Chapter 15

Green, violent energy radiated from the spell Pami was Weaving. The Weave screamed at Draven, bombarding his mind with warnings of danger. He knew he did not want to get hit by whatever Pami was Weaving.

“Nia, Chris, and Warren. You three go help Mydren fight the other Al’Manti.” Pami then turned to the white-haired man and the women in form-fitting black athletic wear. “You two tie him down so I can hit him.”

The group of five mystics split up. Three going towards Sygvar and Mydren. And the final two heading directly for Draven

Draven smiled. His heart was beating faster and faster, and the adrenaline flowing through his veins made him feel alive. He loved fighting, so he switched his sword-fighting style to the third Kata, a balance of offense and defense.

The white-haired man came first, armed with twin daggers. He attacked swiftly, getting close to Draven.

Draven leaned out of the way of his attack. The man over-extended, and Draven headed-butted him. Blood gusted from the man’s nose upon impact.

The women in all back came next. Metal gauntlets cover her fists. She struck out at Draven in a blur of attacks. Draven dodged every single one. He then grabbed her arm, pulled her in, and kneed her in the stomach. She rose off the ground from the attack. Draven let her go, allowing her to fall to a knee, clutching her stomach.

The air howled as something rushed towards Draven. Draven turned, coming face to face with a deadly green bolt of energy flying towards him. Essence surged into his sword, and the kinetic aura around the blade intensified. Draven struck the bolt, deflecting it off to his side. The green bolt landed on the ground and exploded, taking out a massive chunk of concrete.

“It looks like your attack failed,” Draven then turned around to find Pami. An array of green energy bolts hovered around above her. His eyes widen, “Damn it.”

Pami smirked and launched five more at Draven.

Draven was prepared to hold his ground, but then both mystics picked themselves up and came at Draven again. Draven changed his mind, opting to run away instead. The five bolts of green energy zipped through the air, crackling with explosive energy as they chased after Draven. The two mystics chased after Draven behind the bolts of energy.

Draven stopped and jerked left, where he had just been. One of the bolts of energy landed on the ground and exploded. Draven had one of his parallel minds construct four force bolts. He aimed at one of the green bolts of energy and fired one of his force bolts at it. The two bolts collided in mid-air and exploded. Draven fired the rest of his bolts, but only one managed to hit one of Pami’s green bolts. The others missed when Pami directed her bolts to dodge.

Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon.

Draven kept running, but the two green explosive bolts closed in on him; he cursed himself for not getting healed fully at the hospital. He turned around at the last second, deflecting one with his sword. But the last one hit him in the chest and exploded. Draven fell to the floor, his chest in pain and his ears ringing from the explosion. He opened his eyes, finding himself half-blind from the blinding green light of the blast. He looked down at his chest and saw a huge bloody hole. He directed one of his parallel minds to use body supremacy to heal the wound. Flesh began to regrow as Essence cycled to the wound. Draven slowly got to his knees.

The white-haired mystic appeared before Draven, punching his face. Draven fell face-first back on the ground.

A kick to the gut by the black-clad mystic woman sent Draven rolling on the ground in pain.

Draven laughed; even though he was losing, he was having fun. His essence reserves were running low, but Draven would go down in fighting at his best instead. He unleashed a surge of Essence into his system. His eyes and Sygaldry tattoos illuminated the area around him. The wound in his chest began to close faster as new flesh began to grow. His kinetic aura surrounded him once more, and Draven willed himself to the sky, floating above the Mystics and Pami, who had joined them. He smiled down at them and then launched himself at them.

Draven landed in their center, blowing each of them back. First, Draven snapped his attention to Pami. He condensed a ball of Kinetic energy and launched it at the Rebel leader. She blocked it with her sword, but the energy exploded, blasting her backward.

Draven grabbed the white-haired mystic by the arm and slammed him into the black-clad mystic. He then kicked the white-haired mystic away.

Pami came charging in at Draven. She had completely transformed, her skin becoming purple and her body gaining muscle. Her hair and eyes had become an abyss of black void. He punched Draven in the stomach, but his Kinetic aura prevented her from hitting him. Draven swung his sword at Pami’s neck, which she deflected. He then kicked her in the leg, which she only grunted at.

The two other mystics picked themselves up from the ground. They had surged their Essence as well. Their eyes and Sygaldry-covered weapons were glowing with power. White hair stabbed at Draven. Draven dodged straight into a punch from Black clothes that landed in his ribs. Pami’s sword came next; Draven held his hand up, stopping the blade with a thick layer of force.

Pami pushed harder, and Draven’s aura began to yield. He was tired, and his Essence was running low. Draven screamed and released a huge blast of kinetic energy, blowing back his opponents. He fell to his knee, breathing heavily with a smile on his face. His aura disappeared as his Essence reserves dwindled to nothing. Someone grabbed him back by the neck, pulling him to his feet. Looking down at the purple arm around his neck, he realized it was Pami.

“Give up, or I’ll kill him!” Pami yelled.

Sygvar stopped fighting and turned to look at Draven. He put his sword down and held his hands up.

“Restrain them and throw them into the cells below,” Pami said, and she threw Draven to the ground and walked away.
