CHAPTER 8 - DUNGEON ESCAPE

The trio entered the boss room to see a lone figure just standing about. The man noticed their presence right away, although he blatantly ignored them.

Bradley was concerned something was off as the man just stood there like he wasn’t interested in fighting them. Kimiko and Jess were standing next to Bradley wondering the same thing.

After a few tense seconds of just standing around the man finally spoke. The trio expected some sort of long villainous monologue. What they got instead was anything but.

“Just go ahead and defeat me. I’m honestly tired of having to deal with this crap.”

The man turned his back to them. The trio looked at each other in confusion before Bradley decided to speak up.

“What do you mean just go ahead and kill you? What are you going on about?”

The man turned to face them to speak, but before he could, his personality took a different turn. He fell to the ground screaming in pain and agony. Muttering unintelligible words. This was all followed by a system error message in front of the others.

Dungeon interface has lost control of subject #13131313. System is attempting to reboot…

The man quickly recovered from his pain, getting up. He then charged right for Bradley with daggers in hand. He charged Bradley as if suddenly being possessed, but before he could land any blows. Jess intercepted the man to keep Bradley safe. “Seriously, we need to get you gear to help protect you after this.” She kept driving him back with her shield. He yelled back as Kimiko tried to get him, but the man just dodged everything she sent his way.

“I don’t want to continue this…, if I have to die, I'm taking you with me.” He yelled as he charged Bradley again.

The fighting continued the same. The man wouldn’t let up until he eventually got around Jess. It was thanks to a poor shot on Kimiko’s part as she tried to attack, but ended up missing and hitting Jess. Jess stumbled from the hit leaving Bradley wide open. The man delivered a fatal blow to Bradley as he stabbed him right through the heart.

Bradley let out a painful scream as he bled out. The man stood holding the dagger with an evil smile as he prepared to send the other dagger into Bradley’s head. Only to be blasted back by a fatal dose of electricity. The man spasmed on the ground.

Bradley fell to his knees swaying, he would have face planted on the ground if not for Jess. She laid him on his back gently, while Kimiko tried desperately in vain to heal his stabbed heart. “Don’t you die on us,” they both tried to hold back there fear.

Bradley could only close his eyes as the wound he had taken turned fatal.

The dungeon gave Kimiko and Jess a message before they were all kicked out.

Dungeon run failed, sending back to dungeon terminal with all party members…

The three of them ended back at the dungeon terminal. Kimiko and Jess looked over at Bradley who was completely fine with shock. Unfortunately, they had brought along an uninvited guest…

“Finally i am free,” A voice said, The trio looked over to see the dungeon boss had been teleported back with them. They stood there in shock wondering how he had teleported with them. They didn’t have time to ponder as the man immediately attacked them. The rogue dungeon boss casted a massive fireball that incinerated half the mansion. Within seconds Bradley;s mansion caught fire that was followed by a deafening explosion.

“Watch Out,” Jess yelled as jumped in front of Bradley to shield him from the attack. She put up a protective barrier for the party, Now that they were out of the dungeon. The two could use their full abilities.

The attack blasted them all off their feat as rubble and debris rained down all around them. A few moments passed as everything settled that was only met with silence.

The man looked at what he had caused before running away from the destroyed mansion. While he made his escape he remembered who he was and why he was there. He now had a new goal in mind. He would find the one responsible and make them pay, but first he needed more help than just himself to take the being down. He needed to find others just like him to accomplish his goal.

Meanwhile back in the ruins of the destroyed mansion, a pile of debris began to move as Jess popped out. She was quick to pull Bradley up, who was followed by Kimiko.

The three could only look around in horror at all the damage the man had caused. The mansion had been blown in half. All Bradley could do was stare, asking. “What the hell just happened?”
