Osiris and Clara were still searching for the exit. Clara was using her skill to navigate through the maze. While going through the maze, they heard a sound. It was one of metal clashing with metal. The sound seemed to emerge from their right. They peeked through the wall to check the cause of the sound, and found two people fighting. Merlin Torrix and Viver Valico. Their siblings, Sanroc Valico and Olken Torrix were not present in the area. Maybe they were out searching for a way out and to occupy the throne for their families. Sanea Valico wasn’t inside the Elva temple because her attribute was healing. She was outside healing the wounded people.
Osiris let out a deep sigh and ignored the two fighting because no matter how much he tried to convince them to quit fighting, they wouldn’t listen. Heck, he’d been trying for the past decade to establish a cease-fire on the continent, but nothing worked. The high nobles were determined to fight and give up their lives. All for just losing their minds when they’d finally occupy the throne and again will fight to repeat the cycle.
Instead, Osiris knew the only way to end this was to destroy the throne like Andreas had suggested.
They continued walking through the narrow, dimly-lit corridors of the maze when suddenly, the density of light increased. The room began to slowly brighten up as they walked further and closer. There was a bright flash of light and then pure magnificence was revealed.
Amidst the flashy room which was reflecting a shade of gold enough to blind the eyes, situated a throne that was symbolic of valor, mettle, heroism, gallantry and eternal beauty.
This throne which has been unused for literal centuries was the root cause of the current problem. Destroying it would be easy because for all its external appearance, the throne was a pretty fragile piece of work, but getting in a position to destroy it would prove to be difficult.
“Ah, look who it is.”
As expected of the top three demon noble families. There they were.
“Eldan Wycan.” Osiris noticed a person standing in the presence of the throne.
The person Osiris called out ignored him and walked through long stairs leading up to the throne’s platform.
The place hadn’t been visited by anyone in centuries, yet it was so clean that the floors would reflect your face if you were to look at it. The long curtains were devoid of dust and smelled rich as an elaborate shade of freshness enveloped it.
“Hey! I was the one who called out to you first!” An unknown person was yelling at Osiris like they’d been long time friends. “You’re ignoring the person who acknowledges your presence, but fawning over an ignorant runt?”
“Lamser, don’t act friendly when you have hurt my family.”
“Oh you mean your siblings? Those imps acted all cocky when they couldn’t withstand even a type five magic device.” Lamser Kamira, unaware of Osiris’s patience reaching its limits, added more oil to the already burning flames. “All I did was use a fourth of my magic power. They got defeated like maggots within seconds. I agree that it was underhanded to use a magic device when least expected…..”
Lamser rambled on, but Osiris finally reached his limits and snapped.
The ground slowly started rumbling and shaking. The air was noticeably getting hotter and denser making it hard to breathe. The ignorant Lamser started coughing and gasping for air.
“You….!” Lamser belatedly understood the situation but it was already too late.
Once provoked, an animal enters flight or fight mode. Humans are no exception. But for a demon, once provoked to their limits, the resonance of their spirit with their body increases and their magic power reaches transcendence. It was due to this stygian power, the humans fear to make the demons as their enemies even with their advanced technologies.
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
A provoked demon emits a predator power. That power makes the prey lose nerve and the will to live. It is the power that signifies the absoluteness of the demon. It is called Predator Instinct by the humans who were unfortunate enough to experience it in person.
Of course, not every demon has this much power behind the Predator Instinct. The strength of this innate aura varies by birth. That’s why the nobles of the demon continent are much more powerful than commoners. That is also the reason why the Patriarch of the most powerful demon high noble family, Osiris Latix, is much stronger than anyone else in the Demon continent.
There was a dark magic power rising from the ground. With every passing second, the sound of the rumbling gradually grew to the point of being ear-deafening for a normal human.
The ground slowly turned a cosmic black. This was the Latix family’s traditional demon art. The demon art not only has the ability to teleport people to other worlds, it also has combat worthy powers.
Lamser was taken aback and shouted. “Osiris! Osiris! Come on, we were friends weren’t we? We would never hurt each other right?”
This would normally, indeed work against Osiris who has a strong sense of justice. That is, if he was ‘normal’. The Osiris standing in front of him right now was not normal. He was like a wounded animal. And an animal is most ferocious and ruthless when it is wounded.
The battle ended really quickly because it wasn’t a battle at all. It was more of a one sided assault.
Lamser tried to use all the skills at his disposal, but nothing worked against the Latix traditional demon art. Finally, Lamser tried using his own family’s traditional demon art, the Kamira traditional demon art. That also didn’t prove to be useful because of the demon noble hierarchy. The Latix were ranked first, the Wycans second, the Torrix third, the Dakus fourth, the Kamiras fifth, the Valicos sixth and the Lauers seventh.
At the end, Lamser’s dead body laid on the floor. It was unrecognizable due to the traditional art changing his body composition at the cellular level.
Osiris was staring blankly at Lamser Kamira’s corpse and muttered to himself. “Now my brother and sister should be awake from their long coma.”
Eldan was watching their battle from the top of the stairs leading to the throne. “Not bad. That guy was annoying.”
“Eldan. Listen to me. Sitting on the throne won’t bring back your dead father.”
“It won’t but I can atleast get revenge for him.”
“Your father was a wicked man, and that’s why the humans killed him. It was self defense on their part.”
“No it was not! They killed my father. Why? For liberating the demon children who were being used as experimental objects? That is not being wicked!” Eldan added on. “I’m going to claim the throne and bring the entire Demon continent under my command. Then I’ll declare war and wipe out the humans from the face of this planet.”
Eldan resumed walking up the stairs and Osiris once again used his traditional art. At this point, Osiris’s magic power was completely drained and he had used his last drop of mana to teleport Eldan far from the throne. But he couldn’t teleport him outside the throne room. That required a considerable amount of mana.
Eldan got teleported near the entrance of the throne room. Now Osiris and Clara were standing in between the throne and Eldan.
Osiris was about to lose consciousness from the excessive drain of mana when suddenly…
“Osiris!” a boy in his teens called out to him. It was Andreas.

Andreas
We rushed straight into the maze. It took us about half a day. It was fast considering it would normally take about two days just to cross this area.
While navigating our way through the maze, we saw light leaking through an entrance to a chamber.
Immediately after entering the room, we noticed that it was the throne room. We looked around to check our surroundings. That was when Asher noticed Osiris. “Hey..Isn’t that Sir Osiris?”
I called out to Osiris who was about to faint. “Osiris!”

Osiris
The timing was perfect. They both had come at the right time. Now I can leave the rest up to them. They’d be able to destroy the throne and save the Demon continent from tyranny if the prophecy was true.
There was also one more reason why I had recruited humans. It was not that I lacked firepower. Heck, humans were weak. A punch to the liver was enough to make them unconscious.
The real reason was that the throne couldn’t be destroyed by demons.
The throne was emitting an aura that would numb any demon’s mind. It was just like dopamine. The more dopamine you get, the more you’d want it. And the more you’d think it’s natural. That’s why dopamine detox was a beneficial thing. I could feel the throne’s immense aura even from standing ten meters away. The closer a demon gets to the throne, the more they’d want it. That’s why Eldan’s mind was a mess when he stood on the stairs, three meters away from the throne.
As per the prophecy, the three humans who’d change the fate of the Demon continent have arrived. They’d destroy the throne and end the decade-long conflict. But their opponent was Eldan Wycan, the second most powerful demon in the Demon continent. Will they be able to defeat him?
