(Ichika)
It was a few years since that...incident. I have since completely lost all sight in my left eye. I am not allowed to go out to the village without an escort nor do I try to go without one. It would be much too dangerous.
'I still don't understand why they treated me like that...'
My parents have said it was because we were different, but how? When I asked them, they said it was because we acted differently and seemed suspicious since we lived outside of the village. Still didn't understand but, I went with whatever they told me.
My brother was outraged he almost went into the village center and cause a fight. My father stopped him and he was reprimanded shortly after his outburst. It is one of my family's rules to keep your dignity and to be passive. I don't know why though, it seems to be more of a noble family type of rule but, it is what it is.
I got used to losing half my sight...after all those times I woke up crying forgetting that I had lost my sight. It isn't too bad, after all I can still see with the one eye. But, I usually just keep both my eyes closed. Otherwise, they'd find another reason to talk about me.
I did ask my mother about wearing an eye-patch so it'd be easier but...she went on a tangent and gave me a lecture about dignity and poise.

"No. Young Lady, how could you ask me if you could wear an EYE-PATCH, of all things. Dressing up as a pirate, bandit, thief, con-man, assassin, or anything other related to pirates is not something I want my daughter to do.
"But, Mother I-"
"No, buts, ifs or anything. I won't have it. And it looks disgraceful, no taste whatsoever. I taught you how to dress appropriately and behave in a civilized manner. I understand that it's challenging, but I can't jeopardize anything else for you to lose.
"Mother...well, I-If you're worried about the looks than we could change the look. It doesn't have to be the regular black eye-patches that pirates wear. Knowing you, it could work out if we design it to look more elegant? Please, Mother at least think about it?"
"....That's not a bad idea. Fine, I'll give you my word and I'll think about it. I will tell you once I think about it again and make a decision."

That conversation was about a year ago. She hasn't told me anything since, but my Mother isn't a liar. Well, at least not about promises and most things that is. Once she makes her decision she'll tell me. After all, she never said when.
When I asked father, he agreed with mother and told me to wait for her choice. My brother was rather amused by the idea and teased me about it. Neither of them were of any help. I do love my family and appreciate everything they have done for me but,...sometimes it is rather frustrating. I am the youngest though, so I have to deal with whatever they decide.
