What was previously called a town, now, ten years later, is called the city of Gignit, which has changed a lot, growing fantastically both in infrastructure and economy.
Previously, the economy was based almost entirely on hunting magical beasts and selling their parts. Now, much more than hunting and selling, it is dedicated to the export and import of various products which can be obtained in Gignit. Many of these products are quite coveted, such as some potions prepared exclusively by Elves which provide a sudden surge of energy to continue the battle.
Something that also helped the city's growth was the increase in population and with it the workforce available over the last ten years. There were many births as well as migrations of people from other towns to the city of Gignit. Many people of different races came to Gignit longing for a new life and a new beginning, here in Gignit, in the city where there is no discrimination simply because of being a person of a different race.
Immigrants, regardless of race, are welcomed with open arms as long as they do not look for trouble and help Gignit grow.
With effort, people found a place to live and work, which was certainly denied to them in their former places of residence for having lived in towns and/or cities where they were discriminated against and rejected.
They managed to have their own businesses, such as a small food stand or something similar. They were happy, they were free and no one would take away from them the freedom that they had worked so hard to achieve.
The expansion of the city reached the point where they found it necessary to expand the territory, building a new wall called "The Great Wall" and demolishing the old wall so that more houses could be built.
The roads within the city were no longer made of dirt, but were now replaced by pebbles for better and easier transit through the place, while also making it much more pleasing to the eye.
Now many people were walking through the crowded, lively and noisy streets with great joy, watching people of different races talking to each other.
At this time, the hustle and bustle in this area was beginning to be quite normal, as it was always like this in the commercial area of the city, the area belonging to shops and stores of different types. You can see merchants from abroad negotiating with the owners of shops and street stalls, buying products and offering their own, such as: A beautiful ring with a precious shiny sapphire-colored stone, probably very popular among young couples.
There are also adventurers entering and leaving the city, many going on missions and others returning after completing them. There are cases of adventurers who simply stop by to visit the city and make purchases or stock up for a new trip, in these cases they take advantage of staying in the city for a couple of days to rest. And in the process try to flirt with one of the women (in the case of men) or with a man (in the case of women) and have a hot and pleasant night immersed in the purest pleasure.

-Look! - exclaimed one of the guards, who at this hour has to watch the great gate, somewhat drowsily -someone comes running-.
With this, any trace of laziness and tiredness disappeared from all those present at the event. Perhaps this sentry is a little tired due to his guard schedule, but he is very clear that this is not an excuse to neglect his job, which is of vital importance to maintaining the security of the city.
He is a proud guard of Gignit who takes his surveillance work very seriously, he does not beat around the bush and if he must act harshly he does so without hesitating for even a fraction of a second.
-I see it- answered his companion, located a few centimeters next to him -it's coming quite fast-.
He quickly put aside the small breakfast which is considered the most important meal of the day, the one that ignites and prepares the body for everything that is to come. He didn't care that his stomach was growling, the safety of Gignit was far more important to him than his breakfast, the hunger he is probably feeling is nothing compared to the safety of all the people in Gignit.

-Get ready- both of them gripped their respective spears tightly and firmly, which were used precisely for this type of situation. In case the individual currently approaching at high speed was someone with bad intentions, the guards have the green light to impale him with the spears.
It may seem like the way of acting is too bad or even exaggerated, but it is due to experience and everything that the city has been through in the last ten years that they must act this way because not everything has been rosy. That is why so much emphasis is placed on protecting security within the city at all costs.
Sentinels are not weak at all, as they are capable of putting up quite a fight. Before a candidate becomes a Sentinel, they undergo rigorous training and then an exam, after which, if the candidate passes, they are assigned to one of the many divisions. It is not for nothing that they have been defending the outskirts of the city for the past few years.
With very few casualties to date.
-It is very likely that we will have to fight against this individual- with this both sentinels prepared to jump down to the other side of the walls which were now higher, about fifteen meters high. The great gate reached up to ten meters.
This is due to the expansion of the city.
As they prepared to jump, they heard a scream coming from the direction of the individual who was calling them.
-HEY, PLEASE OPEN THE GATE! I HAVE VERY INJURED PEOPLE WITH ME-
They instantly knew who the voice they had just heard belonged to, and they didn't pay any attention to the dialogue about how foolish they were to think it was an enemy or anything like that, much less to look at each other comically. They quickly ordered the gate to be opened, knowing that the young Lord of the city was in trouble.
-OPEN THE GATE!- one of them shouted in a loud voice -LORD CHRISTOPHER IS COMING AND BRINGING WOUNDED ONES-.
The creaking sound of the gate sliding on the rails told Christopher that his announcement had been heard by all and that action was taken as quickly as possible. They were indeed doing their job very diligently, and Christopher thanked the sentries for their ability to identify people they knew even from a distance.
Running and carrying Roger on his back, Macky in his arms, he entered the city at full speed, passing through the checkpoint without stopping - THANK YOU VERY MUCH GUYS! - he exclaimed with a shout, continuing on with a goal in mind.
The sentries on guard duty above the gate nodded in relief at not having to fight off an invading intruder, especially since the individual approaching at high speed turned out to be Christopher and not some beast or criminal out to cause trouble. They quickly resumed their important guard positions, now much more alert and without the slightest hint of drowsiness affecting their performance.
Although one of them was quite happy to continue with what he was doing, having breakfast while laughing, the companion next to him gave him a funny laugh.
-Did you see the people that Lord Christopher was carrying?- question asked by one of the many sentries that were located just around the wall. Those two, although they didn't seem to be paying any attention, nodded instantly.
-Without a doubt- added the sentinel, who is a Dark Elf wearing light Elven battle clothes. He recently aimed at Christopher with his bow and arrow, but when he realized it was him he repositioned the bow on his back, adjusting it to its stand and the arrows in the quiver. With this he continued and completed the statement he had planned to convey -those were slaves... and very wounded-.
-It could be that the slave hunters have reappeared- the sentry who was having breakfast drank some of the prepared coffee -if that's the case, they're most likely not near the walls- he eagerly took a bite of a sandwich -although it could also be from an adventurer who abandoned them-.
The Dark Elf looked out into the forest, analyzing the current situation. A lot of conjectures and ideas formed in his mind and he came to a conclusion about the situation. It was bad, if it was confirmed that the slavers had reappeared, fear would once again rule the city.
-In case they really have returned- the sentinel Elf clenched his fists, he remembered how many of his friends were sold by the slave hunters. Someone must do something -our city could be in grave danger- he looked at his companions, due to the closeness between them it was very easy for them to guess his intentions.
-Please- said the Elf before jumping forward -give my apologies to Chief ONE, but someone must confirm the situation and get rid of them if necessary- he jumped and while he was still in the air falling he directed a few last words towards his companions -IF I DON'T COME BACK FOR MY WATCH TOMORROW, TAKE IT AS IF I WAS CAPTURED OR THAT SOMETHING BAD HAPPENED TO ME-.
He landed on both feet, raising a small cloud of dust. For a brief moment, he tensed his legs, gathering some strength in them, making his muscles show slightly, and immediately ran off into the forest, following the naturally marked path and dodging any obstacles that appeared in his path.
"That fool," said one of the sentries, who had just finished breakfast, and put the remains into a small container which is used as a garbage dump.
-I hope we are wrong and it is just our paranoia-.
