Surfacing from the clearing, nearing the end of the foot hills, the first place was owned by the elf who was putting into a faster gear and coming up to a cliff face. In second place the rider was also speeding up and beginning to put on an outfit to climb up the mountain. The usual gear for climbing found on Gwendilock was not a standard cut. First, hand spikes came spinning around to dig into the stone. Second foot gripes worked like magnets on the rock to keep steady. Both riders were engaged in cliff climbing when Xin entered the scene. He took a deep breath. I hoped against hope, this would work. He grumbled wondering when he could smoke his pipe later. From the back of the speeder, he pulled out a long rectangular box big enough to stand on. He pressed a button and put it floating on the ground. He felt his feet engage while he prayed to Hornby the God of Stone, then hit the button on the joy stick. Zoom he took off strait up in the air. Right by one racer then the next. They stopped there climb staring in wonder. Even the ET stopped chewing for a moment wondering how this was possible. Up Xin rose past trees rocks, even snow at the end of the race was in sight and cameras and spectators were waiting to catch a glimpse of a climber when they saw Xin floating on a self-contained device, they froze not believing their eyes. Xin crossed the finish line and the announcer yelled the winner. But everyone just stared and asked how this was possible. Xin knew at that moment nothing would be the same. Just then loud noise came from an emergency vehicle. A near by child had been kidnapped and they had a description of the suspect...who disappeared into thin air.
