Mark ran back off to Mr. Carrog, as he told him all about how Leo fought off the rock boys. Leo walked over to where Marem was sitting, as he took a seat beside her.
“Found one,” he grinned at her.
“Shocked that you did, but happy that you have,” Marem responded, “we should go out and look for more survivors now that we know there are more out there.”
“I’d like to help out any other survivors, but can we actually set up a whole camp?” asked Leo.
She responded, “If you break out the supplies from the frozen room, we should have more than enough food and supplies for everyone.”
“Yeah, I’ll happily break up the ice. But what about when we leave?” he continued.
“Well, we need to leave if we plan to learn about the infection even if it means leaving Mark behind. I’d accept leaving him here with just Carrog, but I don’t think an elderly man and a young kid would be able to defend themselves from a monster attack,” she explained.
“Alright, you seem to have thought this out more than I did. I’ll go break out the supplies, then we’ll go out and look for more people?” Leo responded.
“Yes, that is our plan.”
Marem worked to convince Mark to help her search through the city, but Mr. Carrog asked to stay behind and rest. Leo walked to the room where Philips faced the Spike Devil. He gently pulled the doors open, which had been closed to avoid anyone seeing the gruesome scene.
The blood stained ice was frozen in time, and it hadn’t melted a drop since the fight just a few hours ago. He couldn’t tell for certain if it was due to the magical nature of the ice or something else, but he figured it didn’t matter either way.
He crawled through the frigid burrow in the ice, as he approached a handful of frozen crates. Leo used his hands to grab large chunks of ice and rip them out, as he cleared a path to the crates. It took care to shatter the surrounding ice while avoiding any accidental damage to the crates, but with enough time he was able to do it.
He realized his dug path would need even more work before Leo could use it, as the path had proven to be too narrow for the wide crates. This was when Leo had an idea, as he walked face first into the nearby ice wall in the direction of the door. As he walked forward, the ice in front of him simply broke apart against his pressure.

With the larger path made, it would be far easier to carry out supplies. He took a few back and forth trips to make the burrow large enough for easy travel. With the path carved, he began moving the crates back to the room they were housed in.
When he dropped down the crates, the others looked on in interest at the supplies. Leo realized he didn’t look to see what was in the crates before he brought them over. With four crates laid before them, he decided to have a classic unboxing video.
He ripped the top off of the first crate, which seemed to be filled to the brim with sealed buckets. Leo picked one up cautiously, as he gently popped the top off. It seemed to be filled with some liquid, he hoped it was healing potions or something magical.
“That’s good, we needed more water,” commented Marem.
Then he remembered that sadly not everything was magical. Marem began filling up the empty canteens, as Leo moved on to the second crate. The top snapped off easily, as it was filled with piles of rations. The packaged containers labeled all sorts of interesting foods that caught Leo’s eye.
He felt his hunger awakened at the sight, and as he looked at the near salivating crowd, he saw that the feeling was mutual. Leo grabbed some of the rations and passed them around.
The label on Leo’s rations indicated that it was some form of pasta, as he opened it to find a steaming hot fresh bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. He looked at the others and saw their rations also seemed to be in great condition despite the fact they were held in what was a giant freezer. He couldn’t help but remember the soup in the desert, and thought that maybe it was magical too.
He used the provided utensils to dig into the meal. This was his first meal since he got here to have meat in it, save for the cup of soup Marem shared with him. Leo enjoyed the spices and flavors of the pasta, as it gave the meal a salivating aroma, but he felt underwhelmed by the overall taste. He realized that he still preferred homemade meals over the rations.
He still finished his meal happily, as he put away the empty container and the now destroyed utensils. He was a lot better at containing his strength, but he still struggled to not destroy forks when he used them. The rest of the group also finished up their meals, and afterwards Mr. Carrog helped clean the mess.
Leo moved on to open the next crate, which was filled with medical supplies. Marem rushed over to sort through them, as she swatted Leo away from the crate.
“Don’t intend to cause you offense, Leo, but we can’t risk these getting broken or damaged,” she explained, as she moved around the supplies.
Leo shrugged it off and moved to the last crate, the final part of his newfound unboxing series. He opened it up to find it nearly overflowing with weapons. They seemed to range from swords to bows, with even some of the mines that he saw Philps use earlier. Mr. Carrog had to stop Mark from attempting to play with the weapons.
With the crates opened, Leo felt secure that they would have all the supplies needed to keep a camp of survivors well stocked. He saw Marem and Mark prepared to leave, as he knew it was time to find survivors to fill the camp.
