The landscape was magical and beautiful, but at the same time the darkness consumed everything that existed.
Some four-winged bats swarmed the airspace in the area.
Some fireflies tried to escape from other hunting insects, but most of them were not lucky enough to do so.
Trees, plants and even some flowers also adorned this part of the forest.
The sound of running water revealed a small stream that followed its natural course marked by nature. Fish and some small magical beasts swam through the waters. Some water spirits seemed to play under the crystal-clear water, emerging on marked occasions to take a breath of air.
The leaves danced with the soft dance of the night wind, even making the hair of the people sitting their dance and, as a last detail, the aforementioned people looked quite worried.
This group of three people consisted of one man and two women, each of them at least five or six years older than Christopher and the others.
“We haven’t heard from the others for a while now,” said one of two women, whom we will call A.
The one named as A was wearing the typical thief's armor, implying that this could be his profession, in addition to being a criminal member of the VARANUS organization. "We weren't supposed to separate ourselves so much and then after taking a look around we would fight again in this place."
“I don’t want to keep the bosses waiting,” said the second of them, whom we will call B. “They know very well that if we don’t deliver the reports on time, we will get into very serious trouble.”
B sighed heavily as he looked at A, “If you don’t show up in less than five minutes, I’ll go find you and I swear I’ll gut you all and just say that an Alpha-class beast ate you.”
“You are always the same, a violent woman who is not able to resist violence.” Finally, the man of the group joined the conversation, which was received by an annoyed look from both girls. We will call the man that.
What all three had in common was the characteristic clothing of thieves.
The man smiled at them and said a few words to them again, “Let’s just forget about them, when the time comes, we will leave and deliver our reports, if you don’t show up, they will simply kill you all.” Walking slowly, he approached his companions. “In the meantime, we could have some action in bed, I know you will like it” he raised his eyebrows provocatively.
B sighed rather wearily while A shook his head in denial. B spoke up, “We have too many slaves at the base that you can sleep with and do whatever you want to, why don’t you go and abuse one of them? That way you’ll stop bothering us.”
“I have already dedicated myself to testing each of the human slaves in the lair,” the man replied with a satisfied smile.
Now it was A who, sighing, dedicated a few words, “Then abuse some demihuman and stop bothering us,” A sentenced with a look that denoted annoyance, “We have told you thousands of times that we would never sleep with you, who knows what kind of sexual disease you could infect us with, we would never take that risk.”
B joined the discussion, “We are thieves and killers, but we are not stupid enough to agree to be with you. Besides, you know very well that I am currently sleeping with a middle leader of the organization.”
“You guys are missing out; you’ll never know what it’s like to taste a stud like me.” He pointed at himself, apparently these kinds of discussions occurred quite often around this trio.
…
Meanwhile another trio made up of three beautiful ladies was dedicated to observing and studying the man and the two women.
Seriously, the three of them analyzed the situation very carefully, trying not to make any sudden movements so as not to be discovered. They were Selestia, Anita and Diana who stealthily followed every movement that this scandalous trio made.
Selestia and Anita with their respective bows and arrows in hand. Meanwhile Diana carefully removed the breastplate that covered her torso and placed it in front of her. She then widened and lowered her upper garments, revealing some of the circular shape of her gentle, developing breasts.
The girls looked at each other and nodded, each of them went to their corresponding point and thus finished the operation.
Diana sighed nervously, then picked up a tiny bit of dirt and began to dirty her face and clothes, pretending to look like she had fought hard.
Her beautiful face looked really tired and even gave the impression of being hurt. With that in mind, Diana imitated the typical gestures of someone who is very tired.
…
“I’m tired of hanging around this area,” said girl B, whose face reflected a certain weariness, “plus our surveillance shift is about to end and NO! I will not sleep with you.” She said this last thing with some anger in every word.
“Your loss,” he commented, winking at her.
“You two, shut your mouths already, if someone hears us it will only cause trouble for everyone…” Girl A managed to see the exact moment when the bushes moved, as if someone was about to come out of them. “Damn it, how many times have I told you to stop this nonsense, now we have more problems than we already had.”
Girl A pointed her hand forward and the thing on her forearm went from being an ornament to transforming into a cannon-shaped bolt launcher, and she was already loading it to fire it whenever she saw fit.
