Kona'an was truly surprised as he hadn't expected anyone to come rescue those two - how could we not have noticed? We should have at least been able to hear him as he approached.
Kana'an, hurt, gave him a serious look -most likely that guy used sound magic to hide the sound caused by his movement- he rubbed his abdomen, the pain was still intense in that area, but little by little it began to decrease -he seems to be strong, better not take him lightly...-.
At that precise moment, several whip-like roots once again wrapped around their bodies, causing the pair of mercenaries to become excited with some fear in them.
It was just as Christopher had thought, given the slightest chance these two could become a much bigger threat than they already were.
Once again he use Arborean Magic:
-Arborean Magic: Root Whip-.
He lifted them both up, placing them a few meters above the ground level, and then pulled them suddenly, causing both of them to hit the hard ground with their backs. Due to the strong blow, Kana'an and Kona'an felt their minds disconnect.
They saw stars floating near their integrity.
-As I expected from strong mercenaries, they are very resistant- thought Christopher repeating the magic attack, lifting them several meters above ground level and crashing them against the ground again, digging a small hole a few centimeters deep with each impact that occurred.
-I must find a way to subdue them and capture them, I am more than sure that they have a lot of information about everything that is happening with the issue of kidnappings and a possible slave organization, they could surely give us some key names- Christopher thinking quite seriously and objectively.
The mercenaries clenched their teeth quite tightly and closed their eyes even tighter, all in an attempt to endure as best as possible the physical torture currently inflicted on the two.
-I'LL KILL YOU, DAMN BASTARD! DID YOU HEAR ME? I'LL KILL ALL OF YOU- Kona'an seemed to have reached the limits of his endurance and reasoning, losing control of himself to the point of foaming at the mouth -I'LL TORTURE YOU AND THAT DAMN SEMI-HUMAN IN THE MOST HORRIBLE WAYS POSSIBLE! I'LL MAKE YOU EAT YOUR OWN INTESTINES-.
With bloodshot eyes he turned all his fury towards Diana -I WILL TURN THAT STUPID BITCH INTO A REAL WHORE! I WILL PROSTITUTE HER TO EVERYONE! I WILL ABUSE HER SO MUCH THAT HER SCREAMS WILL FLOOD OUR ENTIRE BASE AND EVEN REACH THIS PATHETIC CITY-.
Christopher wouldn't be intimidated by anything the psychopathic mercenary said, but the last sentence of the aforementioned sentence did catch his attention. He narrowed his eyes with marked interest - his screams will fill our entire base and even reach this pathetic city... He has just indirectly confirmed to me that there is a slaver base, I must get all the information possible out of him.
He glanced at the other guy out of the corner of his eye, who, unlike him, was actually quite calm. Obviously agitated, but that slaver seemed to be different from his annoying partner -I highly doubt his partner would lose control like him, he's the one I have to be careful of- and he really wasn't wrong at all, between the two of them, Kana'an was the one who had the most endurance and analytical ability, he wouldn't give in so easily and much less lose his composure just from receiving a beating.
-So you and your companions have been hunting down many people from my city by infiltrating it, you are bastards! How is it possible that you have been able to infiltrate even with all the control we carry out? - Christopher exclaimed pretending to be severely irritated and with a certain air of anguish.
-ANSWER!- he said as he approached them and managed to see what appeared to be a slave collar lying on the ground. He picked it up because now he had come up with a very good plan which, if carried out, would give him a very good source of information regarding the organization.
Christopher did his best to make every movement he made seem to be imbued with anguish, as he picked up the slave collar from the ground he looked at it with anguished eyes as if they were saying ''IT CAN'T BE''.
Kona'an, thinking that the young man was faltering and had lost all determination to fight, sketched a sadistic smile full of satisfaction -yes, we have taken many of your dear little friends, both humans, demi-humans and even some beastmen. Children and adults alike- he smiled again remembering those moments -it is quite easy to enter the city if you send some slaves, although we also have other ways-.
-You are a real idiot- thought Kana'an without disturbing the serious features of his face in the slightest -don't you realize that he is only taking information from you, he is surely only looking to confirm some doubts that he must have-.
