Chapter 91: Time
A little more than a week ago, O'rmon felt a touch happy after Safo told that he wasn't angry at her. He even invited her to join the hunt, not only that but Safo promised to give her a "special task" that only she could do.
O'rmon couldn't dare to dream about a chance like that.
Everything started when they arrived at the capital planet of New Tenga. On her first day off after many months of searching for a princess, she went to relax. She had a wonderful "me time" which recharged her energy to work.
As usual, she visited the orphanage where she donated her salary for more than ten years. There she learned about recent kidnaps of the children, and how Kardon Gar made them stop.
Her relationship with Kardon was a complicated one, she loved him from a very young age. As far as she knew herself, she had an attraction to the indifferent to her young man.
Before the long-term mission that eventually brought her to the Earth, O'rmon and Kardon had a few dates. She was never happier in her entire life. From the very first moment, O'rmon was ready to give her life to make Kardon like her.
At that time Kardon Gar was a recently appointed head of the Internal Security department. He was ambitious, strong, and knew what he wanted. He wanted a wife that would love him and never betray him. O'rmon was the best option.
Kardon shared his vision of the New Tenga with O'rmon, he said that she has to be by his side when he will make changes that will bring Psiora race to prosperity. She was glad to.
After a long parting, the couple met at an upscale restaurant where Kardon asked her help.
Kardon always needed to know everything about the people that he interacted with. He explained how and why Safo Nur will be better in the role of an Adviser than a King. O'rmon understood. She helped.
She felt uneasy but it was for the right purpose. She told Kardon everything that she could.
But on a tournament day, Kardon presented her as a traitor. He spoke of her as if he despised her.
O'rmon was crushed. She stood in a room full of people but was alone in the whole universe. She disregarded the staring and questions about her betrayal. She observed the match closely to be on time if one of the combatants tried to kill another.
She would've stood before Safo if Kardon decided to finish him off, she was sure about it.
It was Safo who won the fight, and she shielded Kardon with her body. It was proof that she was a rat in a team all along.
After the match, O'rmon went to visit Kardon but was yelled at. He said that he hated her, that she was no more than a tool. A piece of garbage that no one will keep close.
She even had suicidal thoughts. She couldn't leave Kutch. How could she?!
In an apartment full of people who she let down, there was no place for her. She locked herself in her room. Spending days crying in regrets.
When Safo came to her with his " I don't care" monologue, she had new hope. A man who she betrayed wanted her back. She couldn't let him down again.
She was on board but was betrayed by Safo. He practically ordered her to sit in her room, just because. The "special mission" was to revise her past and plan her future. She was banned from joining a team.
The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.
She felt abandoned. Safo called her to the ship only to make sure that she would suffer more. Cornered, angry, she locked herself again. However, her habits took over her and she began to write about her past.
Each time she started over, a few new details came to her mind. She started to remember better, more details about her brother, than about her mother that she missed a lot. At last, she remembered those precious but short times spent with her father.
The memories that were lost over time, by focusing on the present only. She lost the very meaning of being connected, she lost the blessing of the past and excitement of the future. As a result, she lost herself.
O'rmon reconsidered her life and rethought her actions. She started to like herself. She started to appreciate her life, her time.
Surprisingly for her, it was soothing. It was refreshing. Her mind became light, her depression faded in the background. She started listening to music, watching movies, and other entertaining programs. O'rmon found herself being interested in VD games.
She finally found free time for things like that. She was free.
O'rmon was testing a horror VD game that she later discovered when the crew of the ship knocked at her door. She simply didn't hear them.
But when the light turned off in her room and the whole ship quaked, she left her room to talk to the captain. To her shock, she found the truth.
"How could you let them go? It's suicide!"
"You think he listens to me?! Everybody is stubborn here." Captain was unable to keep his sorrow hidden.
"Please help Kutch to load the cannonballs then we must teleport you down to save Safo."
Usually, it took over 10 minutes to load the old-fashioned cannons. In the ship battle, time was crucial. O'rmon's help made the victory more real. Thanks to her, Dost lost only one arm.
When all of them gathered at the deck, and an order to get ready for the sortie was given, O'rmon was the first to be ready and was first to be teleported to rescue Safo.
The whole Green Twinkle crew members heard Safo's agony. O'rmon was scared just by that. She couldn't imagine facing those monstrous creatures let alone fighting them. She admired Safo's braveness and stupidity.
Descending to the dark crack with her jetpack she heard more and more screams. When she found a tunnel Safo went quiet.
O'rmon was at the entrance of the tunnel, she couldn't believe that she came late. She didn't want to believe, didn't want to accept.
Just when she had something to say to him when finally she was thankful to him. She was grateful for his actions towards her. She couldn't say if Safo was trying to help her or simply punish her. But it worked.
O'rmon didn't believe that she was late because of some unknown feeling inside of her. An alien feeling, telling her that she was, in fact, right on time for the first time in her life.
O'rmon applied all of her resources from the start, three kilometers before the cave.
One, two, three steps and the gained the maximum speed that was able to gain. But she still stood where she was.
She gave more speed, nothing changed. O'rmon didn't move despite all of her speed. She was skidding in one place. Her surroundings blurred as usual when she was moving at a high speed, but she couldn't leave her position.
'I must go, I won't let him die. Not like that.'
Her legs became obscure, her muscles tightened. She focused on rescuing Safo and apprehending the reason for her issue.
"Absorb this, motherfuc*er!" The voice of Safo rang in her ear.
It shocked her to the bones, but at the same time made her move.
'Didn't he have said that a minute before? Or it is his catchphrase before the kill.' Unable to receive an answer she just did her best to move forward, as fast as she could.
Three kilometers passed in a split second when came close to the entrance, O'rmon couldn't help but stop. First time in her life she White-Black. It was on top of another, seemingly dead White-Black.
Safo was pushed between the body and the wall, his arm was inside the eye of a White-Black.
Like a flash O'rmon run by the monster that was about to bite Safo. O'rmon used her molecular separation Disk-Swords to cut the back of the monster, in an attempt to distract it from Safo.
Soundless screech followed by vibration waves indicated that White-Black felt the pain of having a long deep cut.
Safo stood behind the dead pterodactyl body with wide-open eyes.
'What happened just now? I can swear that I died under the dino no?'
{"Safo, Safo White-Black is inside you. It is here with its Soul Stone."}
"Come down, exit the room and close the door. Is it attacking you?"
{"Ummm...No. It is just there, sleeping, actually."}
"Then let it be. Could you please prepare a bucket of water for me? I must save O'rmon."
{"Will do."}
After one attack, the skin of the White-Black absorbed all energy from O'rmons swords. They became regular sharp swords.
Safo was drained and couldn't be useful in a fight.
"I have only one way here. I will be a psiora as I'm supposed to be."
