Chapter 39: The first time we killed

Chapter 39: The first time we killed

The dancing loose leaves falling from the endless sea of trees were carried by the cool night breeze. This air was neither too cold nor too hot and so would be truly pleasant to anyone's skin or fur.

The vegetation grew, dominating and taking over the environment in what was one of the many clearings that were distributed throughout the forest.

Large, elevated rocks were seen distributed around the area, some of them even floating a few meters above ground level, while small, very thin vines descended from the floating rocks as if they were mini stairs.

It seemed that these floating rocks were the home of various spirits that were currently resting within the small hollows and holes that composed it.

Some insects also lived with them, such as the black-shelled rhinoceros beetle that seemed to be resting motionless among the small grasses protruding from the floating rock. This insect does not represent a danger to the spirits. It is a very beneficial insect for the environment as it greatly helps by recycling the organic matter of the biome where it lives.

The faint moonbeams falling from the sky and all those that managed to penetrate the thick vegetation of the trees achieved the magical effect of illuminating the surroundings, and thanks to this the world inside the clearing was not tinged with the color of the darkness of the night.

And in the middle of the majestic and magical clearing, there, standing alone, one sees an old cut trunk, yet still full of life, like the large mushrooms that lived around the trunk, as well as the flowers and vegetation that re-emerged from its old wounds.

But what should have been a place of total calm from the beginning, which should have transmitted peace and tranquility just by looking at it, had been transformed into a battlefield full of death and putrid smells.

“THERE ARE FEW OF THIS DISGUSTING TRASH LEFT!”

Even though the shout only hurled insults to the four winds, the person who shouted did not seem to be angry or at least that was the impression given because the person responsible for the shout, an adult man in leather armor, smiled a huge smile while he smashed and dismembered all of his opponents with his short sword.

“Disgusting Zombies, they are a real nuisance.”

“But it's fun to kill them,” another of his companions began to think, unlike the first, this one was a young man, “is it possible to kill a dead person?”

Most likely the same age as Christopher and the others “although I would have liked it to be some people from that filthy city” he decapitated another zombie again using his short sword, the head fell to the ground almost bouncing and subsequently he stepped on it spilling the putrid fluids it had inside “and you don't plan on joining us? Even though it's more fun to dismember people, zombies aren't so bad”.

The question was directed to a third of them.

“No thanks, too disgusting.”

A voice came from very close to the person who asked the question, the voice denoted quite a bit of youth.

Just judging by the tone of his voice, one could guess that he was pretty close to the boys' age, he could even be the same age: "I don't really feel like getting dirty with the nauseating fluids that jump out when you cut up a Zombie."

The young man was sitting on top of the solitary trunk in the middle of the clearing. The height of the trunk was such that the Zombies around him tried to reach it by stretching out their gangrenous arms, but still, they couldn't reach him. "It disgusts me just thinking about smelling Zombies. I don't understand how you can bathe in that filth without feeling nauseous. I'm sure you'll also get infected and turn into Zombies."

At one point he felt so nauseous that he covered his mouth with his hands, trying to stop himself from vomiting. Seeing his teammates only increased his desire not to participate in what he considered a ridiculous competition.

The young man was so disgusted that finally, unable to bear it any longer, he leaned to one side and dropped some of what he had eaten for dinner and threw it all over a Zombie. “This is too disgusting; can’t you just hurry up and finish them all off at once so we can get out of this place? Besides, our orders were only to keep watch and come back if we don’t find anything suspicious.”

“Come on, don’t be a party pooper,” the first one mentioned, brandishing his natural sword, probably made up of parts of some magical rock beast, and with it he cut a zombie in two while grabbing its head, and positioning himself he threw it towards his partner who was reluctant to join them.

He dodged it by stepping to the side.

“We followed orders all day long and we didn't stop to rest even for a moment” he turned around and walked towards all the zombies that were still trying to catch his partner “I know our orders were only to keep watch and come back, but at least let us have some fun for a while, it doesn't hurt anyone if we kill a few zombies”.

Using his great strength, he spun around, placing all his weight on a single leg so that it served as a kind of base to propel the movement, in this way he eliminated all the zombies who did not even notice when everything happened, a lot of black blood was released over the entire battlefield destroying the visual of the area.

“We need to release at least a little of our stress, after all, all our orders so far have been to take a few turns around this damn forest,” the man sighed. “I haven’t even been able to go to the pleasure zone and abuse some of the slaves who won’t be sold. Damn it! I’ve even been told that there are some that are very beautiful.”

