When the 300 years Demon-Human war ended, Red Crown was almost abandoned. It was not like what it is now.
It was simple, Red Crown was built as a neccessity. It was one of the frontier city to act against the horde of demon, as a bastion between the civilized human world and the no-man land.
Consequently, the no-man land is the place that would later become Ayva and his friends' village.
Even though it was said to be no-man land, actually, there was various pocket of human civilization that thrive there. They have to be strong, or they have to hide in the Demon land, however, they thrive.
There was various village outside of the border of the 'civilized world'. To reconnect the old connection, Red Crown was kept as a hub to connect the capital and the various surrounding village.
However, they did not extend their protection there.
While drinking with the three brothers who came to the city to register their youngest as a wizard, the topic drifted back to ancient history.
The middle brother is frustrated that the city slicker was snobby and looks down on honest country boys like Ayva and them when history has written that they are 'clearly superior' and that while the city slicker was hiding behind their fortress, the boys' ancestor was out there being real men and fighting the fight
The oldest scolded him for taking credit for their ancestor's prowess when he should be out there proving himself instead.
"You are absolutely right! I will." The middle brother yells while holding up his drink.
Meanwhile, Ayva thought about his own village and thought 'Oh men, how did they even do it?'
He thought about the ridiculous moniker no-man land and thought about his own honest village people that venerate people from the city.
'There is no way they could survive in the demon land.'
But then, suddenly, Ayva thought about how that same village produces Leonel, who was 3 times as tough as a normal human when he was a boy.
And then he thought about how Eliza was born with both the greatest spell of the Priest class and the Demonic spell 'Draw Fire'.
Ayva chokes a bit, thinking about what the ancient people puts in their gene. It was a ridiculous thought.
Never did Ayva even think about the fact that the same hometown gave birth to him too.
"What about ya partner? What are ya here for?"
"My friends wanted to become an adventurers. Now they are escorting someone to the capital. I wanted to follow them, and so now I am here."
The oldest frowns just a bit
"Adventurers? Something reckless like that? Didn't ya ma stop you on your way here?"
Ayva looks down and thought about disappointing his family
"...They actually wanted me to go and make a name for myself. They think that this is a big honor."
"Ah? But why... Ah oh well, everyone has their circumstances. This is to Ayva."
""To Ayva""
The three brothers cheer
"I WILL BECOME THE GREATEST WIZARD EVER AND GO BACK TO HELP MY VILLAGE!"
The youngest yells. This party is also for him after all. His yell attracts some passerby's attention.
"Ayva?"
----------------------------------------
Leonel was on the opposite side of the street staring at his childhood friend getting tipsy with three strange buffed men.
Each of the men has biceps the side of a trunk, and there Ayva was, sitting in the middle of them.
And yet, despite all the disparity, Ayva was having the most honest laugh Leonel has ever seen him having ever since they started their journey.
Deep down, Leonel knows that probably among those fellow, Ayva was the most dangerous of them all. He would know, he has seen Ayva's work first hand before.

Their childhood's friend was strong and sensitive to others' need. He was never demanding or bossy, always a figure that Leonel could fall back on.
The day Leonel was prophesied to become a hero, he was glad.
'Ah, I can finally protect my good friend.' At least, that was what he thought. To be honest, he wanted to become a reliable shoulder that other could lean on, just like his friend has always been for him.
And yet, it was him who relied on his friend again up to this point.
Leonel is the current generation hero.
However, Ayva was a reincarnation of a hero that has been through it all, Leonel was sure of it.
[Evra]
The other person that Ayva sometimes talks about. She must have been a legendary hero for sure, for her arsenal surpassed anything Leonel could imagine.
In this world, magical weapons was rare, it was something even an entire city could not afford. It was as rare as a demon who is kind. And yet she has countless of them. Sure, some of their enchantments were weaker than other, but to have an entire arsenal of them, just what was that ridiculous existence exactly?
Leonel knew it the moment he laid eyes on it, that beautiful sword, that [Gram] was a weapon that belongs to the hand of [a hero].
The way Ayva looks longingly at it gives it away too, it was a weapon that belongs to the hand of [Evra]. It was truly a hero's weapon through and through. It is the kind of legendary weapon that Leonel could only read from a book. Other weapons were just as legendary, however, only Gram feels truly heroic. Leonel deduces exactly that it was the personal weapon of [Evra]
And so he took it.
The disappointed way Ayva looked that day... He saw it.
It was as if he took away something that belongs to Ayva's hand personally. Evra and Ayva was the same person.
It was selfish of him, however, Leonel wanted to own it.
A part of his friend that from that day on will always be with him.
He wanted his friends to always be with him.
...And then one day, she appeared.
[Evra] herself in the flesh. Leonel has prodded Ayva before about just what kind of person [Evra] was, however, Ayva just coughed and looked away as if embarrassed.
Leonel could understand why.
Evra was a girl that does not exist in this world.
A perpetual youth that only exists in fantasy. A beauty that cannot truly be real. She was beautiful. Her eyes were the window to her feeling. Her face truly feels like a god crafted creation. It lacks a flaw. It was true perfection in the real world.
When Ayva pushed himself to the limit with those secret of his, he turned into [Evra].
To be honest, Leonel does not know how he feels about it...
And [Evra]'s personality...
She was AWESOME.
A beautiful demon hunter, she lacks mercy toward demon, and yet toward human like him, Micah and Eliza, he was kind and exude confidence. Every words she said was confident, as if she truly believes in it.
'Ah, so this is a hero.'
The way she behaves is something Leonel could only strive for because while he acts, the true hero was the real deal.
'Ayva's [Faulty Hero] title is probably the Goddess's gift to the hero. Because it is the second time, [Evra] cannot access her full power, but Ayva was amazing all the same.'
And currently, that amazing friend is opposite of Leonel.
It was as if in that world, only Leonel, Ayva and the three men existed.
He didn't hear the voice of the girl next to him, "Leonel, what's wrong?", he was already over there to break up the drinking party and dragging Ayva back.
Ignoring all the commotion and the yell that "I'm sober. I'm sober." Leonel drags Ayva right back to his room and dumps him there.
Cooling his head, Leonel looks at the closed door and says
"Hey Ayva, let's talk again in the morning."
