Unlike all the other creatures that inhabit the world of Coroleya, the Humans that live in the Red lands were not born on this world. They arrived much later through circumstances they do not remember. It is due to these strange circumstances that Humans contrary to their Human ancestors on Earth evolved differently. Living in the harsh environment of the desert where they were constantly preyed upon by thousands of unknown creatures forced their bodies to change and adapt.
The Humans living on Coroleya were given increased upper body strength, their shoulders widening and their hands becoming much larger. There was also dramatic surge of humans being born with thicker skulls to protect themselves from the elements. This in turn resulted in their brains being squeezed till eventually brains became slightly smaller in comparison to Humans on Earth.
Living out in the middle of the desert wasteland where there was little shade from the four suns that hung in the sky for most of the day, gradually made their skin leathery and hard. Which would later serve them well, when facing predators. Another addition to their body was their ability to store a portion of the water they consumed in their swollen kidneys. This allowed Humans to go without water for great lengths of time.

For the past several centuries or more the Humans that arrived on Coroleya were in a constant battle for survival against the Desert Ghouls. Devilish and clever creatures roamed the Red lands in the dead of night attacking any villages or Towns in their path. Causing chaos and death wherever they went. And because of their ability to take on the appearance of the dead, all humans had to burn a mark onto their skin, so they would not be mistaken for Ghouls. Even then there always a chance for mistakes to be made. It is because of this that the Humans founded two groups: One was called the Red Hands, that were trained to hunt down and deal with Ghoul infiltrators. The second group was called the Black Hands their jobs were patrol the outlying Desert and wipe out any Ghoul nests.
The Battles against the Desert Ghouls never truly ended, even with rapid expansion of their territories in the Desert and a massive boost to the human population. The threat of Ghoul attacks still exists. To be Continued.
