The true history of the human race has remained (and will continue to remain) one of the most mystifying and heavily debated topics within our society. How did it come to be, that our species would be scattered across the thousands of worlds of a thousand stars — so loosely connected that were one too many strands of the thin web that we call interstellar travel be broken, that such a rift in the human civilisation may never be closed.

It is within this reconstructed history, The Gifts of Luna, that I wish to shed some light upon our mysterious past. The transmissions, logs, and other documents that you will see presented here have been carefully extracted from the depths of the Sol system and expertly compiled in order to produce a set of complete narratives that date back to the so-called “Pre-Lunar Era” of human history. This period, selected as it is the oldest identifiable point on the historical timeline that we have such sufficient evidence for.

Of course, we are aware of period before this. The cautiously named “Stranded Era” has provided such evidence as to its existence, but as of yet not nearly enough to produce a similar compilation of historical narratives.

Should archaeological methods improve significantly enough, and we are able to breach the deepest layers of historical abstraction and peer into our distant past in far greater detail than is currently possible - then perhaps I shall venture into producing the supposed prequel to my current work. Until then however, I present to you what is thus-far the most comprehensive look into the lives of our ancestors, and the stories they have to tell.