“Hmph,” the man sitting on the log muttered, “I’m not interested in a single one of those women.”

“Don't get in a bad mood...” the other man, the first one who was older than the pair, approached smiling “after all” his attitude changed again and his expressions now denoted pure mischief “I heard that they have captured some young men who might be of your liking and guess what.”

The eyebrows of his companion sitting on top of the log raised and then with a slight hint of interest, the man realized that his companion took the bait, now it seemed that he had even caught his attention “a few of them will become slaves that will not be sold... so, if you keep what we have been doing a secret, I promise to get you one of those boys so you can have fun and make them yours... What do you say?”

This young man likes people of the same sex, so the tempting offer from his superior seemed to be too juicy. “Hmph,” he muttered with a smile, “I’m not as easy as I seem to be, you know, I’m a bit expensive. But just this once, I’ll accept your tempting offer after all…”

The young man stood up and, with a smile, he ran to his companions. “I also need to get rid of some stress. It would be good for me to satisfy my appetite and make a cute boy suffer.”

“That’s it, my dear friend,” said the eldest, “then it’s settled, we’ll go and smash a few more zombies and then we’ll all go to the pleasure zone together and do our thing…”

Suddenly there was silence and the almost soundless night breeze could be heard whistling in their ears.

The cool air caressed their faces, trying to dry the sweat that had soaked into their bodies. It made them want to close their eyes and let the breeze continue to caress their faces. Until suddenly, the one who seemed to be the leader felt something brush his face. He felt as if something began to burn and then that area became wet.

“Boss…”, one of his subordinates called, “your face has been cut off.”

The eyes of his companions were open with an unmistakable sign of surprise.

The aforementioned boss raised one of his hands and touched the area. “Blood?” he said out loud, drawing the attention of his other partner.

“Hey,” the third of them all called out, “is that a wound?”

And the subordinate said it just as his heart raced, a bunch of ideas coming to his mind.

His thoughts were already too obvious, and not just his own. But those of his companions as well.

“WE ARE BEING ATTACKED!” – this time it was the boss who shouted, sword in hand and in combat stance. His subordinates did the same. Not even five seconds had passed since what happened and they were attacked again.

But this time they were a little more prepared, more attentive to their surroundings.

As soon as they heard a sound coming from a nearby tree, they already turned their heads quickly in that direction. Searching for the characteristic sound that branches make when they are hit and brushed by something. The three of them jumped back, exalted, they observed the exact moment in which a bunch of small knives collided, embedding themselves mercilessly against the ground.

In that short period of time, the brain of the boss worked at more than 100%, his eyes looked from side to side, up and down, searching for the location of his enemies. All he saw was an endless sea of vegetation and thick trunks. It was obvious that he would never find his attackers, even less so if the aforementioned did not want to be seen.

In this forest, those thick trunks were perfect hiding places and the dim lighting only increased the difficulty of finding the enemies.

“I can’t find them,” his thoughts were reflected on his distressed face, and even though he concentrated on the environment, he was unable to sense the enemy’s presence. “I can’t sense the slightest trace of magical energy in the environment. The bastards are good, but it seems they’ve run out of options.”

His thoughts were interrupted and his eyes widened in slow motion just as he heard the distinctive sound of branches brushing against something. He turned his head and in that instant another wave of throwing weapons traveled towards them. The boss didn't waste any time.

“Earth Elemental Magic: Earth Wall.”

Magic made an appearance, bathing the surroundings of the place with its essence.

The magical earth wall was at least two meters high. “Stay behind me!” exclaimed the boss, now he was quite agitated.

He wasn't stupid, he immediately knew that they weren't facing a single opponent, in fact, it was obvious. The question was how many are there? And because that question was floating around in his head and repeated out loud, over and over again, it was very difficult for him to calm down “listen, we're surrounded.”

“I-It can’t be.”

“Shut up, we still have a way out.”

His subordinates nodded and despite being mercenaries they were quite pale, scared, something didn't seem to fit between what they were and their attitudes.

“What can we do?” said the man who liked people of the same sex. “We must meet with the others. Something is happening and our superiors must know about it.”

And again, more kunais were thrown towards them, the whistling sound seemed to cut through the air, but again the wall of earth protected them.

“When I give the signal, you will run towards that area of the bushes,” the chief ordered.

“But boss,” another replied, “they could be waiting for us in that area.”

