For the most part, it is quiet as I inspect it with Miss Adler making small talk with Mr. Legoshei but he is cold and just answers simply. Despite this, he appears to be being soft with her, as his voice is stiff as if it were unnatural not to spit out venom from inside his soulless being.
My final step in ensuring that this wasn't a scam was to touch it, to feel it. There was no other way to find out than to know.
My hands slowly reach out to feel the craftsmanship of the medallion as I stare at him. I feel it in order to show that I won't steal it, and see his face as I do. His gaze never leaves me and his expression never changes from being completely still. I really don't trust or like this guy. He seems to have little to no emotions and that's being generous.

'Maybe he feels a little too like you-'
I push that insignificant thought out of my head. It's stupid and annoying, nobody needs an inside voice like that, ever. Quickly giving the medallion a thoruough-as-possible inspection I can say that it's 100% real. Its craftsmanship is really something, it would take even one of the veteran smiths a year or two to do the lettering because of how intricate and detailed it is. Truly a piece of beauty to admire. And gently place it back on the table.
I turn over to Miss Adler to confirm that this is indeed a real medallion with unique craftsmanship and he just may be telling the truth.
