43: Planning Aspects

As the students left, many were surprised at parts of, but the most surprising part was how obvious some parts were, which they had not even considered.

Garion told his group, “Something feels off about it. I get the feeling there was more to it than what she was openly saying.”

Harlen frowned. “But what and why didn’t she just say it?”

Drenak patiently told her “She is bound to her rules. Well, that and the fact they like to mess with people’s minds here. She must remain neutral.”

Harlen was still confused “But what did she suggest that does that?”

Jane had been thinking and suddenly seemed to realize something. “There is another rule she has to follow. She can’t mess with the politics of other worlds.”

They all looked at her and Drenak frowned “So? How does this affect worlds outside of her multiverse?”

Jane smiled and got a faraway look on her face. “It makes sense! So much sense!”

Garion was amused, but Drenak was a bit annoyed at not seeing what Jane saw. Harlen was just confused.

Various people were trying to listen in and were very interested.

Drenak asked Jane “What do you see?”

Jane drew herself back to the present. “She needs psychopomps and she really wants people to offer therapy to the souls of the dead. She can’t just recruit the shrinks from here. She wants people like you to recruit them from other worlds outside of her authority. She told us how you can do it: to help them move on. You can’t do that as you normally are, but as a minor aspect, you can draw them in that way, focusing on them. Maybe even some mediums to help settle issues, like delivering messages that need to be delivered.”

Jane thought a bit more. “Palliative care is normally given to the dying. Maybe people who want to help people pass over peacefully from there?”

She got a look in her eyes. “You need to plan these things. Exorcists? Hmm, only with very tight limits.”

Suddenly she paused. “Wait a bit. I think I’m making a mistake.”

Drenak was surprised. “How? It makes sense, what I can understand of it.”

Jane shook her head. “I am not the one who has to think this through. You have to look at what your focus is, and how it can be used to make Aspects that work together. These will be your followers, not mine. I can help, but these choices are ones you must make on your own. All of us need to make these decisions for ourselves. If we don’t we are either going to make massive mistakes, or just be very ineffective!”

Suddenly a voice spoke up, and Gallen was there.”Good. It is nice to see someone is actually thinking about how it should be approached for best results, and not just rushing into things. With that attitude, you might even survive once you get a Domain and followers.”

Everyone was surprised as no-one had paid any real attention to a totally different looking student who had gone to that spot as the group was heading there while talking.

Garion asked him “How the freck did you get there? When did you get there?”

Gallen shrugged. “If you want to be able to spy on people, some people follow them around, or you could go to where you can see where they will be. I was here before you, because I could see you were heading here during your conversation. We are in a tree’s shade, so this was the most likely spot for you to stop.

“Just some simple tricks.”

People suddenly got thoughtful looks on their faces. The Hunters, murderers and others who relied on being predators found it good advice on what they could do, and the others considered it good advice on what to watch out for!

Garion frowned. “Why were you even spying on us for in the first place?”

Gallen smiled. “Why wouldn’t I spy on random students for no reason?”

With that he left, leaving everyone even more disturbed by him. That was kind of why he did it in the first place. Going among the crowds using another identity Gallen almost smiled, but said just loudly enough to be heard “If he can do that, is he also pretending to be a student?”

That would cause quite a few people to become a bit paranoid.

Jane lead the group to a currently unused classroom and told them, “Garion and I need to figure out what Domains we can or even want to get before we can think of Aspects. Harlen, you need to think about what exactly you want, and how you plan to get there using Hearth. Drenak, you need to think about exactly what you want to do.”

There were a few whiteboards with some markers there, and she wrote “Drenak” at the top of one, and “Harlen” at the top of another.

“These are your prime Aspects”

Harlen frowned. “I just want to help people, and have a fun!”

On the Harlen board, Jane write “Joy” and “Help” under her name.

She thought for a bit and said “You need to work out what exactly you will stand for, That will help.”

Drenak slowly said “I want to help people avoid divine politics. I don’t want them to suffer being controlled by others.”

Jane nodded. “Will you use what little sway you will have to help them remain free? Will you give them believe, or not as they desire?”

Drenak nodded. “Yes, I will.”

Jane wrote “Religious freedom” down. “That is what you just described. Will you help them by protecting them with fighting?”

“Yes.”

Jane wrote down “Guard.”

She asked “Will you help guide them to the afterlife?”

“Yes.”

“Guide” was put down

Jane nodded. “Felinia was right about these both being able to come under Escort”

She rubbed guard and Guide out, and wrote down Escort with Guide and Guard under it in a circle.

Soon they had “Closure” “Redemption” “Atonement” and a few other things added. Even “Mediums” because he would be recruiting them to convey the messages.

Those were mostly under another larger Aspect that focused on Spiritual Peace

Jane frowned as she looked at it. “These are just rough ideas. We need to learn more about Dogma and other things. You need to develop yours. We also need to look into exactly what restrictions are on you.”

Garion frowned and said:”You are thinking about something.”

Jane nodded. “He may be able to use the Escort Aspect to develop into getting Astral Travel as a sub-Domain. Guard may even be expanded slightly into Exorcists to protect souls and help them on their way. Hmm, that may even be used with Mediums to reinforce a claim over Undeath and Necromancy. Well, at least dealing with non-corporeal at the least and some physical ones.”

“What are you thinking?”

“Imagine an order of Exorcists/ spiritualists who help souls cross over by helping them find closure, or being skilled enough in necromancy to break spells keeping them bound?”

There was whistling at that.

They turned to Harlen, and she frowned. “I am working on things. I will try to think about things. The idea I can finally get what I have wanted for so long still feels strange to me. I am not rushing into things!”

Garion smiled. “I suggest practical research, like partaking of things in the Domains you are interested in. Or, in other worlds, go out and party while healing people!”

They laughed and headed to their rooms, after clearing the boards.
