CHAPTER 5 - A NEW HOME/ SECOND COMPANION
Bradley and Jess found themselves at Bradley's new place. His new residence was huge and expansive. The duo toured around the place to see it was run by an AI.
The property was broken up into many sections. It included a mansion for Bradley along with room for any figurines he summoned. It is also a garage for storing cars. The property had a racetrack as well that he could modify to his heart's content.
Bradley was very keen on looking in the garage now that he was getting settled. He went into the building with Jess to see his original Banzai Banger derby car was there.
Seeing the car made him stop and shiver.
“Is everything alright?” Jess asked with a concerned tone
“It is nothing, just bad memories,” Bradley replied
Jess raised her brow before speaking.
“Guessing that contraption was the reason you were reincarnated?”
Bradley was slow to respond as all his emotions caught up.
“Yes, I was a racecar driver in a series where anyone could die in a race at any time.”
“Sounded brutal. It could have been my thing to be honest?” Jess replied, trying to assure him.
“Speaking of getting killed. The way you fought back in the tests were pathetic. I know it isn't your fault your stats got screwed up, but might I make a suggestion on your next figurine choice?”
Bradley slumped thinking about how he couldn't do much damage or fight if he tried. It was his fault for causing the transition to go awry anyways.
He just nodded and listened to Jess. If anyone was going to help right now it was her.
“I suggest you get a good healer with combat capabilities or try to find a party to work with. Not sure if the latter is the best option though. People would be tempted to kill you for your collection with that stupid debuff.” She sighed thinking of more of what they could do.
Bradley left the garage with Jess to head the mansion. He wasn't sure what to excpet entering his new residence. The two arrived and walked in through the front door. Lights turned on as they were greeted by an AI.

“Hello I am the housemaker 9000. The best thing in living technology. I see users Jess and Bradley have entered the property. Would you like a tour and to know more about your new life here?”
Bradley said no to the tour. He did want more information though. Jess just listened to figure out what he had commuted with his life too.
The first thing he asked was about how much money he had, if any. If he didnt, how was he supposed to make money?
“You already have funds in your name Bradley. As for making more funds you can get more by your racing job and doing dungeon runs.”
Bradley's next question was how he could obtain essence for figurines. He knew he couldn't summon any.
“You can obtain essence by buying it, running for it, or trading. If you plan to buy essense you have a cap amount per month you can buy. You can trade items on the market for them or hunt monsters for essence.”
Hearing he could buy essence to unlock a new figurine. Bradley asked the AI how much it would cost and how much money he had.
The essence wasn't cheap to buy. It cost one thousand credits to buy one point of essence. Luckily for Bradley he was able to buy the maximum amount for the month. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to unlock his next figurine. Not by a long shot. One of his penalties made it take four times as long to unlock.
After getting his main questions answered. Bradley made his way with Jess to a room that summoned figurines. The place looked just like the place Jess was summoned from. They both discussed his next figurine to unlock. They had to go through his entire collection and start narrowing down the search.
He wanted to pick a diamond ranked healer, but they essence cost would take months to fill just to get. He was in a bind so he had to select lower tiers of figurines.
He spent several hours going through different selections. Most of the commons were axed which were bronze. The silver had a few good options he kept as a maybe. Gold tier had a better selection with many he saved to come back and check. Platinum he realized was too expensive with the amount of essence he had available. It would take him less time but he didn't have the luxury for that tier list either.
He was stuck looking at a few bronze, a good chunk of silver, and a handful of gold.
It took another good hour before Bradley made his pick. He selected a figurine that was a gold tier.
The chosen figurine was a special limited edition pre-order when he had gotten it for his collection. The figurine was a multipurpose elemental fighter/healer. It was a red kitsune fox woman with nine tails. Each of her tails enhanced her elemental magic of blood, fire, ice, wind, earth, lightning, water, dark, and light magics.
She wore a simple brown tank top with matching baggy shorts, with two sword swords sheathed on by her hips. The swords were magically enchanted to wield different elementals for fighting. Strapped to her back was a bow that shot arrows made of mana. The arrows could be enhanced to shoot different elements. In her right hand was a crimson colored staff with a red orb on the tip. The staff could be used to cast basic elemental bolts. The staff’s real trump card was its use for enhancing blood magic.
This is what made Bradley decide to pick her. Since he was going to be a major target for others. He needed to keep some way to stay alive for a while until he could build up an army of figurines, or get a better healer.
He was worried of easily getting wounded or hurt in a fight. This figurine could fix most of his problems. It could use her own blood, his, or any enemies to heal him.
There were more perks that could be unlocked with upgrades. Bradley had already maxed her out with her full upgrades in the game. He was curious if he summoned her now. That she would have all her abilities.
There was one he was in desperation of needing. She had a skill that could be usef once per day. An instant revival skill reaching the first level up.
Bradley discussed his pick with Jess after showing her the details. She was impressed and told him to go for it. Bradley used a good chunk of his essence to summon the new figurine.
Bradley used the room to summon his new figurine. It popped out of his inventory as it came to life. They both looked in awe at the fox woman who just appeared off of a pad. She blinked her eyes before Bradley spoke.
“Hello Azura.” Bradley greeted his new figurine companion.
“Who is Azura? My name is Kimiko.” Bradley’s new companion replied.
“Right?” Bradley said, scratching his head figuring out what he should do next. Not before his stomach growled.
“I need to eat. Do you two want anything?” He asked both of his figurine companions.
“We don't need to eat, drink, or sleep. From what I was told.”
Bradley wanted to know how Jess knew but he knew most likely she couldn't tell him. He just sighed as he headed for the kitchen to eat and think of his next move.
