Jason and the Foundation (Finished!)
Chapter 16: Boss Phase Two.

Chapter 16: Boss Phase Two.

Robert Bumaro had died. There was only The Builder.

"You have eluded me for too long." stated The Builder

"Yeah, I know. And I still will. He couldn't stop me and neither will you," Asano stated confidently.

"I'm going to have so much fun taking you apart."

Jason flew up and used the second function of [Inexorable Doom].

You can't escape your punishment.

Immediately, all the afflictions were reapplied. Jason noticed a large drop in speed as they started ravaging the half-healed metal and bone. Escalating exponentially, The Builder realised he was on a short timer and started using everything, heedless of the cost. Jason was hit many times and lost his head twice. Without Colin being able to instantly regenerate it, the fight would have been significantly more difficult without sight.

Jason realised he didn't need to wait for enough afflictions to be on The Builder to drain and replace. [Inexorable Doom] would stack them automatically. Draining The Builder, holy gold, blue and white started to shine out of him. But a great astral being was not easy to kill, even inhabiting a lesser servant.

Pay your sins.

[Punition]

Incantation: Suffer the cost of your transgressions.

Alternatively: Pay your sins.

Spell.

Cost: Varies.

Cooldown: Varies.

* Effect (iron): Inflicts necrotic damage for each curse, disease, poison and unholy affliction the target is suffering. This effect has a 30 second cooldown and costs moderate mana.

* Effect (bronze): Inflicts or refreshes the duration of [Penitence].

[Penitence] (affliction, holy): Gain an instance of [Penance] for each curse, disease, poison or unholy effect that is cleansed from you. This is a holy effect.

[Penance] (affliction, holy, damage-over-time, stacking): Deals ongoing transcendent damage. Additional instances have a cumulative effect, dropping off as damage is dealt.

* Effect (silver): Damage per affliction can be increased by increasing the mana cost to high, very high, or extreme. This reduces the cooldown to 20 seconds, 10 seconds or none. Consecutive, extreme-cost incantations have truncated incantations.

* Effect (gold): Boosts any bleed, blood, or poison related effects by an extreme amount for a short time after each cast.

* Effect (diamond) Gain an additional incantation. This effect inflicts transcendent damage for each holy boon and affliction on the target with a 2 minute cooldown and an extreme mana cost.

Jason hammered him with more spells as the damage sunk in. Finally, he felt the time was right.

Mine is the judgement and the judgement is death.

A beam of holy judgement descend from the heavens as The Builder lit up like a christmas tree. His body dissolved in the light as the last remnants of flesh were burned away.

Robert Bumaro has been automatically looted due to being wholly destroyed.

470 diamond rank [Iron Quintessence] has been looted.

30 diamond rank [Flesh Quintessence] has been looted.

1 [Dimensional Essence] has been looted.

Ability [Defiant] has increased loot quality.

1 diamond rank [Allsteel] has been looted.

Colin pooled out of his armour and turned into the blood clone.

"That was one of the toughest fights I've been in indirectly. Do you know how much effort it takes to replace your shitty appendages? No I didn't think so," complained Colin.

"If I died, you would have too. We are connected that closely now," stated Jason. Colin looked at him grumpily.

"Well stop putting my life in danger so much. I know every fucking god on Pallimustus wants a piece of you when we get back, none more that Fertility. But stop annoying them. You really shouldn't be doing that," Colin shot back.

Jason, ignoring him, started opening his [Astral Throne] to the area around them.

"How about you hop in the ride, before it leaves without you," retorted Jason. Colin melted into his leg with, no smart remarks this time. The [Astral Gate] was starting to fuel the temporary bridge and he needed all the concentration he could muster. Hoping it would work, he stepped through the crackling gate that had opened up.
