After battling for no more than two hours, Zayn had more than enough Soul Essences to initiate the Class Path integration. However, he didn’t rush to integrate the Soul Lord Class Path. Initiating the Class Path integration required time and full focus. That was a little bit hard to come by, with dozens of Magma Goblins emerging from all directions at all times.
Nonetheless, he increased the progression bar of the Class Path to 999/1000 before resuming to fight.
Zayn accumulated more Soul Essences to upgrade his Foundation later while searching for Erik and others. He messaged them a few times since he’d entered the underground cavern system and was fortunate enough to find them at last.
Tom, Elveriun, Erik, and the other members of Golden Age were busy fighting a small horde of Magma Goblins. They were at a major numerical disadvantage but fared pretty well against their enemies. Tom cast several Spell Cards to injure the Magma Goblins and slow them down while simultaneously supporting his allies with Support Cards.
Elveriun wielded a bow as long as the Magma Goblins were far away before switching to a dagger set. He wielded both bow and dagger set with great precision. It was hard to imagine Elveriun as a rookie. The rookie Player had improved a lot. Everyone had.
He moved smoothly through the rows of enemies and inflicted minor cuts before moving onward. Elveriun didn’t kill his enemies, but his daggers were coated with poison. They didn’t have a poison enchantment, but Elveriun purchased several vials with poison to coat the daggers. The poison wasn’t strong, but it was enough to slow the Magma Goblins temporarily.
More Golden Age members focused on supporting the others. They had two Healers who were also capable Supporters with decent Common Cards, but some Players tried to replicate a Magic Swordsman’s combat style. They had Elemental Spell Cards and utilized them to their best capabilities while also jumping into melee combat.
If not for the Healer’s focus on those unique melee fighters, they would have died multiple times in the short time Zayn had been watching them. Nonetheless, they were better than expected.
‘They’re better than expected,’ Zayn acknowledged in his mind as the Magma Goblins fell victim to the deadly assault.
His neutral expression was replaced as his lips curled into a faint smile. Zayn recognized the movement sequences some Golden Age members used. They were his movements, the sequences he’d demonstrated in various videos and explained in detail in some Guides.
‘They studied everything!’
Zayn continued observing the Golden Age members until the battle was over. He was satisfied with their improvements. It hadn’t been very long since he took them under his wings, but they used all materials to study and fix their flaws. Of course, they were far from perfect. Nobody was perfect. However, Zayn could tell that the Golden Age members were on a good way. Zayn’s plans would be much easier to complete if they continued improving like this. That would be great.
“Guildmaster!” Elveriun exclaimed when he noticed Zayn.
The battle had just ended, and everyone was busy collecting the loot and distributing their Soul Essences, but they spun around instantly upon hearing Elveriun.
They smiled seeing Zayn, who waved lightly in their direction.
“You guys did well,” He praised the Golden Age members, “I don’t think we need another spar. Everyone improved by a lot.”
Everyone smiled, including Erik, who’d pushed others to train, fight, and study more. He was still unsure what drove him to focus on growing stronger obsessively, but he knew it was necessary and that Zayn was their golden ticket for whatever awaited them.
“It hasn’t been long since we parted ways, but you went on and beyond to get the first World Achievement. How did you find the Beginner City Guildmaster?” Erik asked, looking up to meet Zayn’s gaze.
Zayn was stunned that Erik called him Guildmaster, but he didn’t have anything against getting called like that. It sounded pretty nice.
“I guess I was lucky,” He smirked while retrieving the Return Tokens, “My luck was also helpful in getting hold of a piece of land in Spyro. We have a Guildhouse in Spyro in a few days. It was a bit pricey, but it’s good that we have a rich supporter who also gives out loans.”
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
Nobody could hide their surprise when they heard that Zayn had already procured a piece of land in the city and that they would have a Guildhouse soon. Erik and the others knew very well how expensive land and buildings were in towns. They couldn’t fathom how expensive the land in Spyro must be. Hearing that Zayn was forced to take out a loan didn’t make them feel any better.
“You took out a loan?” Erik asked quietly, pressing his lips together. It didn’t feel great to hear that such a young man took out a loan for a game. Yet, oddly enough, it made sense. In Erik’s subconscious mind, taking out a loan to invest heavily in Forgotten Lands sounded feasible and like the most logical thing one could do. But that didn’t make any sense.
“Yeah. I can pay it back quickly, though. Once Golden Age starts expanding, I will have no issue earning millions. The initial investment is a little bit scary, but there are no rewards without risk. The bigger the risk, the greater the rewards,” Zayn smirked.
“How about you take the weapons, Card Shards, and the other stuff we found here?” Tom proposed, feeling even less comfortable than Erik.
Zayn waved his hand and said, “There is no need. I will be better off if you use your loot to improve your equipment and upgrade your Heart Deck. Once your Heart Deck is filled with good Cards, you can sell the rest via the Guild Shops. The Guild Shop’s taxing isn’t as scummy as the Forsaken Auctionhouse.”
Everyone held a Return Toekn in their hands after some back and forth. Zayn explained some of Spyro’s rules to the Golden Age members before they crushed the Return Token. The space around them rippled, and the world turned dark.
One second, they stood in the center of a small underground cavern system, and in the next second, they were in the middle of Spyro. Zayn wasn’t impressed, but the others exclaimed loudly. It was their first time to be in one of Forgotten Lands’ cities. Spyro was more unique than other cities as well. They were awestruck at the sight of the massive spires and the rest of the underground city concealed within the sentient volcano.
At first, the Golden Age members didn’t realize that the land they were standing on belonged to their guild. The massive piece of land around them might not look special because the construction of the Guildhouse and other structures had merely begun, but the land was too large for anyone to think it belonged to Golden Age.
They were shocked to the core upon hearing that everything belonged Golden Age.
“Either way, the Guildhouse will finish in a few days. Until then you’ll have to logout to sleep or go into an inn to sleep there,” Zayn explained once the others calmed down a little, “You guys should have collected more than enough stuff in the underground cavern system to stay in Spyro for a few days. If you want to leave, leave the city’s proximity and think about going outside. The volcano will open a path for you to leave. As for returning, use the Return Tokens for the time being. Everyone should have three Return Tokens. Use them to return after hunting outside. Once you’ve integrated a Class Path, I will teach you how to normally enter the volcano.”
Zayn wasn’t going to play the guild member’s nanny. They had to take care of themselves. Nonetheless, he hoped they would go out hunting because they were still not strong enough to deal with the future if they didn’t continue striving for power. He hoped they would get even greedier and their desire for power wouldn’t cease anytime soon.
Hunting was also something Zayn would have to do soon enough. However, before that, Zayn had to integrated the Soul Lord Class Path. It felt like months had passed since he told himself to integrate the Class Path. Fortunately, it hadn’t been that long. He finished everything that had to be completed and could finally focus on his Class Path.
Zayn sold a few Magma Goblin ears and their weapons at the Guild Association before renting a small room for a week. The Guild Association had small places where their Adventurers and other affiliated could stay for a fair price. Zayn didn’t care too much about the money. He was just too eager to accept the Soul Lord Class to bother searching for an inn.
Zayn received a key and rushed to his room. He didn’t even bother glancing at the furniture. Instead, he removed his shoes and bloody clothes before throwing himself onto the bed. He sat down cross-legged and integrated one more Soul Essence into his Class Path.
