They’d missed dinner and breakfast due to the chaos unfolding, and Leo and Marem were grateful to take a moment to eat what they wanted and relax. And they truly could eat whatever they craved. Marem couldn’t explain how it worked, but the fridge in the kitchen had been magically enchanted.
What you desired, it would have it ready to grab once the door was opened. Leo used the time to test the limits of just what this machine could do. It could summon edible items, anything considered food. But, while Marem had only been able to grab ingredients before, it was possible to have the fridge create entire meals for you.
“Oh my Gods, what is this, it’s incredible,” asked Marem.
“That’s called a milkshake, and they’re one of the best things to come from Earth.”
Leo spent the morning not only eating the foods he missed from home, but he was also able to give Marem a taste of what Earth cuisine was like. Her dad had apparently shared some Earth foods, but he had kept far too many meals hidden from her.
After they gorged themselves on fast food, the two of them headed back to Marem’s room. Marem had told him that even if her dad was already better, he would need some time to cool off before talking to Leo. So their plan was to sit down and figure out what their next move is.
The two brought along a tray of food, in case they got hungry, and rearranged the room. There were two chairs for them to sit on, alongside a large whiteboard that Marem had grabbed. Leo found it funny that she had a whiteboard, but she didn’t know what plastic was when he asked.
“Okay, last thing, just try a bit of this,” he offered her a slice of pizza.
She took a bite, contemplating the flavor. “It’s alright, not too different from the other toppings.”
“I may have just lost my respect for you. You actually like pineapple pizza?” he asked.
She rolled her eyes. “Just said it’s alright, not that big of a deal. And I’m not taking this from the guy who ate a demon-hog sandwich. You know that stuff takes a quarter of your lifespan, right?”
“What the hell, really?”
She laughed at him. “No idiot, obviously not. Oh, I’m so going to mess with you over things you don’t know.”

“That’s rich coming from the girl who thought Naruto was a real person,” he teased.
“It’s not my fault that my dad lied! He said that was Earth history, how would I know that’s wrong?”
“Fine, fine, whatever you say. Alright, let’s actually figure out what we’re going to do.”
The two of them failed to stay on task for a while longer. There were still so many foods that Leo wanted to show off, and Marem had countless questions to ask about Earth. Leo discovered that she had a very, anime-centric education regarding the planet.
“Okay, getting on topic, so what do you know about the living legends?” asked Leo.
“Well, they’re the five strongest adventurers to exist, as far as I know. My dad used to be part of their party, but he decided to leave after they defeated Nacibrill. He claimed that he was the strongest out of them, but that was years ago. So we don’t really know just how strong they are, except for our encounter with Venox,” she explained.
“We did beat Venox though, and I just managed to beat your dad. Even if we assumed both of them were holding back, I was also restraining my strength.”
“You were? Why the hell would you do that?”
“Well, the first reason was that I didn’t want to kill them. Killing Venox would guarantee we’re enemies of the kingdom for life, and your dad is your dad. But also, we kept fighting in crowded places. What if I got too aggressive and the castle collapsed? Think of how many innocent people would die.”
Marem got up and started writing on the whiteboard. “Hm, alright, we can make this work. So if we try to avoid populated areas, then it should be easier to fight the legends.”
“Well, what about you? I can’t risk getting you hurt as collateral.”
“Don’t worry, I can handle my own safety. And watching out for one person is still easier than a hundred. So if we’re going to try and stay near low population areas, how do we track down Cordylia?”
“Hm, yeah, that’s going to be a pain. We need to look through cities to try and find traces of her, but that puts the legends at an advantage when it comes to hunting us down. I don’t want to just sit here and do nothing while hoping the kingdom can handle this, though.”
“Yeah, I’m not the type to just hope for a hero to save me. Honestly, if we could find a way to track her down without random searching, that would be a big advantage. The longer we spend in any city, the better chances the kingdom finds out where we are.”
“Well, your dad was a famous hero, right? It’s a long shot, but we might as well try and ask him for help. Maybe he has a hivemind tracker or something equally dumb.”
“Gods, is asking him for help really the best option?”
“Sadly, it is.”
The two of them accepted that they would need help from Marem’s dad. Even if Leo had planned to talk with him about Earth, needing his help was different. He doubted that her dad would be so quick to lend them a hand, but there wasn’t any other option