“I doubt it,” the chief added, urging logic to the actions of his hidden enemies. “So far, not a single attack has come from those bushes, so we could say that they are gathering towards our front. When I give them the signal, they will go all out, and in the remote case that someone surprises them, just kill him.”

Nervously, the subordinates nodded just as the magical earth wall transmitted to him that it had been hit by projectiles again. “You see, they are over there. I know I am an idiot, but even someone like me can make that kind of deduction.”

Everyone nodded and counted to three mentally.

“1... 2... 3... now.”

The earth wall fell revealing the smiling chief with his sword in hand.

His smile didn't look like that of someone who was about to face death, no, rather it seemed like that of a person immersed in the purest pleasure "if our bosses found out that they are apparently attacking us, they would immediately launch a counterattack, what that means," he licked his lips, half-closing his eyes thinking about the liters of blood he might be lucky enough to see, "I'll be able to kill as many people as I can."

"WHY DON'T YOU JUST COME OUT AND FACE ME! OR ARE YOU SO USELESS THAT YOU ONLY KNOW HOW TO ATTACK FROM A DISTANCE?"

Meanwhile, his companions set off towards the marked area.

“COME ON, DON’T BE COWARDS, COME OUT AND FACE ME.”

The boss looked ahead and saw a silhouette appear from behind the bushes. “There you are.” He said, raising his guard and pretending to wait for that person to attack him. The enemy brought both arms to his hips, grabbed sharp weapons and immediately threw them forward.

“HAHAHAHA, it looks like you're still a rookie” the boss laughed, showing a smile that looked much more sadistic, revealing his true self.

His tall posture, his leg movements were perfect, the swing of the sword in total harmony that so majestically was able to repel one of the three kunais that were thrown towards him “what”. He muttered in a low voice with the smile slowly disappearing.

It was true that he was able to repel one of the kunais, but what happened next made it seem like that was the idea. One of the Kunais flew to the side when it hit the boss's shield-like sword, but the other two did something that left him perplexed. When they were about to be knocked down, the kunais redirected their trajectory, crossing very close to each other and in that way, they avoided touching the sword and at the same time hitting the boss.

Time seemed too slow and at that speed they passed just a few centimeters away from touching him, then as if by magic time seemed to have followed its normal course as it always had.

The boss turned his head, realizing too late “it was all a trap” and despite the situation and what was about to happen, the man smiled a smile that only denoted satisfaction.

The kunai followed their natural course traced by the throw of the person hidden in the undergrowth, they cut through the wind as if they were actually cutting it.

“BEHIND YOU”.

The boss who had been watching everything had no time to react, his body was unable to keep up with the pace of his brain that was demanding him to move. He only managed to scream and luckily, apparently, that was enough.

Fear and desperation made the integrity of each of the two subordinates work, but they did so in different ways.

Just by hearing the boss's call, the first of them, the one who liked other men, stepped aside, watching the deadly weapon pass just a few centimeters away from hitting his head. His eyes wide open, revealing his state of fear and despair, which only increased when he saw his partner.

The first one was just a bit lucky; the problem was the second one.

The tension of the place plus the wait for what might happen completely clouded his surroundings, he could neither see nor hear anything and this was the reason for his condemnation. The second subordinate was not able to hear his boss's call and therefore did not step aside. The last thing he could feel was something stabbing right behind his head.

The kunai was embedded really deep, causing his death almost immediately, but not before shedding a lot of blood.

He was the first of the three to die.

The boss watched the scene with his eyes wide open, slowly entering a state of fury that would soon increase exponentially, he seemed to have two personalities.

While the subordinate was hyperventilating, next to him was his dead companion with blood gushing out in large quantities from the area where the kunai had pierced him. The spasms made it difficult for him to breathe, he had almost lost the freedom of his movements and that was despite the fact that no one was holding him or anything like that.

“GO AWAY” the boss shouted, heading towards where he was “OTHERWISE WE WILL BOTH DIE.”

“Y-YES” answered the subordinate and once again headed towards freedom, towards the path that could save his life as well as that of his boss.

There were only a few meters left and that's why he started to smile. This path would lead him away from this death zone. "I won't die" the subordinate whispered between his teeth, being only a few centimeters away from supposed freedom, but, in the end, nothing goes right for those who live off evil.

A figure emerged from the safe zone, just a few centimeters away from him, and without wasting any time, that figure had already launched an attack towards him.

The subordinate watched as sharp claws headed towards his neck. “It can’t be.” He muttered with great difficulty before the sharp edge of those fearsome retractable claws forcefully and violently caressed his neck.

