CHAPTER 3 - ARRIVING IN THE WRONG WAY
Bradley could only scream as he free fell towards the world below. One minute he was on the teleporter and the next he found himself miles above a planet. It was dotted with lights all over the place as he fell from the sky. From his vantage point he could tell it was night.
To make matters worse. The figurine that was Selene, who called herself Jess, was nowhere to be seen.
Bradley could only think to himself of flattening on impact as the ground got closer and closer. He had tried to think of ways to slow his body down. He spread out his legs and arms. Knowing he would most likely die opun impact. He closed his eyes and listened to the passing air as he fell.
A few seconds later he opened his eyes after bumping into something midair. Jess had propped herself beneath him with less than half a mile before they hit the ground.
Bradley could make out more details of a neon lit city as they approached.
“Are you always this helpless?” She said to him in a sarcastic tone as tried to slow their descent with her wings.
Unfortunately, Bradley was traveling too fast for her to slow all the way down.
“Brace yourself.” She yelled as they approached the ground at a fast speed. Bradley closed his eyes as they impacted.
They both slammed into the middle of a street creating a big crater in their wake. The depressiln was 30 feet around and 10 feet deep at a sloped angle. Jess took all the damage from the fall, with Bradley on top of her. He quickly rolled off and helped her up.

“Thanks for saving me.” He said with his head down feeling guilty. Somehow he had a feeling that stepping off the teleporter had caused him to be put into the air.
“Well it is my job to assist and protect you.” Jess said with a grumbled voice dusting herself off.
“At least I have an indestructible body.” She sighed.
A crowd had formed where they landed. People were filming the scene as sirens could be heard coming their way.
Bradley got a look at their surroundings more now that they were standing. He realized more damage had been caused than just the crater. From what he could tell, a car had swerved out of the way and crashed into a store front. The driver side door was open with the driver facedown on the ground. A piece of ceiling tile was lying on the man's back. The man carried a plasma gun of some kind. That was discarded a few feet from his right hand.
Bradley no doubt was thinking that the driver was mad and tried to shoot him. Only to be knocked out by a falling ceiling tile from Selene’s ability.
The tension in the air was getting tense as the sirens got closer.
“We need to leave now!” Jess yelled sincing intimate danger. Before Bradley could respond she grabbed him and flew off into the night sky.
—----------
Jess was carrying Bradley at a fast speed. He was concerned why she had fled. Before he thought of the figurine’s ability again.
“I'm just trying to keep you out of trouble for the time being. I'm taking us to where we were supposed to end up.” She spoke in a grumpy tone.
“How do you know where we are suppose to go?” Bradley asked out of curiosity.
She tried to speak, but all that came out of her mouth was gibberish that was followed by “system error.”
Bradley was even more confused now. Jess shook her head as if trying to recall something. Before speaking again.
“This world has a system. Most of the inhabitants are reincarnated souls. It would have explained where we were supposed to end up and was going to explain more about this whole ordeal.”
“So it just isn't me here then? Bradley asked Jess.
“Yes, depending on your reincarnation attributes. You would have certain skills and stats. For example some people can use magic while others can't.”
They flew in silence after that as they passed a few more cities before coming to a single mountainous outcrop. The mountain was twice as tall as Mount Everest and four times as wide. The top was hidden in tge cloud cover. Bradley marveled it beauty as they got closer.
Jess flew towards the cloud cover. Bradley expected to the temperature to plummet as they got higher and higher into the clouds. The opposite happened as it got warmer. The top of the mountain revealed a hidden jungle on top. It was warm and humid as Jess flew.
She eventually landed on a nearby platform and put Bradley down. There were a few people standing around when they landed. One of them approached to speak. He made a quick overreaction of the two.
“Well I must say this is indeed the most bizarre reincarnation situation I've ever seen.”