He glanced sideways at the young man who would soon be his opponent - that boy is much smarter than I thought, but unlike the stupid Kona'an I will not be fooled so easily -.
-Damn bastards! So they've already enslaved my people- with his face immutable Christopher contained himself as much as he could so as not to explode right there.
He had been able to confirm several doubts regarding the kidnappings.
First of all, if there is an organization behind all this, second, the organization had set up its base in the vicinity of the city and third, I confirm that they have already enslaved many people living in Gignit.
Suddenly, Christopher becomes excited when he sees that Kana'an seems to be making some strange movements, even though he is still being held captive by the vines.
He immediately slammed him into the ground again, causing more damage and pain. "You are different from your partner, it is you I must take care of. That is why I will not let you escape for anything in the world." Again and again Kana'an was slammed into the ground.
Kona'an watched the torment his companion was going through and gritted his teeth as he once again crashed to the ground, although unlike his Kana'an, he just stayed there.
-D-DAMN YOU- he complained again, truly furious, when suddenly a shadow covered him. It was Christopher, who was kneeling, his hands outstretched towards him, holding something -You who have enslaved my people, you will have to know what it feels like to live a hard and miserable life of slavery-.
-DON'T YOU DARE- the scream was furious. Would he become a slave? Kona'an? That strong slave hunter would end up becoming that merchandise that he dedicated himself to capturing and selling. -GET AWAY, DAMN TRASH, IF YOU TAKE ONE MORE STEP, I SWEAR I'LL MAKE YOU A SLAVE AND I'LL DEDICATE MYSELF TO TORTURING YOU EVERY DAMN DAY OF YOUR LIFE-.
Suddenly, Christopher felt real danger threatening his being.
He looked to the side, seeing that Kana'an had managed to filter one of his arms through the vines that imprisoned him and with that he was able to hold on to the ground with all his strength. He then managed to filter the other one, pointing it at Christopher and launching a magic attack.
-Air Elemental Magic: Wind Cut-.
The magic attack headed at full speed against Christopher who unfortunately had to move out of the way of the cut, he did not want to try any defensive magic because there was a possibility that he could cut through it since there was a big difference between the enemy's strength and his own.
The wind cut passed by but not before lightly cutting the face of his partner, Kona'an, the left side of his cheek presented a deep horizontal cut from which blood was quick to flow - WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU KANA'AN? YOU ARE DAMN USELESS WHO CAN'T HIT A SINGLE ATTACK! UNTIE ME AND LET ME TAKE CARE OF EVERYTHING! -.
-SHUT UP, YOU HINDRANCE- Kana'an shouted, finally freeing himself from his prison and quickly standing up, ready for combat -you're a real idiot for revealing information about the organization and the flaws in the entrance control to the city-.
She looked at him very seriously and in a very bad way, as if he really meant nothing more than a mere obstacle to her progress - how could you not realize that it was all a deception on the part of that poor man? -
-WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU MEANING? AND AT WHAT POINT DID I GIVE HIM ALL THAT INFORMATION? Kona'an shouted from the ground, moving around trying to free himself from the vines wrapped around him, his angry state was almost palpable.
-That brat managed to take that information from you pretending not to know anything about the situation, it is more than obvious that he already knew or suspected the organization. Surely he would have only wanted to confirm if all the information he has was true and you, like a true fool, served it to him on a silver platter- said Kana'an
- BUT HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE? DID YOUR FRIENDS WHO HAVE FIGHTED WITH US TELL YOU? BUT WE DIDN'T MENTION ANYTHING ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION! JUST THAT WE WANTED TO SELL THEM- Kona'an was already filled with surprise.
-You really are an idiot, think damn it. When we fought those two we never mentioned to them that we belonged to any organization or much less that we were responsible for kidnapping the people who live here- Kona'an's eyes widened -we also didn't tell them that we used the slaves at our disposal for them to kidnap the victims and you even almost told them about that other method we used to get in- Kana'an said.