Blood shot through the air as if it were a volcanic eruption, dyeing the plants a crimson hue.

His eyes were losing their shine, already tired they threatened to go out once and for all, but, before both closed forever, he managed to see the one who had finished him off, the one who, turned into an executioner, was in charge of ending his life. It was a semi-human tiger who just at that moment brought his other hand back and with his claws in plain sight dealt the final mortal blow, burying him in the middle of his pectorals, destroying him and ending the life of the unfortunate subject forever.

The sight of his companions lying on the ground, dead and bleeding, did not seem pretty at all.

His expression intensified and his fury became evident “DAMN YOU!” He let out a scream and in an evident state of fury he decided to attack the one who, in his opinion, was the cause of everything, the man behind the weeds.

“IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT,” the boss advanced, brandishing his sword diagonally, intending to cut him and disembowel him on the spot. “YOU WILL PAY WITH YOUR LIFE.”

“Here, the only one who will pay with his life is you,” the man behind the bush replied, and curiously his voice seemed to be much younger than one would expect. The boss dodged the attack and leapt forward into the clearing, revealing himself at once. White skin, blond hair and green eyes. Christopher, with a serious face, directed a cold look at his adversary.

“I see,” the boss said through gritted teeth, squeezing him tightly, “then you and that demi-human intend to take my life as well.”

“No,” a voice came from very close to where he was standing, somewhat cold but very determined, “I will be the one to end your pathetic and vile existence.” Sebastian looked very upset, “but don’t worry, unlike you and those two, I don’t consider myself a very bad person. So I can promise you that your death will be quite quick and somewhat painless.”

“Something painless, you say?”

“Yes,” he replied again, “because you still deserve to suffer.”

Mathias saw how after Sebastian said that, the enemy's body seemed to have tensed and he adjusted his grip on his sword.

The boss was not that stupid, he was outnumbered and still did not know the capabilities of his rivals.

“You will answer for your crimes against our city and its inhabitants,” Christopher was very serious.

“So you live in Gignit” and out of nowhere the boss starts laughing.

His pupils seemed to be two pinheads because they had shrunk so much.

A psychopathic laugh was brought from the darkest corners of his being “I'm so happy” from one moment to the next his nervous and somewhat furious attitude took an extremely radical change now turning into one that denoted happiness “I didn't even need to go look for them! The merchandise came to me! You don't know the trouble I've saved myself.

As if he were crazy, the boss tilted his head, about to burst out laughing. “I really appreciate it. Two young, healthy boys and a demi-human who looks incredibly strong! I won the lottery; I can earn my rightful place in VARANUS!”

He didn't even mention his deceased companions anymore, and all the anger caused by their deaths had vanished. Apparently, in the life of such people, only gold and status mattered.

The man sighed as beads of nervous sweat rolled down the boys' bodies. "I was tired of never having enough of these fools coming to this city, they weren't worth it."

Fury, for a moment the boys and especially Christopher felt like an infinite fury whipped up and ran through every part of their bodies. Reaching the most hidden recesses of their minds, they became serious and sharpened their gaze. The hatred they felt for a few moments was absolutely indescribable, so much so that even when they recovered their feelings, they couldn't explain it.

However, Christopher was still in that state.

“You,” he said, his teeth almost cracking from clenching them, “how much more do you plan to take from us? How many more people do you plan to take away their freedoms and make them unhappy? How much harm do you plan to cause? And all for what?”

“For the gold,” the man replied, “isn’t it obvious? Are you aware that your people can be sold at good prices? Unlike other commoners, they have a good life here. Good food and education.” The chief smiled, pretending to feel superior, but all he really wanted was to provoke them. “You have no idea how rich I will become thanks to you; your city is a damn gold mine and I am the miner who will mine it.”

“To my people...” he said through clenched teeth, biting his lower lip, trying not to explode from the anger building up inside him “to my people...” he repeated it again as a vein formed on his forehead and some blood dripped from his lips “you only see them as a source of income to help support your disgusting life.”

“You hit the nail on the head... young man.”

Christopher and the others weren't idiots, they knew this man was just buying time. The why? It was very obvious, there was a chance that some of his allies would show up and that would only put him at an advantage.

“Tell me, young man. You live in Gignit. Are you someone important?”

“That...” Christopher answered, bringing both arms towards his belt, two kunais in his right and two blades in his left “... is something that you will never be able to discover.” It was no longer worth arguing with his enemies. Why would he do it? If all they do is make it clear that they only want to do evil at the expense of others.