“It’s all your fault,” Girl B complained, in both hands she held tightly a pair of whips riddled with small, pointy protrusions that only served to cause more damage.
“Whoever it is,” the man carried a curved machete in each of his hands, a long ribbon emerging from the handle which served as an ornament, “he will only have to die, and besides, don’t forget that there are three of us, he has no chance against us at the same time.”
They gave the impression of being quite stupid, but it seems that appearances can be deceiving; their reactions to danger occurred in a fleeting period of time.
“Long-range attacker, that one over there at mid-range and finally the melee man.” Thinking of possible moves, Selestia already analyzed the situation “it seems they have combat experience. It seems that my idea was the best after all…”
The bush stopped moving, the eyes of the three people widened as they noticed and saw the person emerging from there.
“P-Please, h-help me.”
From the bush emerged what looked like a very injured young girl. She raised her face and the dirt covered not only in that area but all over her body indicated that she had recently confronted someone.
The unsheathed Katana in his hands was a clear sign of that.
Each of them examined from head to toe the young girl who, with difficulty, approached them.
That is to say, at least they analyzed the dirt and her apparent fatigue as the man dedicated himself to analyzing other things: Focusing on her legs, face and breasts.
“It's exactly how I like it,” the man said to himself, “this is the first time I'll try such a pretty young girl...”
“Please,” Diana’s pitiful voice called out, “some m-men tried to abuse me. I barely escaped, bu-but they hurt my legs.”
“Great.” Although the man seemed serious, inside he was bursting with excitement. “Then he won’t be able to escape.”
“It must have been them,” Girl B commented as Girl A nodded, “Hey you, girl, what happened to those guys?”
“I-I don’t know,” Diana replied, feigning extreme exhaustion. “When I escaped, I never looked back.”
“They have hurt you so much,” said the man approaching her and lifting her chin, “but don't worry, little girl, you are safe now, I will take care of treating your wounds and making you feel better.”
“Will you?” Diana replied, looking at him with her lovely and beautiful dark eyes, a charming aura took over her, completely capturing the man’s heart, who nodded at her with a smile, and said smile was returned by Diana, “you are my savior, thank you very much.”
“She’s just an innocent girl,” Girl B commented, feeling a bit sorry. “Her innocence prevents her from seeing that idiot’s true intentions. She doesn’t realize that she’ll soon be severely raped. Can we help her?”
“No, leave her with him, that way that idiot will abuse her and at least she will stop bothering me for a while,” commented girl A. “But it’s a shame, her attempt to escape and not be abused was totally in vain, in the end she will be abused and by this bastard, how disgusting.”
They both lowered their weapons.
“I have no doubt that you are a real man,” said Diana with a look so tender and so adorable that it was totally irresistible. It seemed that the young maiden’s dark eyes were shining, her surroundings were shining, she herself was shining and making her even more beautiful and charming than she already was.
The man could even swear he heard an angelic choir around him and some voices asking him to be with her for the rest of his life.
“I love you,” the man said, touching Diana’s soft cheeks. Just by doing that, he felt ecstasy flood through him. “You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen,” his hands touched Diana’s abdomen. “Please stay with me forever.”
The criminal seemed to be in some kind of strange trance, the pupil in his eyes disappeared and only the iris remained. His breathing became somewhat heavy but he continued to watch Diana.
He then slowly laid her down on the ground. “I will make you mine, you will always be mine, I will love you forever.” Finally, his eyes seemed to have lost their shine, being under the mercy of something.
Diana smiled.
“Unique Magic: Sweet Charm.”
Who would have thought that the jokes Christopher and the others used to make about Diana possessing some kind of unique magic would become a reality, she was born with this unique magic.
The Sweet Charm, named after her, is extremely similar to the race magic used by mortal Succubus, natural enemies of men, and Incubi, natural enemies of women.
Although Diana cannot control people like Succubus do.
Diana can go for both men and women as long as they can't resist her sweetness.
Her Unique Magic attacks the minds of her targets, making them see Diana as someone with an irresistible tenderness, as someone you would like to dedicate your whole life to and protect until it ends. Although magic itself cannot deal the final blow to its victims, she can.
