End Boss 67

“ Lady Terrance. Here is the list of everything they wanted. Any profits I make are to be used in buying these materials other than a small cut they would allow me to take for myself, this is different than what you expect isn’t it? Also it seems like they are using pre existing paths in the mountains each one in use is not one we have control over… actually they have avoided our eyes a bit too perfectly for it to be luck. What should I do?”

“ Where are they now?” Lady Terrance asked.

“ About that I don’t know… personally but the one named Raven, the disgusting dark elf and I meet a predetermined spot each weak.”

“ For now we will just watch. Dismissed”

A blond woman sat in the fancy dress that was to her standard of nobility and turn to look out the window. Her city is at the very base of a mountain that extends over a large portion of the northern lands. She sighed as she looked at the mountain that was becoming obscured due to the setting sun.

Off in the distance, past the city, up the mountain stood a man and a woman. The woman was watching the events of the meeting between her middleman and Lady Terrance play out.

“ Then… was I used?”

“ That’s right.” Varon said. “ but more importantly than that is my metals here?”

“ partly yes… although some so rare that it’s not a matter of money any more and that’s not to mention how expensive things are… although the small hill of gold we have should be enough there is this flower you requested that no one knows off. I am afraid it will be impossible to acquire if I cannot find it or it isn’t around anymore.”

“ That’s fine. I have alternate methods without that flower.”

“ May I ask? What is it you are trying to make?”

“ I am attempting to split my soul into halves.”

“ I am not an expert but that doesn’t sound good for you.”

“ Very perspective of you Raven. That right of Lung fails at her mission I sent her on I will probably die.”

The conversation came to a close just as quick as it started then Varon started the conversation up again. “ You know that most nobility see me as worthless? But at the same time I have had more assassins try and kill me than my sister or brother have. Isn’t that funny.”

“ Does this have something to do with earlier?”

“ Just shut up and listen for a bit.”

“ Yes sir.”

“ See in the eyes of nobility I am weak and powerless. No it might be better to say I am valueless to their society there is also nothing to gain from my death. Not absolutely nothing but not enough to be worthwhile doing it and yet in my entire family I am the one who has had the most assassination attempts why is that?”

“ I don’t know.”

“ Because there is less risk to it.”

“ That’s all? That’s a simple answer.”

“ Is it? If you stop to think about it hard enough than it becomes strange, doesn't it. They tryed to kill me because there was less risk.”

“ I don’t get it. Doesn’t that make sense.”

“ Your not thinking!”

“ I am sorry could you please enlighten this mind of mine.”

“ They take a look at my sister. All her beautiful power and look at how much they have to gain from removing her. Then they realise that it would be extremely risky to try anything against her it at that point they set their eyes on Varon… and they see that there is less risk so they go for it. Isn’t that stupid. If there was no glorious reward behind killing my sister they would never give me any attention even though they haven’t got a lot to gain from me dying at all they see the reward because of my sister. That act even through there is no reason to and often trying to kill me actually is detrimental to them. Why do humans do this? It insanity. There is so much about the actions of humans that I don’t understand.”

“ I still don’t get what this has to do with our previous conversation.” At the words of Raven the conversation ended again. Until it was restarted by Ren after a few minutes.

“ Umm what is the mission you sent Kung on?”

“ I have a project I am working on and it will require a few things… I need 500,000 souls. That is the second half.”

“ Does that mean… it doesn’t does it.”

“ I will have her kill 500,000 souls.”

“ May I ask where these souls are coming from?”

“ Yes… I sent her to the land of the elves because elves souls are better. Hey Raven I want to ask you… when you where a kid did you ever hear the word litch.”

“ Oh yes my owner would use the word to scare me into submission when I was younger. I use to be so scared of them but when I grew up I discovered that they aren’t real so… they aren’t

real right.” Varon was looking directly into Ravens eyes.

“ Are you happy you childhood fears are real after all because the dead are about to walk this world once more.”

Once again all noise stopped and Raven for the first time in his life felt that she had made a large mistake. He had truly fucked up. He had helped the wrong person. He wondered if he could run… no he thought he couldn’t do it… at least not until he knows what Varons power is.

Varon was already aware. He had planted the seed of rebellion in Ravens heart. This was also part of his plan.

“... then what is the first thing?”

“ Oh that’s something that only three people I know would be able to get me. A holy sword.”

“ A holy sword! But Wasn’t that destroyed!”

“ It was. Or at least the one in this world was.

“ What this world!”

“ Yep, so we are just going to have to get one from another world.”
