Chapter 15: Declaration

Arculus then leapt into the sky with Madder, entering his shadow. He flew as far as he could go in the game's sky. "Is this high enough?" Madder shook her head and they continued until they seemed to reach a graphical limitation. "Here," she said. Then Arculus recast his PBE skill. "Under the Blood Moon!" He said menacingly. Players all over the server would look up to see a blood moon in their sky. They were very confused.

"What is going on?"

The players didn't understand but continued what they were doing. Meanwhile, in each of the 4 great cities, their respective leaders sat on guard on the highest building in That city. Aluxan, on the Tower of Dydas. His city which was a starting zone had various newcomer players but also housed many mentors. The new players thought nothing of it but those mentor players all knew something was coming. This is Dydas.

In the far north, Vice's great city Juwin, would be scrambling for shade from the light. "It's okay!" An announcement through the city would adjourn. "you have nothing to be afraid of, Mainland, is here to protect you and your interest!" Even still the players seek refuge. Some even logged off.

In the far east, Diggy's great City Losember, sat in an everlasting sandstorm of the mega region. Losember was the largest region in the game. Meanwhile, The players were blessed by a warm climate yet in the heart of it, Losember's capital, The Oasis would see the Red Moon as a symbol of the GMs watching over them with the incoming patch. Players began to kneel. In the street, players were yelling. "This must be a GM event!"

"Everyone kneel!"

Players did. Meanwhile, Stood atop the Pyramid of Oatice. He knew better. The Red Moon was only the beginning.

Finally In the Southern part of the map sat the technologically advanced great city, Matrice run by Mandy. Mandy's nation had the aesthetic of a cyberpunk city except it too had many buildings and shops. Players used futuristic mounts. Players in this city knew that some player was up to something. As many players were more understanding of how the game worked mechanically. Someone was casting the Red Moon. But who could be that powerful to do that to the server? Mandy sat in her cybernetic hologram which was a space similar to the Markets in Elleon. It was a space filled with thousands of screens of places in the in-game world.

This book was originally published on Royal Road. Check it out there for the real experience.

Finally, Madder would leave Arculus's shadow. And puncture through the space that seemed to be the edge of the map. In this space, players wouldn't usually be able to exist here and be kicked out, but something allowed Madder to stay. In the distance, there was a bright Yellow object. Madder flew towards it. In space, there were no floors or gravity, just space. When she got to the object she began casting her skill. "PBE Skill, Perfect Dark." The ball of light began to take the colour black but still amber light. "It is complete."

The sky grew dark but rather, players in all regions looked up to see an eclipse where the Blood Moon used to be.

"Well this going to be interesting..." Vice grunted.

"Bring it on!" Mandy yelled.

"Challenge accepted," Diggy uttered. "If it's a fight you want, it's a fight you're going to get!"

Then a player in the middle of nowhere yelled. "Madder!" It was none other than Blackfeather. Where was he?

Madder would smile knowing that it was complete. In each of the cities, a loud noise would be made from something landing in each of the great cities. It seemed like a meteor from space. In the array of smoke silhouettes of players could be seen. Immediately players would receive notifications of players with insurmountable bounties.

An announcement would fill the sky for all players in the world. "Domination is upon you! Server Event"

Jun would look up into the sky. Aethera would pat Jun on his back but she received a message. It was from Gaston. "We need you back asap, something has happened."

"Sorry guys. I must go." Aethera said sadly and ported away

It was now just Julia and Jun by themselves. "What is going on?" Julia said. "Madder is..."

"Madder is doing what she was she came to do all along." Jun looked at her. "But we must defeat her."

"I must stop her..." he said again.
