A month later, Samuel, Helydia, and Kai had traveled through several villages on their way to the capital, "Chronos." Their young team had built a modest reputation by completing various adventurer quests: freeing farmers from local bandits, hunting wild beasts threatening the herds, and helping artisans recover stolen items. These adventures, although often simple, strengthened their skills and their cohesion.
Samuel, now at level 29, had learned to master a new skill, "Wind Slash" which allowed him to launch blades of wind with his sword, capable of slicing through the air and neutralizing several enemies at a distance with formidable precision. Each fight made him more confident in using this technique, while Helydia, on her side, had reached level 27.
She was frustrated that Samuel had not only caught up to her but had also surpassed her in such a short time. Worse still, the skill she had chosen, once again, had been picked at random, a choice that irritated Samuel to no end. As a former general and strategist, he hated the idea of leaving anything to chance.
Kai, the youngest of the group, had reached level 7. Under Samuel's wise guidance, he had chosen his very first skill: "Localization" This ability allowed him to detect the presence of a target within a radius of 20 meters, thus facilitating the tracking of enemies. With each level gained, the detection radius expanded, increasing its ability to spot targets from a distance. Kai turned out to be a strategic asset, capable of providing crucial information in the heat of battle.
During the past month, every evening, after sharing intimate moments, Helydia taught Samuel the language of this world. These learning sessions not only strengthened their language skills but also their personal bond.
Stolen story; please report.
By the end of the month, Samuel was able to communicate relatively well, although his strong accent still revealed his foreign origins. "You are progressing quickly " she often said to him with a tender smile, appreciating the efforts he was making to fit in and understand the subtleties of the local language.
Despite the occasional tensions arising from differences in progress and skills, the team remained united. Their determination did not waver, and each quest completed brought them a little closer to their common goal. However, Samuel couldn't help but wonder if Helydia's random choices could one day jeopardize their carefully laid plans.
One day, during a rocky boars hunt, Samuel finally reached level 30. Wiping his blood-stained hands on a piece of cloth, he opened his interface to select his new skill. Suddenly, an unexpected message appeared in the middle of the screen: "Additional reward available."
Intrigued, Samuel furrowed his brows and turned to Helydia. "There is a message that just appeared, it talks about 'Additional reward available', What is that ?" Does he demand, his voice resonating in his mind so that only Helydia can hear it.
Helydia, curious, moved closer to him and thought in response: "It's probably related to your class choice and your element. Now that you have reached level 30, it's time to choose your path."
A surge of frustration rose in Samuel. He turned to Helydia, his eyes shining with irritation. "You couldn't talk to me about it earlier, when I asked you to explain everything to me about the skills and levels ?" he grumbled, showing his annoyance.
Helydia shrugged slightly, clearly embarrassed. "I must have forgotten..." She murmured, but her nonchalant tone only heightened Samuel's irritation.
