Gilly touched her face and noticed it was moist, looking in the mirror, she noticed they were tears. She was crying and what surprised her most was her not having any reason for such emotional outburst. The window opened up and a woman she didn’t know flew in.
“Who…”
She was confused, someone just randomly burst into her room, more shockingly from the window! Her voice trailed off as she observed the person land while looking at her demeanour, her eyes brightening upon recognition.
“Seras!”
She was still a tad shocked, Seras looked almost like Ephini with the only difference being their hair length and body feature.
Holding up her hand to her lip, she landed beside her bed sitting beside Gilly.
“You remember her, don’t you?”
Gilly was surprised at this. She did not speak only stared back. Seras’ hands went up to Gilly’s face with her thumbs just below her eyes.
“Seems your eyes are almost awake,” she said, a warm feeling flowing into the eyes, emanating from Seras’ hands. Gilly’s eyes were bombarded with new information, strange lines seemed to be attached with most objects.
“I, I see white lines, wha-, what is happening to me?”
She was scared, not knowing much about the intricacies of this world
“It is called Mana Sight. Under normal circumstances, only high class mages from Ninth Circle have a chance at this, but they are quite a few exceptions.”
She smiled at Gilly.
“Your mother seems to have passed this to you”
“Is it a bad thing?”
Hearing an explanation for it, she was relieved but curious.
“Not at all, in fact, it will help you. During your training two days with that battle-craving goddess, this was what helped you, though in a less manifested form. In combination with your keen battle sense from your father, you were able to keep up”.
Gilly was still surprised she had been out for two days.
“Do you know my father?”
Seras paused before answering,
“For your own good I can’t tell you that, but it should come to you soon seeing you finally remember your mother”
With that said, Seras got up and headed towards the window.
“Then I’m off to see my husband, it’s been about hundred years, hope he misses me,” she said, laughing as she flew back out, a gust of breeze closing the window behind her.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
Gilly was confused as to why she had said that but she threw the thought out the window.
As soon as Seras had left, the door opened and Mizin walked in holding Zin-Li who was munching a snack. Mizin glanced around the room before turning to Gilly.
“Hmph. Seems she beat me to it. At least she would keep her promise”. Ariel who was outside, closed the door behind them. As usual, Mizin pulled the only chair in the small room to the side of the bed and sat down. Zin-li already hopped on the bed looking at Gilly.
“Do, Do you remember anything?”
She rarely asked about her past making this encounter a bit awkward for her. Gilly was surprised but she nodded slightly, “I won’t pry, but do you finally know who you are?”. Gilly was a bit confused, she thought for a moment then replied. “I know at least a bit of my origin but to say I know myself……I don’t know. I can’t say either if my true self return, will is still be me”
Her face was filled with worry, Mizin understood her concern, the question being that of living a false life.
“When that time comes, you will have to decide,” she said, awkward silence filling the room, occasionally punctuated by chewing sounds.
Zin-Li dropped her snack and stood up on the bed, patting Gilly on the head.
“You’d be fine.”
This surprised Mizin, knowing the young one barely even spoke but was willingly comforting Gilly.
Gilly smiled at the girl, gradually calming down as Zin-Li sat back and resumed her snacking.
“You will soon be assigned a mission to the Demon continent, but first you have to go to Waterwheel to see the King. He has requested an audience with you, saying something about wanting to see Elna’s offspring”.
Gilly felt like this was more like a personal glory call than an audience, as she cast a puzzle look to Mizin.
This caused Mizin to sigh before responding.
“You see, during the Draconic war, a lot of people participated. First was the hero of the Dragon Bone, King Gilad, Myself, Richard and his wife Historia, your mother, Seras and many others who opposed the space dragon Latrynx and the Darkone with their faction.
“I don’t want to go into details; you can ask Abil when you reach Noir. The two most outstanding people in that war were Elna and King Gilad, you being her daughter sparked curiosity in him. Since him and Historia married Richard and had a twin, he wants to see whose child have more potential”.
Gilly had hit the nail on the head, she had no excuse to reject but she had non to accept either. She sighed knowing she would not be able to escape. “Don’t worry, Aroelan will go with you, also am sure he too will want his children to go with you to Noir”.
Gilly could not fight it; in the end, she fell in submission.
After that, the mood in the room became lighter. Mizin stood up and approached the window, prying it open to allow more light in.
“To be honest, I did not think that you will pass the test in one go.
“Make sure to keep all those rules in mind as you travel.”
They conversed for a bit before she exited the room. Zin-Li however, did not leave Gilly’s side; she held Gilly’s hand, pulling her close as she touched her on the forehead. A warm flow was felt followed by a bright light.
Zin-Li smiled and nodded her head in approval. She jumped off the bed running past Ariel who just walked in with a tray in hand. Gilly’s eyes suddenly swapped colours for a brief moment, to the notice of Ariel who pretended not to. In that moment of change, Gilly observed rays of black light emitting from Zin-Li’s body. It was even greater than that of Katherine from the capital by at least ten times. She took the meal from Ariel and rested for a few more days.
Seras flew to a mountain range in the country of Euynia. She landed close to a cave that emitted a frightening Silver aura. In it was a grand hall having pillars that seemed to stretch to the top of the cave. The floor was made of marble, reflecting her beauty. To a corner, a pile treasure and a large silver dragon sitting on top of it could be seen. It glanced up, looking at the person who walked on. Seeing it was Seras, he transformed into his humanoid form appearing before her.
The both stared at each other for a while sizing each other.
“It been a while,” Seras said,
“A while, you call hundred years a while?”
He was agitated and looked furious. Seras’ face wore a mischievous look before bursting out in laughter. The dragon was shocked at first then followed her lead. Hundred years for long-lived races were nothing, especially for dragons.
“Since you are here, I am guessing she has arrived”.
Seras smiled, acknowledging his statement.
