Chapter 3: Planet Forge

Chapter 3: Planet Forge

I stared at the star, overjoyed. Who would ever think I would create a star? "Kahahaha!" I madly laughed, "God, this is amazing!" This was the happiest I have ever been. I created a fucking star!

After a while, I calmed myself down. At this moment, I noticed that I was extremely close to the star, yet I felt no heat. I was staring directly at the star, yet I wasn't blinded. 'I guess it's my god physique... Wait. Do I even have a body?' I tried to look at myself, but I couldn't.

"System. Do I have a status?" I asked, still trying to look at my body. I suspected there is, since the system was already game like.

Yes.

"Bring up my status."

--STATUS--

True Name: Ailesh

Race: low-rank god

CE: 449.20666

Creations: 1 Star

--STATUS END--

"…" I stared silently at the panel in front of me, before mumbling. "That is short." I thought it would show something like stats, but I guess not. "Besides that, can you show me my appearance?"

Of course.

With that, a model of his body appeared before him. It was just a simple white ball of light, floating in space? "This is... me?" I inspected the body, moving around it. The ball of light had no other feature, be it eyes, legs, or even hands.

'Ahh...' So, this whole time I have been clicking things in the system, it had all been with my mind. Suddenly, I could see everything around me, like I had eyes on every single part of my body. "Shit." I cursed, becoming confused as to where I was actually facing.

'Oh, right.' I mentally palmed my forehead. 'I am just a simple ball.' I have no face. I focused and made myself only see from one part of my body, acting at my front. 'I guess I was unconsciously doing this when I thought I still had eyes and was not a floating ball of light.'

"System. Send away my model and tell me what exactly am I?" I asked, mentally moving my face around my body.

A low-rank god, and right now, you are just a soul. As a god, though being a low rank, nothing of mortal creation can hurt you. Nothing of mortal creation can kill you. And things like the brightness or heat of the star are nothing to you. Only a god can kill another god.

Hearing that, I smiled. It gave me a sense of superiority. I knew I was now a billion times superior to my former self and other humans, but hearing it confirmed was stimulating. Clearing my throat, I asked, "So, system. If I create a body, will the body be mortal?"

If you don't make it the body of a god, then yes, it will be mortal.

"I already know it will cost a lot to make the body of a god, so I won't even ask." I sighed, rejecting the plan that was forming in my head to make myself a body. If I do it, the body will just die due to the coldness of space or the heat of the star. 'Unless I made the body immune to those things. I mean, I just created a star with 245 CE, so I doubt I can't do that with the remaining CEs I have.'

Even though I knew I could do that, I decided against it. Why make a body? It's not like I need it. "System. I assume the next thing is to create, I mean, forge a planet where I will start my next life?"

Yes.

'Well, let's get on doing that.' The first thing I did was open up the flat map of my area, noticing that the map had curved around my star, like a heavy object on a bed sheet. 'I guess this is the analogy of the star bending space and time.' And the curve should be how wide the star's gravitational pull is, and the curve covered the green safe zone I am in. Meaning, even if I put a planet at the edge of the green zone, it should orbit the star. 'Unless it gets ejected.'

I looked at the map, compilating where to plop the planet down. If I drop it too close to the star, the planet would be too hot to have water, and too far and it will freeze. 'The habitable zone.' Maybe the god that was creating earth also thought of this.

I should be able to create a race that can survive the heat and live without water, but that would defiantly cost more than recreating a human look alike. "The more weakness the life form has, the less expensive it is. Isn't that right, system."

Most defiantly so.

"That's what I thought." So, how do you calculate the habitable zone again? I racked my brain, trying to figure out the formula. After a while, I gave up and asked. "System, can you tell me the habitable zone of my star?'

Would you like to spend 0.00001 CE on this information?

Stolen from its rightful author, this tale is not meant to be on Amazon; report any sightings.

I was taken aback by this but quickly recovered. 'I should have known not everything is free.' Besides, that is only equivalent to 1 karma point, and if you subtract that from my current CE, I will still have 449.20665 remaining. That is nothing. "Yes."

Instantly, knowledge flooded my mind, regarding the average distance of the habitable zone and the minimum and maximum distance. 'I thought it would just give me the information, but this is better.' The knowledge was engraved in my brain like it was something simple like 2 + 2. It is impossible to forget. "This is worth the 1 karma point I spent."

With this knowledge at hand, I looked back to the map, noting the place I can pulp the planet. The minimum distance it can be from the star is 1.3 au, and the maximum is 2.3 au. So the habitable zone is 1 au wide or 149,597,871 km wide.

'So the largest planet I can forge can only have the maximum diameter of 149,597,871 km.' I thought for a while, 'Or about 11 thousand the size of the earth.' I chuckled at this. "I don't even need to compare it to earth. That planet would be bigger than the star. The star would be orbiting the planet instead."

I busted out laughing at this realization. I can only imagine how earth scientists would react when they find a planet so large it had a sun size star orbiting it. 'I should see how much it would cost.' I thought, feeling giddy. "Planet forge."

Just like when I called out star forge, a new panel appeared. I didn't even think twice and dragged the bar to its max, which is 35,000 km in diameter.

'Ah...' I should have expected that. I turned my attention to the type of planet, noticing its default was Terrestrial. 'Hmm... maybe...' I clicked it, and a selection screen popped up.

Planet type

--> Gas planet

--> Ice planet

--> Carbon planet

--> Helium planet

--> Terrestrial planet

Selecting Gas planet, the limit to the planet's diameter increased and the bar went almost to the beginning. Smiling, I dragged it again to the max, and this time, a glaring red exclamation mark appeared at the bottom of the screen. Clicking on it, a warning appeared.