-With your stupid loose mouth you only confirmed to him that there are more of us, that we use slaves to enter the city and that we have another method to pass without the need to enter through the main entrance. You are lucky that I prevented him from placing the slave collar on you because otherwise with a single order he would force you to reveal everything. Now we only have to enslave him or kill him- and Kana'an's serious face became even more serious.
Christopher was truly serious and although he didn't show it, he was extremely surprised by the analytical capacity of that mercenary.
It was all true, even if only in broad strokes. Christopher already had an idea of the current situation and needed a method to confirm it, and what better than to hear it from the mouths of these mercenaries.
Speaking with Diana confirmed that those two were kidnappers and that they wanted to sell them and now speaking with Kona'an confirmed that some of his assumptions were true.
Kana'an deduced it all just by watching and listening.
-So you... made fun of me? DAMN YOU- once again Kona'an lost himself in madness -I'LL KILL YOU, I'LL KILL YOU, YOU DAMN IMBECIIIIL- using his strength he tried to free himself from his bonds. But Christopher would not let everything go as he wanted.
It was already too much to have to fight against just one of them, fighting against both of them would be a death sentence and even more so taking into account Kana'an's analytical skills, he would surely come up with some plan to put him against the ropes.
Taking all this into account, Christopher tightened the vines as much as possible and the pain was such that Kona'an thought that at any moment all of his internal contents would come out of his holes.
And Christopher, once again had to step aside, dodging his opponent's magical wind attacks. When he hit the ground, Kana'an was already in front of him with his fist pointing towards his face.
Christopher sent the left half of his body back as he held onto Kana'an's punch which was delivered with his right. As the left half retreated the right half advanced in an attempt to bury a well-placed elbow to Kana'an's face.
Unfortunately, he still had his left hand raised in guard, and Christopher's elbow crashed into that strong forearm as a defense. Christopher was no longer in a position to launch another attack, not even with his legs, but Kana'an was and he wouldn't let the opportunity pass.
The left leg was raised, a powerful kick promised to cause incredible pain in the area of his lower back, this could be a fatal blow which would leave Christopher at the mercy of Kana'an. It was not an option at all. So he did the best he could do in that position, he simply jumped forward passing over Kana'an's arm while his kick failed to hit the target.
-You are very good- praised Kana'an, for Christopher the praise of this kind of people meant absolutely nothing -you have excellent reflexes and you can respond to attacks in a very short time-.
-DAMN IT! RELEASE ME NOW KANA'AN- Kona'an was once again dedicated to losing control, he turned around observing the young adversary who with his guard up did not miss the slightest movement.
From one moment to the next his young adversary brought one of his hands behind his back, holding the handle of his other sword.
-What does he want?- Kana'an muttered to himself -well, maybe if I get closer he'll try to carry out some stupid attack, then I can kill him- in this way Kana'an, overconfident, started running towards Christopher who only bent his knees.
-This is my chance- when the mercenary was close enough Christopher unsheathed the sword strapped to his back, which had strange runic writings shining on it.
-A MAGIC SWORD!- this time Kana'an showed a look of fear, magic weapons really tend to be deadly. He didn't have time to analyze the weapon when his young enemy brandished it diagonally, releasing a completely violet crescent-shaped wave.
Kana'an opened his eyes in surprise, he knew how to recognize the magical essence of that violet wave - THAT'S POISON! - being about to be hit he was able to dodge it, which caused some bitterness in Christopher.
But the attack did not end there because a person was in the path of the poison.
-What is that...?- Kona'an was bathed from head to toe by that magical wave of poison. It instantly took effect and he felt his body melting from the inside. It was impossible for him to breathe normally and he began to spit blood -Krr kuarrr, arg...-.
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
Christopher did not have time to see the effects of the poison because he had to raise his sword to defend himself from Kana'an who tried to stab him in the neck.
-You really took me by surprise, that magic sword is deadly and puts me at a tremendous disadvantage- preparing another of his knife attacks, Kana'an launched an upward blow that Christopher once again tried to block with the sword. He succeeded, but at a high price, Kana'an did not intend to stab him but rather hit the handle part of the weapon.
