It was a hot afternoon. I sat before my laptop, thinking about what else I could post on social media that day. I had no content, but that had never stopped me before.
I went outside and stared at the road, hoping some disabled person would appear before me, or a malnourished child, or a female food delivery person, but my lousy luck knew no bounds that day. None of them appeared, not even a jobless guy.
Drenched in sweat, I got back inside and turned on the television. I begged the screen to show me something good: an entrepreneur’s birthday or a juicy political fight, a high-profile marriage, a bloody war, or some celebrity’s stupid statement, but nothing came up. I was disappointed and went to sleep with nothing else to do that day.

Five minutes into the sleep, I remembered something important. When you don’t have content, you can do one of two things: copy from someone else or repeat your previous posts. Copy usually has a higher chance of getting more likes, so I opened social media and visited my favorite influencer’s past posts. Copied a tearjerker post, changed the names of the people involved, intentionally forgot to give the influencer a credit, and posted it. Sure enough, I had several likes, comments, and shares within half an hour.