As long as those who have fallen into it are in a hypnotic state, Diana can move freely and subsequently deliver the final blow.
“Do you love me?” Diana asked.
In the man's eyes, she was the most beautiful woman whose tenderness he could not describe. It seemed as if some sparkling particles were floating around her.
“I love you,” the man replied, touching her legs in the process. “You are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.” Her eyes betrayed the deep trance he was in. “I want you to stay with me forever. Don’t ever leave my side again. Please accept me.”
“He’s acting so strange,” Girl A commented, “He would never say such nice words to any woman… wait,” the air around them tensed, “this is too weird.”
“That jerk should have already molested that girl,” added girl B, “he’s not his usual self, he’s been acting that way ever since he approached that little girl…” This was the moment when the two of them looked at each other with wide eyes.
Girl A turned her gaze back to those two as she prepared her weapons, girl B did the same “he must have been drugged”.
“Ultimately,” Girl A added again, “that girl had to have drugged him, and most likely it was all a lie and she didn't....”
Girl A couldn't finish her short sentence as her words were cut off, Girl B looked to the side and only managed to see how her dear companion fell almost in slow motion towards the front.
“It can’t be…” her eyes rolled back in her head, her world going blank for a moment before turning all shadows and fading away. She too fell forward with a dead sound.
“It was true,” Anita murmured, looking at her victim. “Killing a person is not a nice experience… it’s horrible.” Anita stretched out her arm, bracing herself against a tree as she lowered her bow. “It’s making me feel sick…”
On the other hand, Selestia had just seen how the arrow she shot hit the back of the girl A's head, watching her fall dead instantly. Now she was fighting the nausea caused by killing a person. "This is not the time Selestia," she mentally reproached herself "leave it for when everything is over, now it's time to continue with the mission, I can't feel discomfort right now."
For a moment, Selestia looked away at Diana.
The man in front of her had just spread her legs while trying to unbuckle his belt. Selestia frowned, because as a good sister-in-law and at the same time a true friend, she hated it when someone tried to do something to Diana.
Returning to Diana a few moments earlier.
“Please accept me.” The man said, finding it impossible to look away from Diana’s charm. It was impossible, it was magical. Diana tilted her head and smiled at him, causing the man to almost shed a tear.
“Yes,” Diana murmured, overheard by her soon-to-be victim. “We’ll be together forever, and no one will ever be able to separate us.”
“Oh!” Not being able to bear so much happiness he let her out, materializing in this way in a sea of tears. “I am the luckiest man in Kosmos, I love you sweet girl.”
The man touched her face again, “Now, I will make you mine,” and on his knees he separated Diana’s legs while she was breathing with some difficulty. Diana was fully dressed so nothing of her was visible, only her silhouette.
Diana looked at him without flinching.
The man smiled with some lust as he raised his hands in an attempt to remove his upper garments, which was somewhat difficult due to all the equipment he was wearing. From her position and with her legs open, Diana again directed a few last words to the wretch who had been touching her:
“You will never touch me again.”
SLASH
Fortunately for the man, he was completely unable to hear or feel anything, all his imagination let him see was Diana lying beneath him, already naked and waiting for him with her arms open around his neck and then moaning as he slowly made her his.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
But what really happened was that from her position Diana brandished the sharp Katana and cut off the man's head. The head flew through the air still smiling, and from the body or rather from the area of the decapitated neck emerged an incredible amount of blood like a fountain of water.
Diana moved away as quickly as possible, as a blood bath was not appealing to her. She rolled on the ground and for a brief moment she stared at the ground.
“It's over,” Diana said out loud, shuddering, replaying that last scene in her mind. “I must be strong.”
She heard the bushes moving and a cold sweat ran down her back, an absolute coldness assaulted her integrity. She wasn't thinking clearly, the last event added to the impression of having killed a person didn't allow her to think clearly and that was precisely why she thought that there were probably more enemies.
Breathing in fear, she gripped the handle of her Katana tightly as she tried to stand up.
“It's us, don't worry” Selestia spoke and behind her came slowly Anita, who could be seen with some bags under her eyes.
“Did they hurt you?” Selestia asked, noticeably worried about sweet Diana, although she didn’t get the desired answer.
“They didn’t hurt me, but I don’t really feel very… blueh.”