With this Christopher completely lost his grip on the weapon and it flew off into the distance, disappearing into the bushes.
-SHIT! - Now it was Christopher who was beginning to lose his calm, he once again held his own sword that had always accompanied him with both hands, it was on his left arm -how could he dodge the poison at that distance?-.
"I did well to dodge the poison," Kana'an commented, laughing softly and pointing at his companion. "Look what it does, it seems that its effect is paralyzing and acts immediately."
-KANA'AN HELP ME!...- still held by the vines, Kona'an called out to his companion reluctantly -THE POISON IS KILLING ME... I FEEL LIKE IT'S MELTING-.
Kana'an sighed again with too much boredom and trying to ignore his partner -I won't do it, your uselessness and inability to think of any way to escape is what led you to this pathetic end, so keep quiet and don't bother me anymore-.
-Now- thought Christopher because his opponent had made one of the worst mistakes that can be made in battle, getting distracted, which could mean death.
He attacked with his precious sword, using it with two hands. Kana'an just stepped aside, hoping that Christopher's sword would bury itself in the ground and thus have him at his mercy.
Christopher knew this would happen, so he didn't lunge too hard and was able to stop it before it hit the ground. Everything was in his favor, starting with the position of his legs, his arms, and the flexibility and strength in his shoulders.
So from his position and like a lightning bolt he launched a diagonal slash, there was no way Kana'an could dodge it -I got you-.
But he did it.
It's true that he was quite surprised by Christopher's skill, but as far as experience goes, he was far superior. He had lived through countless similar experiences, his body was quite used to this type of situation so out of pure reflex he moved. He didn't even think about it, it was as if his body acted on its own. From his crouched position Kana'an could launch a powerful attack to Christopher's midsection and he wouldn't waste such an opportunity.
-You are far from my level- Kana'an did not miss the opportunity to be above his young adversary, he sent his powerful blow and this time imbued it with magic.
Earth Elemental Magic: Rock Fist-.
Hitting Christopher's abdomen full on, who withstood the blow as best he could, but the force of the impact dragged his feet backwards.
Guhaaa.
He spat out some blood, but quickly worked to regain his composure. He wanted to rub the area of impact, but that would cause him to let his guard down, and that measly window of time where his enemy let his guard down could finish him off.
"You surprise me," Kana'an commented, and he wasn't smiling at all. He was actually quite surprised because the young man in front of him had resisted a tremendous magic attack without complaint. "You are able to withstand physical punishment, I assume you performed some magic reinforcement spell, right?"
-This guy is really good at analyzing others- Christopher thought to himself, trying to make some sign that would prove his opponent right.
-From your silence I assume I hit the target- Kana'an crouched down grabbing two of the many throwing knives which are scattered throughout the battlefield as a result of the confrontation between him and his partner against Mathias and Diana -unfortunately for you I have experience dealing with people who fight by strengthening their bodies. In truth you have no other option but to become a slave or die-.
-You have no idea how much I hate people of your kind, who think they can do whatever they want with others. Who treat them like mere merchandise- complained Christopher, his forehead bleeding as heavy drops of blood slid down his forehead to the ground -Once I'm done with you, I'll make sure you're locked away forever...-.
-I hope you have the strength to back up those words-.
With that, Kana'an, using his swords, formed an x and advanced at high speed towards Christopher who already had his sword ready to attack.
The sharp weapons collided, the impact of one against the other produced a lot of sparks which spread in the winds.
-He's very strong- thought Christopher, being pushed little by little, his feet dragging backwards while Kana'an advanced with a confident smile.
-You won't take care of us?- Kana'an pushed Christopher away, slashing left and right, horizontally and vertically, and diagonally. Christopher was now on the defensive, deflecting each of his opponent's attacks using his precious sword.
-I have to do something, otherwise we'll be lost- thought Christopher.
Meanwhile, far from the action, Diana watched the violent combat, which unfortunately leaned in favor of Kana'an. Christopher was strong and she did not doubt it at all, but his adversary, that former knight, far outclassed him and that could be seen in the expressions of both of them.
