Each step the creatures takes makes the floor vibrate, they are up to twenty feet tall and a jab from their leg will instantly kill anyone. Without waiting for any of us to regain over composure they attacked swiftly. It was really fast but the distance between us and them gave us a chance to parry their attacks by an inch. Everybody sprung into action, Ruth instantly swapped places with the debris hovering above one of the creatures. She placed her hand on the ceiling and it suddenly disappeared and instantly reappeared landing on top of the creature’s head in just a span of a minute, what followed was a loud crashing sound which sent the creature tumbling over. But nothing even a scratch was found on the creature, their body seems to be some kind of armor. I made the sign of Ba and summoned spirals of light made out of flame directing it towards the legs of the one the beast. It cut them like butter, that took a lot of energy but it was worth it.
The third one leaped up over its comrades who were finding it hard to get up. I wanted to conjure another light but Rite sprung pass me and unzipped his bag which revealed a big black organic like gun, the massive weapon instantly glued to his body and let out a big blast pushing the beasts further down the passage. My ears rang from the sound alon, two of them were left on the floor but the third one was unfazed by it. It moved like lightning towards us, but its main target was probably me. The twins who were unmoving bolted towards it, one of them clapped their hands and a spark was created instantly, the other twin immediately grabbed the light and sent it flying towards the creature which resulted in a violent explosion, the shockwave sent us flying across the hallway.
I saw Ruth face above me saying something but my ears were ringing so loud. “ Are you alright?” Her expression has a hint of concern which I found amusing. “Yeah I’m ok” I said while standing up, the whole place was filled with smoke and fire. Visibility was poor so I couldn’t see anything. “Did we get it?” Rite said next to Ruth. “ I don’t think so I can still feel its presence.” I looked at the twins, their gaze still on me. That was a powerful attack. If I hadn’t used a shield to protect us there would probably be some casualties. Only two of the creatures were up in flames but the one who was eating our attacks like it was nothing was nowhere to be found. “where is it?” Ruth asked, there was this calmness in her voice like the whole ordeal was amusing to her. “It’s supposed to be right next to us but where…” I slowly moved my head up and the beast was right above us. It leaped towards us, there was no way we could evade its attack this time. Instantly my scenery changed, I found myself looking at the original place I was standing. The others were next to me, Ruth teleported us because she was standing in front of me. The centipede-like creature stood over its comrades who were up in flames, they disintegrated and their particles leached to the creature.
It morphed into another insect, a scorpion. Its size increased, massive claws. Its has two tails, they are sharp , pointy and oily with venom. The only option we have is — “Run!” Rite screamed and none of us hesitated. This felt embarrassing, it’s a matter of time before the creature catches up with us. I stopped because it’s useless. The creature will eventually atches up with us. I ran towards it, something ached in my chest I don’t know what. Making the signs of ka and Ba, I rattled the creature with lightning. The hallway vibrates
but it couldn’t get past the armor. The beast continued forward, and so did I. One of its tail moved swiftly towards me and I made the ground slippery and went off my feet sliding down on it. The tail passed me just an inch, the momentum still carrying me towards its legs. I instantly conjured the spirals of light taking a good portion of its legs situated on the left side of its body.
The creature lost its balance and stumbled, the adrenaline made me forget about the second tail which was already coming at me at an insane speed. My place was instantly switched with Ruth. Who instantly switched her place to evade the tail, while in mid air she swapped the creature position with some stones in the air. It was a perfect position for Rite to blast it. He brought hands together and they absorbed each other to form a perfect canon. The cannon spat out blinding light and blasted the beast with it, sending the creature into the ceiling. A good portion of the armor came off. The creature fell down from the ceiling, bartered. One of its tail was glowing red, the creature smashed the tail on the floor causing a large explosion, incinerating the entire floor,

The floor collapsed, sending everyone on it down. Ruth swapped everyone's positions letting us avoid the debris. The creature was covered in large boulders which were once the floor. This is getting tiring, I should have stayed at home. The creature stood up but couldn’t stand properly, Then its legs I chopped off grew back instantly. Uggh this is getting daunting. “The creature has points which are located in its joints, the points are passages to a magical gateway which gives the creature life. If we take out those points the creature will die instantly.” I blunted out, they all looked at me with a surprised expression on their face. The twins' expressions didn’t change, their gaze still fixated on me for whatever reason. But it doesn’t bother me, I need to rest my eyes and I’m kind of hungry.
“Why didn’t you say that earlier?” Rite said with a little emotion in his voice. I didn’t reply.
“Alright no need to cry over spilled milk, let’s end it “ Ruth said while looking at the creature who seems to be raging. I leaped forward, Ruth instantly knew what I intended to do and switched my place midair. I bind the creature with lines made out of light, but its tails are still free, I opened the gates of inferno over the tails and instantly closed it, they were clean cut. The creature screeched, “Yes, right at home.” I landed on the creature body and absorbed the magical essence on it . It was still resisting that irked me so I opened the gate of inferno and sent it in. The gate closed behind me, I didn’t bother to look at their faces. Everything here was getting boring, my hands were aching and my stomach was tight and empty at the same. “I was wondering when you would show your true colors.” Ruth said while coming into my view, a smirk was on face.
“So why did you —“ I stopped mid sentence. It wasn't worth asking. “I just decided to play along, do you remember what I said earlier?” A wicked smirk was on her face. “Oh, I see.” I said briskly. “Baldwin! Show yourself enough of these games.” The wall next to us vibrated and a face appeared on it. An old man's face. “Same Beth, you know I initially wanted to test you. You’re the only one that interests me the most. The others were just mere curiosity. Oh Beth you know the reason I called you here you’re sharp. I was surprised you came, did you pity this frail old man to fulfill his wish? “ The face on the wall smiled, revealing a misplaced set of teeths. “I just came to kill time and get some stuff out of my mind.”