And Diana began to vomit, all caused by the impression of having killed a person. She tried to contain herself, but it was useless.
Even though he was a mercenary, he was still a human being like her.
Vomit spread beneath her, she spat once more feeling the horrible taste of vomit in her mouth “That horrible... blueh blueeeh”.
Anita put a hand to her head, for a moment she felt dizzy but it only lasted a few moments. Selestia on the other hand turned her back to them, put her special arrows in their place, turned around and from one of the pockets of her cape she took three candies, putting one in her mouth and went to her friends.
“Thank you Selestia” said Anita bringing it to her mouth.
“Diana, take this,” Selestia called out to her, causing the aforementioned to raise her head and look at her friend and sister-in-law with her hand extended towards her. “It’s a mint candy. It won’t make you feel good or calm the horrible sensation you’re feeling, but at least it will help combat the bitter taste you surely have in your mouth.”
“Yes, thank you Selestia,” Diana replied, accepting the candy and looking back at the man, at what was his body, seeing how blood was still coming from his neck.
She was scared of what she had done herself, the tremors became evident when she brought a hand to her mouth covering it. She looked a little further ahead seeing the smiling head of her opponent "no...2 the murmur caught the attention of her friends, especially Selestia.
“Diana, come here.” Selestia reached out her arms to Diana and caught her in a comforting hug.
“Selestia, I…” Diana looked at her hands as they trembled, “I… I killed him; I killed a person… I killed him.”
Tears rolled down her beautiful, dirty face. In her mind, she replayed the exact moment when she decapitated the man as if it were a movie. At that moment, she didn't feel anything due to the adrenaline and anxiety, but now all of that was taking its toll on her. "What will I do now?"
“Please don’t cry.” Selestia hugged her very tightly, placing the young girl’s face against her breasts, imitating what Valentina, her mother, did to her when she was an infant.
He wouldn’t tell anyone, but he still did this with his mother on those occasions when she was feeling a bit sad, and so far, he had managed to calm her down. “You’re not a murderer. You’re the most charming and tender woman I know, you’re not a bad person. Remember why we’re on this mission, we’re doing this for the good of everyone in our city, remember, this mission requires us to take the lives of all mercenaries and slave hunters we come across.”
Diana hugged Selestia, Anita pricked up her ears and Selestia continued. “I know it’s hard and even cruel, but unfortunately talking is not an option and that’s why we have to fight and defend ourselves. We are blessed to have been born in Gignit because, unlike us, our people have had to endure this kind of treatment for years, being sold as slaves and mistreated by their masters, it is in the name of all of them and all those who are in captivity that we do this.”
It sounds cruel, but Selestia is right. Trying to talk to these people is pointless. They are not even interested in it, as it will not bring them any benefit unless the dialogue is a trap.
This rescue mission is the only thing left to save the others.
From her position Diana nodded while Selestia pushed her away, she had to make many things clear. This was not the time, but she knew that those words, despite being very harsh, had too much truth.
“Diana, remember what your parents, mine and Neledia have told us: This is the life of an adventurer and you want to be one, whether you like it or not, at some point to save your life you will have to take the lives of your enemies and not only that.” Selestia's expression intensified wanting to make everything clear.
“Sometimes, quests quite similar to this one will be organized and you, being an adventurer, must participate if you are summoned... Do you know what that means?” Selestia asked as Diana only looked into her eyes “You will not only take one life, but many, you will kill many people and all for a greater good... This is the life of an adventurer, full of light and darkness, laughter and tears, riches and misery”
“So, if you really want to become an adventurer, you must take into account everything we have told you and have the guts to bear it.”
“Be strong Diana” Anita commented from her place, at least she wanted to add something because she appreciated that Selestia was being a bit harsh, but in the end, she was completely right “we still have a long way to go”.
Diana pulled away, nodding and trying to calm down.
"But you still went ahead and didn't hesitate when the time came. I think that if I were you and your age, I wouldn't have done the same thing," and now Selestia smiled at her.
Diana raised her head as Selestia looked at her with a look so full of understanding and love. Anita, already standing, approached her. “You are incredible, Diana, and with your unique magic, I am more than sure that you will be unstoppable. It will be quite difficult to face you.”
