held her hands together and She then became 3 characters. Her level had been split between the three. Two in the level 300s and the last at a very low level. It was Julia. “Julia goes forth to Peppermint with Blackfeather and Eden. She then told her other beings, dusk and Madfeather to go to another server, They instantly ported out of Gorgon.

Madder and the group stood astonished and worried. ‘We need to stop her.”

“The only people who have a chance against her are us. Borealis will take her down.”

Suddenly the vision would end and Oege was parrying another attack from Blackfeather.

“Now that you are up to speed, let’s do this!”
