Unaging or completely unkillable?

Unaging or completely unkillable?

The next seven chambers went by in a flash as we defeated all the spiders, but ones we got down to the ninth chamber we found ourselves at the bottom of the nest where the last spiders had gathered to form an enormous army of creepy critters. All the way at the back of this spider army was a giant spider with nuclear green stripes and spots all over its body, this was the brood queen that supplied the nest with all its creepy occupants. To kill it was to kill the sustainability of the entire nest which meant that she had some hardcore protection.

Three giant eight legged creatures with mantis claws stood between her and us, and for the first time there were more flow spiders than small spiders, there were also new types of spiders which had way thicker armor of were fast as all hell. The brood queen also seemed to have the ability to lead her children which she used to block my railgun bold with their bodies and having them use some rudimentary tactics.

This made the battle just that much more fun, even Vigil was now sort of enjoying himself as he demolished the weaker bugs. At this point I had had some time to use my sextuple blade and I had learned to use it a bit better, but while fighting I remembered I had a power which could learn and improve for me so I don’t have to, so I created my fighting AI which quickly improved my sword play and probably made it look like I was a professional.

And as my fighting had now improved, I was quickly plowing through all the spiders in my way at insane speeds, so fast that I was now really close to the brood queen, close enough in fact that no matter how fast she reacted, my railgun bolt would reach her and kill her. So, I took my stance, readied my weapon and...

My arm had been removed by one of the queen's personal guards. In my distracted state I had not seen it coming and my Shield ability was not enough to stop its insanely sharp claws from cutting it off, and as a second guard was moments away from taking my head of there was no thought in my mind but one,

“This is the way I die again, have I wasted my second chance just to die long before I reach my goal.” I thought as my mind went blank.

“Don’t worry father.” a voice in my head whispered

When I regained consciousness, I was surrounded by nothing but death, all the bugs as well as the guards and even the queen had been either been partially or completely vaporized, everything in a 50-meter radius was destroyed and luckily my party members were outside of that range as that would have been a disaster.

If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

Apparently, I had shot powerful beams of light in all directions which cut through everything and even melted the rock in the walls of the nest, leaving no spots in the radius undamaged except for the place where my arm had been laying on the ground, so using my flow magic I picked it up and then asking my armorer AI to reconnect it, it worked again like new.

*New skill: Self repair*

At this point most of the bugs had been defeated and the others were just finishing of the last few.

“So, what do we need for proof of completion?” I asked still a little shaken up by my near-death experience

“Well, we need the head of the queen as proof, but we can also take the exoskeleton from the queen and her guards to sell, also the spider silk is quite useful.” Vigil answered

“Aigh (yes in dwarven), the chitin is a good material for light but strong armor and the silk is good for extremely strong rope or clothing.” Grog continued

We started disassembling the spiders by slicing their armor into sheets of chitin, then tied them in big, connected bundles that we could drag back to the surface, we did the same with the silk and the head of the brood queen and then we returned to the surface where I grew back to my normal size. I created two bucked like things that connected and could hang on the back and front of my torso. In the end we got most of the chitin and silk from almost a thousand spiders into my satchels and went back to Azure tower to deliver our proof of completion.

This battle was one of great discoveries. I found out that my immortality is one of unaging more than one of complete deathlessness, I also found out a lot about my new party members, although I still have a few questions.

“Eliz, how is it that you use more than one magic type even though Vigil said most life only has one type?” I asked

“Well, I actually have just one type which is Fire/ Ice but using the Flow conduit in my staff I could imitate the power.” answered Eliz

“Most sentient life has a magic conduit infused into them from birth which is what they use to turn magical energy which is called Ether into actual magic.” continued Vigil

“Along with that they also have a storage which is called your Ether pool and a maximum output of magic which is called your Ether flow, the combination of these factors decides what magic you can use, how much magic power you have and in what volumes you can use it.” he said

“If someone was to acquire a conduit and put it in a staff or other weapon, they could direct their Ether toward it to use the type of magic that the conduit controls, although you need a larger amount of Ether to use it as it is much less efficient with the conversion” Eliz continued

“Is that inefficiency also the reason why you were having trouble keeping a stable flow of magic during the last fight?” I asked expectedly

Again, the mood of the entire group darkened as Eliz spoke,

“No... no, that has a different cause.” she said as a sadness spread over her face
