Gegnir was planning ahead but he didn’t have to since two hours after the meeting Meka made a move. He set off with seven hundred men. As I promised I informed the Jarl about the enemy's movement. It took only half an hour for Verherm’s soldiers to get ready. The army was made mainly of foot soldiers. There were around a hundred archers and fifty horsemen. Before we left Gegnir made a speech to inform civilians about the current situation. As we were marching to the gate the town folks were cheering for save return. Of course, the general was enjoying this too much.
The plan was to block their path on the most narrow place on the island. We blocked around a kilometer-wide path. We’re expecting them to arrive here the next day in the morning. Unfortunately for those bandits, there will be no easy way around it. Since the Noreka clan doesn’t have an official slave system, there won’t be anything like surrendering peacefully. There is only death in battle. To get to Valhalla and all that crap.
In the morning we were expecting their army to show but there was only one man with an almost broken wooden shield and a knife. He probably was a scout for them. We captured him to ask a few questions. He was brought in front of the general, surrounded by soldiers with spears pointing at him.
[ General ]
“I guess you’re one of the forced into a battle?” Asked the general but the man remained silent. “What’s your strategy of attack on Verherm?” The man didn’t say anything but it was visible on his face that he is very stressed. “Are you going to speak? Or do you want to die now?”
[ Man ]
He began panicking and looking around. “I can’t te…”
The man stopped talking in the middle of his sentence and froze in place. Blood came out of his eyes and nose. He fell to the ground, landing his face on the ground. One of the soldiers turned him around. The man was clearly dead.
[ Captain ]
“What the fuck did just happen!? He just died in front of us. Someone in their army has powerful spells at his disposal. I’m not sure about the strategy that this blessed guy suggested. This dangerous man might hide between the traitors and cast his spells.”
While there was a commotion in the camp, I left for training with Dian and Stella. We’re definitely not taking her into battle but she might need training for the future since she is blessed by the god of war. Dian was definitely improving. While we were sparring, Stella was figuring out her power of weapon summoning. She learned that all of the spears coming from the ground are different in a way.

[ Eric ]
“Discovered something new about your spell?” I asked Stella as I blocked every Dian’s attack.
[ Stella ]
“I don’t know what else to try with it…”
[ Eric ]
“Have you tried picking up the spear?”
[ Stella ]
“No. I’ll try!”
When she picked up the spear she felt lighter. The weapon wasn’t as heavy as she expected. An idea popped into her mind. Stella threw the spear at a tree a few meters away from her. I saw how fast she threw that spear and that it went through a tree and left a big mark on the ground. When I was surprised by the view, Dian kicked me in the leg to make me fall.
[ Eric ]
“Now you’ve done it…” I said as I began to strangle him.
[ Dian ]
“We were… just sparring…”
[ Eric ]
“Nice throw Stella. This weapon sure is strong. Is it heavy?”
[ Stella ]
“No. It’s very light.” She said as she summoned another spear just waving it around like it was a stick.
[ Eric ]
“Can I try it?” I said as I realized Dian.
[ Stella ]
“Sure. Here.”
Stella gave me the spear. She was holding it with one hand but when I grabbed it I barely could lift it. Was she always that strong? How did she even throw it that? It weighs like seventy kilograms or even more. If not for my “training” I wouldn’t be able to hold that.
[ Eric ]
“How strong even are you… How old are you again?”
[ Stella ]
“I’m six years old.”
Now I don’t know if I’m looking at a kid or a monster. If she is that strong at this age, I can’t imagine how strong she’ll get when she grows up. I was ready to spar more with Dian but then we heard a horn. It was a sign to begin the battle.
[ Eric ]
“They’re moving without us!”
[ Dian ]
“WHAT?!”
[ Eric ]
“Let’s go! Skyge! You stay with Stella. Don’t you dare watch the battle. If things get messy we’ll let you into the field.”
[ Stella ]
“Okey…” Said clearly annoyed Stella.