“Sebastian! Mathias! We will make the web” he exclaimed, calling the names of both of them, who nodded very seriously. The aforementioned quickly positioned themselves a few meters away from their opponent, thus surrounding him between the three of them in a triangle of death.

“I don’t know what they’re going to do,” the boss’s eyes were torn between who to look at, he didn’t know what to do, and this one seemed to be like a third personality. “I don’t know what the hell these bastards are planning to do, but I have to get out of this. They’ve got me surrounded, I have nowhere to escape...”

He had to step aside, not just once, but twice, three times, four times, so many times that his head seemed to pop off at any moment. He took steps to the side, forward and backward. He moved his head, adopted strange positions, dodging the thrown weapons that passed close to him.

Between his hands, from below, sometimes it seemed like he would hit him in the head, but a movement of his sword would divert him from the trajectory that would end his life. The kunais and blades seemed to have no end, it even seemed as if they were infinite, although what really happened was the following.

Christopher, Sebastian and even Mathias. The aforementioned prepared their respective weapons, four each. The weapons used were simply the boys' preferences, nothing more.

The next thing that happened was that the three of them formed a triangle and simultaneously launched their sharp and deadly throwing weapons in an attempt to take the man's life. As expected, the latter would not let himself be killed without first putting up a fight.

The weapons that were dodged or repelled would go straight to one of the boys, who would grab them and throw them again without wasting time. The strange thing was that they weren't just aiming for the head or torso, but also for the upper and lower limbs. Sometimes they even seemed to miss on purpose.

“I can escape,” the chief thought almost jubilantly, repelling the throws again, using his sword.

Sparks flew into the air as the blades came into contact with each other. The kunais leapt into the sky, and at that moment Mathias appeared, grabbed them in mid-flight, and threw them back from his position.

Using the blade as a shield, the boss deflected the attacks, sending them straight towards Sebastian, who had just then thrown two blades. It seemed that he wouldn't have time to hold the kunais, adjust himself, and throw them again, so he did the best he could.

From his position he made use of his deadly katana, unsheathing it in just a fraction of a second, he struck both kunais, which spinning around themselves went straight towards Christopher who seriously seemed to be waiting for them.

The young Lord held them in such a way that both ends were pointing towards the ground.

“NOW!” Christopher gave a signal.

The scream seemed to be a signal as Sebastian and Mathias stopped throwing their blades, and then proceeded with what seemed to have always been part of a plan. At the same time, the boys threw the respective blades and kunais they were holding towards the ground right in front of them, sinking deep and hard.

"What do they want?" the boss asked himself, trying to take a few steps forward, it was simply a pure reflex.

And here he raised his eyebrows as something seemed to be happening. “What is this?” he said to himself as he noticed what seemed to be very fine threads surrounding him in all directions. He reached out his hand towards the brakes realizing that the threads seemed to be floating, he looked at his shoulder as he looked around again.

And once again he was able to confirm that it was not a dream or anything like that, he was surrounded by fine threads that seemed to be spider web.

“These bastards!” he thought to himself, preferring to remain standing and static in his place, he didn’t want to risk moving and something being activated or that being the requirement for them to continue with the attack. The boss looked at Christopher who now had both arms facing forward with his fists clenched tightly “all this time I have been dancing in their plans... I must escape.”

“It's useless for you to try to escape, it's too late, after all you've fallen into the web and there's no way you'll get out alive” the mechanism located in Christopher's gauntlet was activated, a very strange noise came from both gauntlets, the mechanism inside the gauntlet, the one that allowed the threads to be free, turned in the opposite direction as if it were a fishing rod and automatically the threads would coil back up.

“What did you say... uggg?”

The threads seized him, leaving him completely immobile in his place. The force was so strong that they even forced him to kneel.

The rail continued to spin, tightening the threads that held it even more, now they even managed to cut it and blood was flying in the winds. All the kunais and throwing weapons embedded in the ground had Christopher's threads tied to them. They threw him to the ground so that he could serve as a point of support.

“AAAAHHHHHHH”.

The boss succumbed and screamed in despair; you could feel the fear of this guy permeate the air.

“PLEASE, I’M SO SORRY,” she begged for her life.

Mathias's skin crawled and his grimace changed to one that only denoted total disgust.

“I SWEAR THAT I HAVE NEVER KILLED ANYONE, I ASSURE YOU, I WAS ONLY DEVOTED TO GIVING INFORMATION ABOUT PEOPLE.”

