Chapter 20: Giant vs. Bird

Without any warning, the creature whose head was facing us on the top of the tree, moved one of its large hands and tried to hit us. The drastic change of the red lines on the invisible barrier moved like worms, only to turn around in front of the hand of the creature moving in his direction. The visibility of his movement seemed slower the closer he got to us, but the human looked at me as if I didn't understand the situation:

"Move!" He screamed and floated to the wall of information with his hand touching the "Run" engraving. I quickly recovered to understand the situation and at the same time commanded the body to move to the sides. Within a few moments, the body moved to the side before the creature's hand crashed into the position the body was in only moments before, causing air to push our movements further apart before the body began to drop to the ground below. The creature looked at us during all these moments:

'Don't think you'll get away from me easily!'

"How did we make him so angry?!" The human raised his voice in light of the situation while I focused on trying to land safely on the ground. The movement of creature's limbs began to move to the sides while it was recovering from throwing its hands to the top of the tree. His size didn't exactly help to hurt us but to annoy him somehow.

The body straightened while it should have spread its wings to stop the fall not before we saw in our field of vision how its other arm with the big claws tried to hurt us. One blow from it is a death sentence. I'm trying to figure out how to get out of the situation before I hit the ground. Luckily, the creature's arm missed us, but due to the force of the impact in the air, to our knowledge, it threw the small body we were inside away from its arm, causing us to land on the ground and jump to it.

Even though the place does not move or feel all the movements that the body makes, the impact was felt by both of us with a not-so-gentle landing even so. The human recovered quickly before the creature moved its head through the tree and away from it, to try to see us and began to speak:

"I don't think we can outrun him!" He raised his voice causing me to look at him pointing at the word "Run" glowing orange. Something that wasn't there before, even though it keeps touching there.

[And what do you suggest we do?! Fighting against him?!] I tweeted in front of him and he replied:

"We have no choice. He cannot understand us or ignore us. We are small and as you noticed, it is quite difficult for him to hurt us with his huge body"

In his words when he said, his head locked on us and he started growling:

'There you are, bird!'

Even with his huge size, he quickly with one of his arms began to try to step on us. He curled his claws into a fist before I could see in my field of vision how he was moving it with surprising agility in my direction, aiming to kill. I in turn responded by commanding the body to move to the side. With precise timing, the body managed to dodge his punch, while the air push indicated how powerful the impact on the ground was, causing it to move further away from him. But despite this, I felt how much my legs were starting to hurt.

"We don't have many choices, we have to climb it if we have a chance to survive it"

The creature recovers from the previous hit before moving its arms to hit again.

[Where?!]

I chirped before the creature began to do its side with its claws, it began to send it towards the body. I commanded the body to move away from the point of impact, but the movement was even faster, that the body did not have time to dodge and its large claws managed to scratch hard and tear off some of the down and flesh. A pain I had not felt before was felt from behind me.

"Oh no oh no!" The human said before looking in front of the invisible barrier and back to the wall of information, seeing the HP levels drop rapidly and stop.

'You're pathetic, bird! Unable to fly'

The creature seemed to be teasing as he moved his arm from the point of impact and began moving his claws once more which seemed to be covered in blood.

Suddenly the human began to speak and quickly floated to the invisible barrier:

"Climb on his leg!" He moved with a speed I hadn't seen before back to the wall, touching the "Climb" inscription. The body reacted surprisingly but moved in a different direction than it had aimed. The pain that enveloped me gently began to disappear and with it, I commanded my body to move towards the moment. The body reacted back and moved as far as it could before the creature began to understand the deafness and began to move its legs away from us and lifted one of them, aiming to step on us.

I in the same breath, commanded the body to jump to his feet. The body lifted in a few moments and floated in the air. Time slowed down in that fateful moment and the creature's legs began to land its next blow. The human continued to touch the inscription and closed his eyes.

The body suddenly moved to the side and managed to grab the creature's legs with its legs and without my command, began to grab onto it. The foot that stepped firmly missed us and caused an impact crater in its place. The creature began to shake its legs that we were on and quickly climbed on it:

'Annoying bird!'

The creature growled and continued to shake its legs before our foot could step on its furry back. The creature tried to throw its hands where we were, but its arms were too short to reach us. In those moments, we felt safe.

"We have to do something before the situation gets worse!" the human said while looking at me, seeing the injury area on my body behind me, even though my physical presence did not exist outside the scene. I, in return, did the only thing I could think of - to peck him.

The body reacted and with its thick and sharp beak, sent its head towards the creature's hairy skin and pecked it hard. The creature went berserk at the moment of impact and tried to shake all sides just to get us off it.

'Get off me, you stupid bird!'

The creature growled at us trying as hard as he could to get us down. But as long as the inscription "Climb" glowed, the body continued with its full power to hold it on his body. All I commanded him was to keep poking him hard and I could see how blood started to flow from the injured area.

"It's not enough! I don't think we have the strength or the stamina to last here. We have to do something!"

The human thought in moments that the strength of the body began to weaken more and more while the wound on the creature's body expanded. Suddenly he remembered something and began to touch the inscription "Animism" and it in turn glowed with a strong light.

I could not do anything in particular to see what was happening, that pain continues to be felt and the exhaustion begins to increase every moment. I could hear the human's voice echoing in the place:

"I want to summon a spirit here that can help us!" The place glowed like it hadn't before before the light faded and returned to what it was before. The creature continued to struggle against us but the body succumbed to fatigue and fell from the creature's legs to the ground beneath it. The gentle bump in the ground was felt as the creature stopped making sounds and stopped moving. Me and the human also crashed on the floor from exhaustion, and are at the mercy of the environment.

The invisible barrier showed how the creature suddenly began to gently retreat from the place and without making a sound, collapsed under its limbs and just like us, crushed on the ground, without us being able to see anything. We could see how the creature's large legs struggled with the ground to try to stand, but then we heard breaking sounds from it and its legs stopped moving.

There was silence in the moments after this unexpected event. I dragged myself towards the invisible barrier to see what happened, but the human also began to approach and pick me up against my will. I could see his intense exhaustion as well as mine. We both looked into the field of vision, only to see one thing written on it:

----------------------------------------

Congratulations!

You have killed Argonarproc'aid!

A different power level has been detected.

A reward is going to be distributed soon!

what did you do?! how am I going now......

----------------------------------------

"What the hell did I just see?" The human said while he sees how the body of the creature is laid in front of us in silence, we are all surprised by the situation that was considered.

"I didn't think spirits were something as powerful as weapons, but here we are. I thought maybe spirits could only heal us or at least send us away, but not kill a creature! Didn't I ask to kill it?" The human is brooding to himself as usual while I look at the giant dead body. The exhaustion began to feel relieved but hunger took its place. We found no fruit in the tree near us, but the body next to us moved again and fresh blood still flowed from the wound of my beak stabs.

The human thinks the same but I'm not exactly sure if we should...

General information:

It is a moderately flightless bird. They are mostly herbivores that eat fruits, seeds, and roots but are also able to eat and crack mollusks, crustaceans, and fish when the opportunity arises.

Their large and powerful beaks are capable of causing quite a bit of damage and are adapted to the food they eat, but they will more often than not choose to flee rather than fight, even though they have no natural fear.

This is a bird that does not exist in this world and should not exist. There is nothing like her in this world.

Some say that they can understand their surroundings better than anything else, but this is not proven or disproved, it can be seen that sometimes their feathers change according to their mood and the state of the environment in which they live.