“Thank you,” she replied.
“And also,” Selestia gulped, “I’m so sorry I got you into that situation, I just couldn’t think of any other plan than sending you as the distraction, I assumed that man would like you and I put you in too much danger while I just watched from a distance.”
Diana hugged her, now it was she who smiled “don’t apologize, your plan was the best, none of us were hurt, not even me who was closest to them.”
“Selestia” Anita called, “your way was the right one, if it had been any other way, we would surely be fighting for our lives now…”
“I might as well be dead already,” Diana smiled brightly.
Selestia nodded, she wouldn't deny it, that possibility was too much.
“Besides, I was the one who agreed to be bait for that man.”
“Your special arrows were the best option to finish off those two, because just as you had said at that time, if those girls were very experienced, they would be able to detect the arrows when they were launched, so the best option was your special arrows since those are much harder to detect” Anita pointing towards Selestia's special arrows.
Selestia smiled a little more calmly, luckily, all the bad feeling caused by having killed a person had been put in the background for the moment. "It's okay, but if we find ourselves in a similar situation again, I will create a better plan, one where none of you have to put yourselves in danger."
“None of you,” Anita thought with some sadness and annoyance, “will again come up with a plan where you risk your life.”
Suddenly she opened her eyes wide, to a point where she thought it would never be possible to do so.
Small veins ran through the eye, marking the sclera strongly. Anita opened her mouth, her heart was beating more than a thousand times a second and she was not the only one who was like that because Selestia was in the same situation, she was breathing with marked difficulty, but it was a different type of breathing than being exhausted or similar.
In this case, it was the kind of breathing one had when an overwhelming feeling of fear took over the body.
And that was what was happening, Selestia and Anita were scared to death. Anita's teeth were chattering, the magical power emanating from whatever those beings were was overwhelming.
“What the heck is this?” Selestia thought to herself, “what is this overwhelming feeling? Who does this overwhelming magical power belong to? It’s too much.”
“What’s going on?” It was Anita's turn, who looked at her trembling hands. "I'm really scared. Who does this immense magical energy belong to?"
Oddly enough, among the three of them, the only person who kept her composure much better was Diana.
It was true that she also felt extremely overwhelmed by the magical energy emanating from the beings, she was still afraid, but for some strange reason she was able to bear it much better than her friends. What's more, she looked very strangely at the surroundings.
“This overwhelming magical energy, this familiar feeling...” Diana murmured just as she looked at her arms, as the so-called “goosebumps” appeared on them, an unmistakable sign of true surprise, fear or stupor.
“It looks very familiar to me” she said again, looking at her friends. If fear had a face, it would definitely be Anita and Selestia’s.
Diana could see how even Anita's teeth were chattering uncontrollably “they are two powerful sources of magical energy and one of them... feels very familiar to me... as if I have felt it before.”
She focused again, completely ignoring her precious friends who were still dying of fear. Suddenly an extremely familiar feeling hit her, one she wished she had forgotten, but in this case, it was a good thing she hadn't.
She felt as if two orange eyes with vertical irises, devoid of any emotion, had pierced her back as if they were sharp sabers. “It can't be, without a doubt, this presence belongs to the Wyrm...”
She was the only one who could move and taking advantage of that she took the hands of her precious friends and started running towards the only place where she could not feel the presence of anything or anyone. “Please, girls, do your part or we will all die!” This was very helpful because it seemed that Selestia and Anita, although afraid, had finally regained their composure.
They had no more time to escape because they had to hide. They jumped between the bushes and hid behind the trees, side by side, behind three different trunks with Diana between the two of them.
“That presence becomes much more overwhelming,” Diana commented, sweating heavily.
The feeling became much more overwhelming than it already was.
“QQ-what's coming next?” Anita asked, making a tremendous effort to speak.
“Please, Anita,” Diana scolded, frowning and making the sign for silence with her right index finger. “Be quiet and don’t make any noise, I beg you.” Despite being the best, her face still reflected a lot of fear. “If he finds out, he’ll eat all three of us! So, please, try not to make any noise.”
“Diana,” Selestia called, still extremely afraid but doing everything possible to control herself, “do you know what’s coming?”