While Christopher clenched his teeth tightly and his features twisted into one of pure nervousness and stress, his opponent smiled mockingly at him, giving him a few slashes with his knives.
-Christopher...- she muttered to herself, fearing for the integrity of the person she had been in love with for years -please...-.
A punch slipped past Christopher's defense, hitting him square in the face, making him take a few steps back. He caught his breath and when his enemy was ready to continue with his action, he proceeded.
-Earth Elemental Magic: Rock Control-.
Kana'an had never felt so stupid for being too confident, he fell into such a basic magic spell that it would haunt him for a long time.
As Kana'an stepped onto the hard ground, a rock rose beneath his feet, causing him to completely lose his balance and stumble forward. "Shit..." As he looked forward, Kana'an watched as Christopher swung his sword at him, launching a horizontal slash.
SLASH
It was the sound of the sword as it completed its stroke, the moan of pain was not long in coming -aaggrrrr- now Kana'an had a cut that covered his entire chest, his eyes wide open as he tried to compose himself as best he could.
Unlike Kana'an, Christopher's confidence wasn't floating in the sky.
He knew that that cut wouldn't make the slightest difference because even though it was a fairly deep cut, his opponent could still continue without problems - damn, why didn't he cut off his hand, that way he would have a much greater advantage because he would be left with only one arm -.
His thoughts made a lot of sense, if he cut off Kana'an's arm he would gain a huge disadvantage, fighting like that while losing blood would only lead to his defeat. But due to the heat of the moment he opted to launch a slash with his sword resulting in only a medium-depth cut and now his opponent would be much more cautious when fighting.
-Trust me- Kana'an actually looked incredibly serious, completely ignoring the blood seeping through his clothing -that won't happen again, the game is over and we should end this pathetic fight-.
Kana'an has shown his true colors. He did not do it out of anger or frustration, but rather because he felt that if the battle dragged on, it could become more complicated - there is a possibility that he is just buying time for reinforcements to arrive.
With that Kana'an lowered his arms leaving his knives in view, he moved him from one side to the other hugging himself repeatedly -what is he doing...?- Christopher thought before feeling one of those knives bury itself in his left thigh.
He looked down at the impact area, staring in disbelief at the knife stuck in his thigh. He realized - a distraction! He must have thrown it just when I momentarily diverted my eyes to his.
When he looked back at his opponent, who was already running towards him, he threw a powerful punch hitting him squarely in the right cheek, tilting his head. Due to the force of the impact, Christopher would take a few steps back, but not before Kana'an recovered his knife with which he tried to stab him again.
But Christopher would react in time by kicking his opponent's ribs, unfortunately Kana'an seemed not to have felt anything, so in the end he was able to get away with it by stabbing Christopher in the abdomen area.
The young Lord couldn't help but close his eyes tightly and clench his teeth in an attempt to dull the pain. Kana'an then stabbed the area once more.
Christopher spat out blood and Diana felt desperate -no… please no-.
What she didn't know was that unlike the one she received, Christopher's was not as deep because at the time of the stabbing he was in a certain position in which only the tip of the knife could penetrate his skin.
-Very clever of you- Kana'an commented seriously -with your kick you put distance between us so that the wound I would cause with the knife would not be so deep. Are you really a PORCELAIN rank adventurer?-.
Christopher breathed with great weariness, it is true, he knew that he would not escape the stab wound, but at least it would reduce the lethality of the stab wound as much as possible.
Still, it didn't mean that I was safe from pain - he's very skilled with a knife and doesn't miss the slightest opportunity to stab me, the balance he has between attack and defense is... that's it! - it seemed as if at the end of the dark tunnel Christopher could see a small light of hope.
-Despite being at a disadvantage, the aura around him has changed- Kana'an became more serious than he already was and meticulously analyzed the situation. For some strange reason, Christopher no longer presented that air of uncertainty that his gaze conveyed.
This made Kana'an uneasy, he didn't understand why but he felt afraid. So he took a few steps back and adopted the guard position.
