CHAPTER 7 - FIRST DUNGEON RUN
The dungeon Bradley ended up with was chosen with his class. He was tasked with tracking an assassin. The dungeon started off pretty tame. The groups levels were all at one entering. Bradley was having an easy time finding traps and tracking the movements of the assassin in the dungeon.
Things got more difficult as they progressed. There were many times the trio had to stop for Bradley to pick a direction as more and more paths appeared. Things got more tricky when he came up to a fork in the dungeon. His tracker class was telling him that the assassin went both ways.
By this time they had all leveled up to around three. Bradley didn't have any changes in his stats from gaining levels. Jess and Kimiko were a different matter.
“Well I'm not sure which way to go at this point. My tracking ability is telling me he went down both tunnels,” Bradley said to both Jess and Kimiko with worry tone.
“Relax, we have your back in this,” Jess replied, trying to reassure him.
Bradley sighed as he decided to let fate play it out. “Heads we got left. Tails we go right,” he muttered to himself.
Bradley pulled out a small coin that had dropped from a rat spawn that was killed by Kimiko. He flipped in the air as he watched it spin. It landed on the ground bouncing a few before landing on tails.
“Right passageway it is,” he said, picking up the coin.
Jess took the lead with him behind just by a few feet. They weren't sure what to expect. Especially with Bradley's stats. They didn't want him to be killed even in a tutorial dungeon.
The group entered a room with Bradley telling them he was still tracking the assassin. Things turned quickly as Kimiko stepped over the threshold. The room sealed up as Bradley’s warning senses went off the charts.
“This is bad, something isn't right here,” he said.
“You think?” Kimiko snapped back drawing her weapons.
“Just zip it, we don't need to stress him out more,” Jess replied.

As they all took up defensive stances. A white circle appeared in the center of the room. The trio had to scamper back out of it. The circle glowed until the whole room was lit blinding the group. When the light faded. In the center were a pack of five white dire wolves and one that was three times larger than the others.
The group could see the levels on each one of them. The five small mobs were level 3 while the biggest was level 5.
“Bradley I need you to conceal yourself while we fight them,” Jess said as she immediately went into tanking mode.
Bradley did what she asked him too. He had to get out of the way.
Jess grabbed her sword and tossed it like a boomerang. It spun wildly as it hit each wolf as it came back to her. Although her sword hit the wolves, it did no damage whatsoever. It did leave a buffed ability for her though.
Throwing her sword triggered “bloodlust” on the wolves. They all jumped at her at once. She had to bash them with her shield over and over.
Meanwhile, Kimiko was hitting the wolves with her elemental arrows. The wolves were slowly being taken down.
Bradley could only watch with regret he couldn't help.
Why can't I be of more use here. Perhaps I can try and get in a few hits while being stealthy.
By this point his two figurines were fighting two wolves. One of the remaining ones was the big one. The other was slowly bleeding out from the fight.
Bradley looked at it hp bar as it kept draining. It was now down to five percent when he made his move.
The wolf was surprised by his attack. Bradley had taken away only three percent with an equipped dagger he had gotten.
The wolf leapt at Bradley biting him on both legs before it died.
Bradley screamed out in pain falling to his knees. Everyone all looked at Bradley as his concealment failed. The wolf noticed him and immediately reacted to his debuff.
“Oh, no you don't, blood wall!” Kimiko yelled, casting a protective barrier with the wolf's blood to block it from getting to Bradley.
The wolf rammed at the barrier continually before it finally broke. The wolf then charged for Bradley.
Luckliy, the distraction was long enough for Jess to get in front of him. Although, it ended up being pointless as part of the room caved in on top of the wolf. A dagger like peace of stone the size of Jess crushed the beast.
“Ugh, that skill will get annoying real fast,” Jess complained.
Meanwhile Kimiko was using her blood magic to heal Bradley. Since she used most of the magic on the blood wall. She wasn't able to fully heal him. It was enough to close the wound. She had to bandage the rest of whatever was exposed.
“Well I was able to heal the major damage. Looks like the rest will need to heal on its own, or unless I get more blood I can use it to heal it up,” Kimiko grunted.
Jess joined them as she sat next to Bradley who was wrapped up in a ball.
“Please do not do that again. Your life is far too at risk at this point. Hopefully we can give you better equipment and gear to fix your stats at least.”
Bradley could only let out tears thinking of how useless he was. The trio stayed put for a while until Bradley was able to collect himself.
The group didn't encounter anything more difficult heading up to the boss room. Jess had to carry Bradley for a while until Kimiko was able to use more of her blood magic to heal him fully. They finally arrived at the boss room after tracking the assassin.
Bradley was again between Jess and Kimiko for protection. They all approached the door to the boss room.
“I hope this isn't as dangerous as the last fight,” Bradley grumbled.
“Just let us do the fighting, okay?” Jess asked nicely.
“Well here goes nothing,” Bradley sighed approaching the boss room.