“Yes,” she replied, “you’ll probably get scared, but try to control yourself, because I’m not lying to you, that thing will eat us and none of the three of us will be able to do anything to defend ourselves.” Selestia and Anita have a lot more experience when it comes to doing guild missions. Much more, even fighting against magical beasts at the request of the guild.
But at the same time, Diana is the one who has the most experience in this type of situation. Even more so as it is a beast that she already knows and has seen. She has already survived an encounter with a powerful magical beast - an Alpha class one!
She came out of that encounter alive and even though it was only once, she knows how to act in these cases because the experience remained engraved deep in her soul.
-ROAAAAAAAR-
“Here it is.” Diana commented, peering over the side of the tree. She would never forget the monstrous magical beast that was currently crawling very close to them while roaring.
On the other hand, Selestia and Anita were truly scared, so much so that Diana even reminded her of how she was in that first encounter. How can you blame them if it's something totally understandable, who wouldn't be scared to death seeing such a tremendous Magical Beast near them.
Suddenly Diana's eyes opened wide, now she was on the same wavelength as her precious friends: "It can't be... that, that's a..."
“A Chimera” Selestia finished with her eyes wide open.
The Chimera is a very dangerous magical beast, and as it grows, its level of danger only increases. It is very difficult for a single adventurer to stop it, only SILVER ranks and above can face it alone, although it will always depend on what kind of magical beast it is, that is, the rank it possesses.
There are five ranks in total, with the Alpha and Omega ranks being second and third respectively.
This Chimera, which has appeared very close to the girls, has the particular characteristics that these magical beasts have, they are composed of parts of different beasts.
In this case, this Chimera is shaped like one of the most typical, but also powerful ones. Head of an imposing Male Lion with abundant mane. The teeth were so sharp that they even seemed to be sharp blades and instead of fangs a pair of sabers.
The trunk of this beast was already a combination between a lion and a goat, the front part belonged to the imposing lion, with its hairy limbs and sharp claws waiting to destroy anything.
Just beyond where the mane ended, the head of a goat emerged, with long horns on its head, a gaze of red eyes with the iris arranged horizontally. The open mouth also revealed deadly teeth, very sharp despite being a goat.
The Chimera was constantly drooling.
Unlike the lion, the goat's fur was quite black, camouflaging itself with the blackness of the night. The hind legs of this beast were a combination of both species, making them large and strong.
Finally, one of the most fascinating things about this beast is its characteristic tail, long and full of scales, moving as if it had a life of its own, now erect and bent forward. At the tip you can see the head of a dangerous and extremely poisonous snake.
This was evident when it opened its mouth and a purple liquid fell out in drops. The forked tongue seemed to taste the surrounding air, eager to sink its long, sharp fangs into whatever it wanted to turn into prey.
If Selestia were to stand in front of the beast, she would only reach up to its chin area, it was so big.
The three heads of the Chimera growled and glared menacingly at the other magical beast in front of them, the Wyrm.
-ROAAAAAAAR-
Neither of them was intimidated by the other, their faces twisted into one of pure annoyance.
The immense thirst for blood that these powerful magical beasts instilled in them left the girls' integrity like stones, who were now unable to even move.
Trembling with fear and terror, Selestia swallowed the urge to flee the place as quickly as possible and looked at her friends. “D-Don’t move a s-single muscle.”
Anita and Diana nodded, perhaps the latter had more experience than the two in these matters, but now they were two magical beasts, it was too much even for her.
“There’s no doubt about it” – breathing heavily and fighting against her own instinct that screamed at her not to stick her head out and try to see, Diana peeked over the side of the tree. Watching and listening to the roar of the two beasts “they’re gigantic,” she thought to herself again “the pressure that the Chimera gives off is the same as the Wyrm’s, as if they were the same cla... – her eyes widened, now reflecting pure terror and desperation.
With those eyes she looked at Selestia who couldn't help but feel panic at that moment, something was wrong, and if in that situation something was wrong it was too much "Diana, don't give us bad news..."
“We must flee,” she replied, almost trembling, “I am absolutely sure that the Chimera is also an Alpha Class…”
Anita, who just then raised her ear, heard every word he had said. Slowly she brought both hands to her mouth, squeezing them and using a lot of energy she stifled a scream that wanted to come out. It was terrible and horrible news.