Christopher pointed his sword at him, making Kana'an's skin crawl and he braced himself for anything. Kana'an could see Christopher's lips moving, as if he was saying something under his breath.
-Sound Magic: Internal Sound Impact-.
With a dagger which he always kept in his belt, he struck the metal of his sword, sending out terrible sound waves which would incredibly affect his opponent.
His sword did not come out unscathed as it had been shattered from the middle to the tip.
Kana'an still didn't know what the hell his young opponent had done, until he felt it firsthand -AAAAHHHHHHH- a horrible, terrifying screech brutally hit his ears, his eyes watered, his nose seemed to be running more than usual and his ears began to bleed.
The blow to the inside of his ears was so brutal that it even severely affected his balance, making him unable to stand any longer.
PUNCH.
Christopher wouldn't waste the opportunity and unleashed a brutal barrage of punches, kicks and cuts on the mercenary with his broken sword.
Kana'an was literally foaming at the mouth, his body badly wounded, bruised and cut back with the attacks successfully carried out by Christopher. He stabbed him with the broken sword, cut him, punched him with his fists and kicked him.
Still, Kana'an refused to lose consciousness. He tried to respond with some kind of attack, but Christopher used the magic spell once more, and now Kana'an was truly out of his mind.
Noticing this, he would not let this incredible opportunity to defeat his opponent pass him by, and he would not make the same mistake he made before. With his sword he attacked the elbow joints, piercing it, breaking it and amputating it. Now, that arm will never be useful again. All that remains is to knock him out.
-Earth Elemental Magic: Rock Fist-.
He formed a giant rock fist which he was more than willing to bury against his opponent - you will feel the same pain you caused my friends -. To say the least, the blow was brutal and savage. The entire arm and rock fist literally exploded in Kana'an's face who now had a horrible wound on his face.
If Kana'an doesn't want to end with sequels, that should be addressed as soon as possible.
-Fuuu- Christopher sighed, now resenting the pain -it's finally over- he had defeated the mercenary and the other was tightly bound and poisoned. In his opinion, everything should be fine now.
He relaxed his tense shoulders and pressed one hand to the wounds on his abdomen. He felt the pain run through his entire body.
Being stabbed is not a remotely pleasant sensation at all - shit, it hurts - he said with some annoyance as he felt the stabbing pain with every step he took - but at least it's all over -.
Step by step he approached his friends and looked at the two: Diana smiling happily and Mathias still unconscious, his wounds will not allow him to wake up until at least they are treated. The blows he received were not light at all. Mathias should be treated as soon as possible.
- Can you walk? Or do you want me to carry you? - he said, smiling at Diana.
-Carry me, but only if it's like a princess- said Diana before getting serious- your wounds...-.
-I'm more worried about you guys- Christopher pointed at her and Mathias with his finger -you guys had to hold out for much longer and against both of you, I was lucky to poison one and be able to fight alone against the other. Right now you guys are more important-.
He helped her stand up while he couldn't help but think of Selestia -what you say, sounds like something Selestia would say-.
-In fact, that's something she always tells me. According to her, I'm more important than herself- Christopher smiling sweetly.
-And according to you, she is more important... I know, it's a brotherly thing. The same thing happens to me with Sebastian- Diana smiling.
-Uggg, agggg- they could hear Mathias' moans from the side.
The demi-human really gave his all, doing everything possible to prevent these bastards from getting away with it. He used his race magic even in such a deplorable state, protected Diana with his body, and endured the powerful punishments delivered by the mercenaries.
-Let me take him- said Diana -it's the least I can do for him, to protect me when I could no longer continue fighting and received attacks that were directed at me-.
-If you want, I can carry him- said Christopher, he couldn't let someone who was too injured and who could probably barely walk take care of someone who was even worse off. Unlike the two, Christopher wasn't hurt to that degree -I'll use wind magic and float him away. I'll do the same with those two too-.
Diana began to tremble.
"Chri-Christopher," Diana muttered, her face twisted into an expression of pure dread. For some reason Diana looked like she was dying of fear as her body seemed to tremble on its own.