“You are a bastard,” said Mathias, “how many people must have cried while begging you to let them go or worse yet,” now the demihuman clenched his fists, “that you wouldn’t abuse them, and what did you do?”

The boss seemed not to hear him, but deep inside he was being stabbed by Mathias' words which contained a high dose of truth.

“It's too late to apologize now and we know it's a total lie that you haven't killed anyone, after all,” Christopher joined in, “you belong to VARANUS which is under the wings of the largest criminal organizations that exist, they only dedicate themselves to bringing misfortune.”

“B-but that doesn’t mean me.”

“To join any of these organizations it is extremely necessary to be an assassin like you” Sebastian unsheathed his sword “you are not fooling us”.

“DON’T WAIT, I ASSURE YOU” she began to cry again “I WILL LEAVE THIS LIFE, I WANT TO RETIRE AND LIVE MY LIFE IN PEACE”.

Christopher activated the rail again, which spun backwards, further injuring the victim. “It's true that if we let you go, you won't bother us again, but you will still continue to destroy the lives of other people outside of my city. There's no point in letting you go, you won't change.”

He adjusted one last time causing the subject's hands to be stretched diagonally out to his sides. "This is not for us, but for all those who were your victims and for all those who, if you are free, will be your victims."

“NO WAIT, PLEASE I SWEAR I WILL CHANGE! I WILL NEVER HURT ANYONE AGAIN.”

The boss screamed inconsolably with his eyes almost bloodshot, tears running down his face, he cried with rage and helplessness.

“I SWEAR TO YOU, YOU WILL NEVER HEAR FROM ME AGAIN.”

He couldn't finish what he wanted to say because he felt something extremely sharp go through the middle of his pectorals "arg, aaggg" he spat out blood and closed his eyes tightly, the pain was tremendous and unbearable.

Added to that, having his arms immobilized only increased the feeling of desperation he had.

His body was covered with many scars, countless, some large and others small, but analyzing them they do not seem to have been fatal, so to speak he was never wounded so brutally.

Because of that, he didn't know how to cope with such a tremendous, deadly, brutal wound.

Pained, the boss looked down and could barely see what seemed to be the tip and a little more of what a katana is “aaggg, nn-no, s-sp-pear”. He was choking and writhing in pain as the blade that was pointing downwards turned clockwise, now facing the sky.

“N-no, p-please.”

Sebastian didn't plan on listening to him any longer, much less showing him mercy. So, using his great strength, he split the man in two, raising the katana from the pectoral area, reaching the neck and following the path until he split the skull and was finally free, splashing the subject's fluids in the surroundings.

“This is the best way to kill you, from behind, because you are nothing but a disgusting rat. I am sure that if I had given you a more honorable death, the souls of all those you have killed would torment me until the end of my days.”

Christopher sighed, cutting the threads he had used. It was not worth trying to untangle everything and put it back together again as it would take too long. He glanced at his friends, “Are you okay?”

His friends digested everything that had happened, they had killed people and just as they had told each of them, he did not feel well at all. In fact, they found it an extremely unpleasant sensation.

“Are you?” Mathias answered the question with another, making Christopher nod, even if just a little.

“Not at all,” he replied, running a hand through his hair. “I think this unpleasant feeling will haunt me for a few days.” His gaze sharpened greatly as he looked at all the lifeless bodies, each one of them dead. He felt angry, not for having killed them, but for all the people they may have killed without mercy.

“Listen, we will not show the slightest sympathy for any of these bastards,” his friends looked up at him, “they have tortured, murdered and abused who knows how many people, sold and enslaved them, totally unhappy.”

“As if we were just merchandise” Mathias clenched his fists and said what many demihumans have always thought. They treat them as if they were merchandise that only serves to increase their wealth, while they are treated like damned trash “it is as you say, these damned murderers, scum and garbage do not deserve to continue living because they would only bring more suffering to others”.

“By ending them, we would prevent more people from becoming slaves and victims of this specific organization,” added Sebastian.

“Yes,” Christopher continued, “I swear that we will save all of our people and leave none of them alive.”

They may not seem like it because they are still pumping with adrenaline, but the boys know that they had just killed people. They made an effort beyond their own limits to be able to speak calmly, the urge to vomit and shudder from the horror was insurmountable.

Even so, despite everything they felt, they were more than willing to continue until the end, they had said it, they would not leave things halfway. They would contribute everything they could, and that meant slaughtering all the damn mercenaries, he would do it even with doubts.