“Mathias” she muttered to herself with tears knocking on the door so she could get out.
“Calm down both of you” Selestia had to put things in order and calm them down otherwise the magical beasts could discover them and everything would end there. Anita and Diana diverted their attention “I just ask that you stay still, just for a moment until your fight ends... I promise that nothing will happen to us...-.
Selestia was unable to continue as the aura around the two magical beasts intensified by who knows how much, it was too much. Anita bit her lips and closed her eyes, once again stifling a scream that tried to escape from her by any means.
Carmine liquid began to escape through Diana's nostrils, who knows why, but it obviously had to do with the two magical beasts. Their magical power and the mere sensation emanating from both of them was too much for them.
“Did Diana and Christopher have to endure this kind of feelings?” Anita thought, barely diverting her attention to the youngest of the three. “It's incredible.” She closed her eyes. “That's the fourth time I've thought I'd already died, only to realize I'm still standing here.”
“We will die” Selestia thought, "If I don't do something, the three of us will die, and I have no choice but to go and fight while they escape. We have no other option. Then I'll have to find a way to escape..." She unsheathed her butterfly swords, and trembling, she prepared to go against those powerful beasts.
But something happened, just at that moment the tail/snake seemed to have captured something and from being threatening against the Wyrm it looked into the distance, towards the darkness of the sea of trees and growled again, but this time it was much more lethal than before.
The other heads did the same, for what one sees is automatically perceived by the others. The entire Chimera's fur bristled from one moment to the next.
–RRROOOOAAAAAAAAR-.
They growled into nothingness, as if something truly terrifying had appeared in the distance.
“What’s going on?” said Selestia, looking out along with her friends. “What are you going to do now?”
The Wyrm seems to be in the same boat, not even looking at its attacker anymore. It also focused on the deep, dark sea of trees, which completely caught the girls' attention, but it was better to remain silent.
-ROOOAAAR-
They growled one last time before both magical beasts took off in who knows where, quite upset and furious. Some trees fell when the Chimera crashed into them while the Wyrm only dedicated itself to dodging them in a serpentine manner.
When they were no longer able to sense the immense energies of the magical beasts, the girls were able to breathe normally and calmly.
Anita had to support herself using her knees as support “I thought I would die...,” she said, now looking at Diana “the fear I felt is only comparable to the time that Dragon appeared...”
“The Wyrm was the same one we had encountered days ago, when Christopher saved me.” Diana was also in the same boat, just the memory of that moment made her skin crawl. She also remembered how the person she was in love with was more than willing to give his life so that they could both be saved “it is impossible for me to forget it, but…”
"The Chimera?" Anita asked again as Diana nodded. "I still don't understand what just happened, and I find the behavior truly strange. Alpha-class magical beasts are supposed to start fighting as soon as they encounter another one."
“But the Wyrm and the Chimera didn’t and I’m sure they were both Alpha class… I don’t understand” Diana said again “I remember that when the Wyrm appeared, so did a Winged Whale. The Wyrm wasted no time and quickly went after it and surely fought the other Alpha, but now it didn’t.”
“I’ve heard that in the past few days, there has been an incredible agglomeration of magical beasts in our surroundings and no one can explain why this is happening,” Selestia said, “even comments from some adventurers who have witnessed what should be the Alpha class duel but in the end, it ends up heading in the same direction, the same way these two did.”
“Do you know the reason?” Anita asked as Selestia just shook her head.
“I don’t have the slightest idea and apparently my parents don’t either, and if they don’t know, I highly doubt anyone else would know.” Selestia looked back at her friends, now composed and much calmer. “I just know that we must take care of ourselves more than before, we must also report to Neledia the progress of our mission and especially about our unpleasant encounter with these Alpha-class magical beasts.”
“I hope the situation in our city doesn’t get worse,” Diana said, somewhat nervously. “We already have enough problems for something much worse to happen.”
“Don’t say that Diana,” Anita complained, “you’re just inviting bad luck.”
“That's enough, girls,” Selestia concluded. “We mustn't waste any more time. We must go to our meeting point as soon as possible and wait for the others if they haven't arrived yet... Christopher, Sebastian... please, don't let anything bad happen to you.”