*Warning!!! Upon creation, this planet would undergo Stellar nucleosynthesis and become a red dwarf.*

'Now, that I should have expected.' I thought, before pausing. 'Size doesn't equal mass, so...' I turned my attention to the mass of the planet, noticing it had also reached the max. Confused, I started reducing the size of the planet, noticing the mass also reducing, albeit, slower. "I guess the size and mass of the planet are interconnected, or else gravity won't be able to hold it together."

With my experimentation done, I returned the planet to a terrestrial planet and the bar was reduced to the max of a terrestrial planet. Moving it, I gave the planet a similar size to earth and compared it to the habitable zone of my star.

"I can make it bigger and it would still be within the habitable zone." I kept adjusting it until it became too big that I thought it will theoretically orbit out of the habitable zone a for few hours twice during its 730-day orbital period due to the orbit being eccentric. One, when it moves further from the sun, and one when it comes closer to the sun.

'Hmm...' I thought for a while, staring at the planet 55 times the mass of earth and about 2 times bigger than earth. "Should I forge this?" I liked the idea of there being two apocalyptic periods in a year. 'But I doubt any life would survive that.'

Deciding against it, I reduced the planet's size and mass for it to remain in the habitable zone completely all through its orbit. "Oh?" I noticed the price to forge the planet had increased. Squinting my eyes, I moved the planet out of the habitable zone, noticing the price to forge the planet drop.

'So, I didn't need to ask the system for the habitable zone. I could have just moved the planet around and see where the price to forge it is at its peak.'

I sighed at this, but decided not to dwell on it and returned the planet to the habitable zone and increased it back to the former size, 55x earth's mass and about 2x earth's size. "I will let evolution take care of that." With this in mind, I clicked forge, and 83 CE disappeared.

The map also disappeared and far from me, I saw a planet appear. "Haah..." I sighed, knowing I will have to move a long way to get to the planet---

I suddenly found myself above my planet. "What the hell!?" I shouted, looking behind me to see the glinting white star far behind me. "System. What was that?"

Selective teleportation. All gods can instantaneously teleport to any of their creations regardless of distance.

"That's...that is handy." I mumbled. I could already see the potential of that. Having two planets. No, two moons across the universe would give a god the ability to teleport across the universe instantaneously. "I should do this if I survive long enough." I mumbled, smiling. I knew I was going to die, but I wasn't scared. 4 billion years was, after all, a long time.

"Oh, by the way. How are the years calculated?" I asked, curious if 365 is the correct time for one year.

Time is relative. Some gods see one day as one billion years for mortals, some mortals see 365 days as one year, while some see 900 days as one year. Your 4 billion years of protection is calculated as 365 days a year. If you so wish, you can change the calculation.

"Leave it that way." I replied, ignoring the fact that it just said that some gods see one day as one billion years and turning to my planet, which was basically a lava planet, with its surface entirely covered by molten lava. "Welp, this will take a while to turn to rock. Millions, I would guess."

I stared silently at the planet, trying to decide what to do while he waited. "System. I can create life, right?"

Absolutely.

"Life forge." I already made a star and a planet this way, so the command was obvious. But this time, a new message appeared.

Life Forge

--> Life Forge: Manually create the life form you want. *Recommended.*

--> Seed of Life: Drop a seed of life and let the life develop according to evolution. *Warning!!! There is a chance no life will develop.* *Warning! For new gods, it is recommended to pick the first option.*

I wanted to create a race I always wanted to make. Like the one, I wrote down but never implemented in my book, but that would be too boring. I already know their potential, their abilities, weaknesses, and whatnot. It will be extremely lacking in excitement to watch a race like that develop more than a race that I know nothing about.

"Second one it is." I mumbled, selecting it.

Please, select it in the designated area to drop the seed and you will be rallied the cost.

With that notification, the flat map of space reappeared, with my planet slowly orbiting my star. Curious, I clicked my star and a red notification appeared.

*Warning!!! The CE cost exceeds what you currently hold and your rank is too low to drop the seed of life in this location. Please, select another location.*

"Ok." I nodded, mentally sending the notification and clicking space, and a similar notification appeared. Sending it away, I clicked on my planet and another notification appeared.

*Warning!! All your remaining 366.20665 CE will be consumed for this action. Do you wish to proceed? Yes/No.*

"Jesus. Including the decimals?" I mumbled, surprised at the coincidence. "No." I replied. "System. What happens if I lose all my CE?"

Nothing happens to you. You just won't be able to do things that require CE.

I nodded, asking. "So, how do I regain CE?"

Points can be gained in a multitude of ways. The most known way is the death of a god's creation. The other way, you have to discover yourself.

"Hmm..." I turned to my star. "So, if I destroy my star right now, I will get CE?"

Affirmative. Though, it won't be a profit. If it dies a natural death or lived a long life, there is a higher chance of profit.

"Thou shalt not kill. Book of Exodus chapter 20 verse 13." I mumbled, "Now I see why God is so against killing in the bible. He wanted this CE." I couldn't help but chuckle. "I guess he abandoned earth after he became a big God that a planet like the earth was nothing to him. Am I right, system?"

I cannot answer questions regarding other gods.

"That confirms that he is, indeed, a god like me." I smiled, feeling like I outsmarted the system. Pushing that thought to the back of my mind, I turned my attention back to the planet. "To drop or not to drop."

Dropping it would pose a high risk. There is a chance there will be no life, and I will lose everything. With this thought, I felt oddly aroused. 'Shit.' I gritted his imaginary teeth, fighting the urge to drop the seed and watch what happened. Gacha and gambling was always my weak spot, and this was the epiphany.

"FUCK IT!!!" I roared, "Lifeforgeselectseedoflife!" I commanded the system in once single breath and clicked my planet. Without thinking, I clicked yes.

And instantly, I regrated it.