Christopher didn't understand her expression -Diana, what's wrong?-.
-He-He-He got up...-.
In slow motion, Christopher turned his head to look behind him, and slowly his eyes widened to the point where his eyeballs almost popped out of their sockets. They seemed to twitch as veins began to adorn the entire sclera.
- D-Do you think you beat me with that? - Amputated arm, affected and bleeding inner ear, lack of balance, a bleeding and severely injured face, cuts and bruises all over his body. Still, this guy was standing, ready to keep fighting? The answer? Yes, because in his healthy hand he was tightly gripping the knife with which he intended to launch himself at Christopher.
The young Lord, out of pure reflex, positioned Diana behind him. He was now almost in a state of shock. He didn't know what to think, what to say or what to do. It was his first fight to the death against someone he couldn't defeat with anything he threw at her.
He trembled slightly -these are real fighters- for a moment the image of that former SILVER rank adventurer came to his mind and now he was extremely sure -that guy must have been pretending- the fat slaver had said that he was a former SILVER rank but he himself decided to flee with only a few slight bumps and cuts.
Now in front of him is a mercenary and former knight with the level of a BRONZE rank, who was far stronger than that fat supposed SILVER rank, definitely a stupid lie that he must have told to intimidate his young adversary.
Another big difference is the feeling of strength and bloodlust they gave off. The supposed SILVER rank had a feeling of uneasiness and a powerful bloodlust. But this guy's is far superior to those feelings. Here Christopher is feeling like he's about to die and Kana'an was just standing there.
It was the bloodlust he released into the air that had him on high alert.
Diana was so scared that she was almost paralyzed. She had been wanting to say a few words for a while, but it was impossible. She was mute and her mouth was open.
-How are you even able to stand up? - Christopher was sweating profusely, he was too nervous and stressed. He couldn't think of a way to keep fighting.
-Your first attack of sound magic left me deaf on this side- with his healthy hand he pointed to his right ear -I was very lucky that it was only on one side, when you cast the second one I had to push away all the pain you were causing me and cast reinforcement magic on myself, I wouldn't allow you to leave me completely deaf, you damn bastard-.
-Diana- he called out loud -take Mathias and get as far away from this place as you can, I don't know how the battle will progress if he and I resume the fight, it's beyond my expectations. He's much stronger than I thought-.
Diana -but now he is very tired and hurt, don't you think that at least between the two of us we could do something?- she was right, but each word she spoke had been said with such uncertainty because she didn't even seem to be sure if they could face him.
Christopher gritted his teeth and frowned and had to refuse -I can't risk you like that, we don't know what that guy is capable of even in those conditions. If we fight I'm not sure I can protect you and attack him at the same time- Christopher looked at her again -so please leave right now-.
Diana felt like a burden in this fight and that frustrated her too much -I don't want to abandon you, please, he's alone now so let me help you- even with fear suffocating her, she was willing to give her all to help him.
-Diana, please understand- he reproached her, making her lower her head and her shoulders tense -that guy is superior to us, so go away, I don't want you to hurt yourself more than you already are-.
-H-help-help me- incredibly Kona'an was still conscious, although the poison was killing him slowly and painfully -antidote, take it away- he asked his partner to steal the antidote from Christopher thinking that he really had it.
For Kana'an they were dead words.
-That's what your impulsive attitude is causing. So hurry up and perish at once- Kona'an opened his eyes wide listening to what his partner in crime had said -I'm not going to help you for anything, keep quiet and accept your fate... dying poisoned, really pathetic-
-Diana, it's now or never. Go now!-.
She could only nod, shedding a few tears. She had to obey because she always knew that Christopher was right. She would only be a hindrance so she simply tried to lift Mathias. Christopher positioned himself and prepared a magic attack to throw him. Kana'an, with the knife occupying his only hand, lifted him in an offensive manner.
Kona'an writhing in pain and rage in pain.
ROOAAAAAAAARRRRR
A terrifying, deathly roar swept through the place, making only one thing clear: Something truly evil was coming.
