Chapter 11:
"You're really going to do this, aren't you, oversized chicken! I'm not surprised anymore" He looked into the mirror outside, as we approached the chaos going on outside - one of the overturned carriages was on fire as a large group surrounded them, their mirror began To become clear with every step taken by the body trying to cross the path paved with stones through them. One could see how among all the commotion, a small group seemed to be working with them, trying to oppose the many surrounding them.
As we got even closer to the area, one of the small groups wearing something shiny started to pull out something that resembled a stick that was just as shiny as the layer it was on, trying to show something strange before the large group started moving in his direction. The human began to advance towards the wall of information:
"Get out of here before all the fire is on us!"
He touches the text "run" before the body begins to behave exactly as it was written, and we begin to run away from the place. You could hear how the sounds of access and the noise of meat being cut became weaker as we moved away from the place and the smell of fire and blood together.
The feeling of exhaustion began to accumulate until the human pressed the script again at that moment, we both collapsed together with the body that dragged itself away from the stone track at my command before collapsing as well.
[You're crazy!]
I chirped loudly as we felt the after-effects of the run. The exhaustion was heavy and all we could do was watch the smoke from the place still visible on the horizon as the sun began to set.
We remained seated on the smooth ground not before the human moved gently towards the invisible barrier, seeing something:
"Do you see it?" He said before moving out of my line of sight. Something small was written floating on it:
----------------------------------------
Congratulations!
Your choice changed fate.
Please don't do this again.
----------------------------------------
Whose fate has changed?! All we did was pass through them.
"Who is it that says we did something? Who is it?" He pounded on the barrier furiously, before continuing to speak:
"Who is it that tells us not to do this again?! We did nothing but walk through them quietly!" He suddenly changed his mind:
"Despite that, it's weird the more I think about it... we don't have time for that. Let's find a place for the body to rest for today, and maybe we'll be lucky if there's something to eat in the area before the body collapses on us"
He's acting weird as well, but I can't help but agree with him this time. I commanded the body to look around before we found a nearby tree with fruit on it. It seemed to be our lucky day before we climbed, picked one of them, and ate it. As soon as all the preparations were finished, the body began to prepare for sleep and began to close its eyes and leave the surroundings dark.
The human stood by the wall of information like an apparition that had become permanent, counting the changing writing before he turned to me:
"Do you believe in fate? To be honest, I don't exactly believe that fate is something fixed, if at all."
[I don't think I'm aware of the concept of fate]
He looked at me for several moments before returning to look at the scripture. It wasn't long before the body opened its eyes.
If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.
But as soon as the invisible barrier began to reveal the visible as always, something else watched us very close. Me and the human are surprised by the sight - his face is extremely close to the invisible barrier / eyes and shows how furry he is with sharp teeth. His eyes were curious and large.
The human panicked as usual.
'What did you find up there?' A voice from below was heard not before his large and strange face turned to the source of the voice:
'I found a strange bird!' It said aloud to the voice below not before it started moving on the branch it was on.
"The otters are back!" He dribbled in the corner in panic before looking back at me:
"What are you doing? Let's get out of there!"
Looking a bit giggling every time I see him startled by them, I commanded the body to get up and jump to the branch next to us. He looked at us in wonder while we did this, not moving in his direction. A voice from below began to speak again:
'Looks like you found an intriguing bird there. Leave her alone and try to grab a fruit or two for your grandfather'
'Ok!' He said before he began to clumsily move to another branch that was also full of fruit and threw some of them down. The body followed the fallen fruits and we could see who it was that spoke down - a large and armored gray otter, but with many blood marks on it, like one that had been through many battles.
"I think I recognize him: isn't that the one who stood in the little group earlier?" The human said before continuing to speak: "Looks like they managed to survive against all odds. Now let's get out of here!"
The body began to lock onto the trunk and gently descend, not before the armored otter shifted its focus on us and approached us. The human moved quickly to the wall and started trying to touch the inscription, but the otter was faster than us and caught us:
'That's definitely a particularly intriguing bird you found there' he looked at us. His eyes were big blue eyes.
Panicked, he began trying to press all the engravings, but for some strange reason, none of them glowed properly. Maybe it's because the situation is different from usual? While I was watching him, I noticed that suddenly one of his eyes started to change its color to a glowing red. I have never seen anything like this before. The barrier suddenly began to write something even stranger as soon as the human touched something that had not been touched before - "Universal understanding":
----------------------------------------
You are under the ability "Appraisal"!
----------------------------------------
The human looked as well, not understanding what happened, and went into sensory failure and collapsed. It seems that only I now see what is happening. This seems to be the end of us. This seems to be what the human meant about fate - death.
'I think you found something particularly interesting and unexpected'
The body turned to see the little otter start to go down and start to pick up the fruit he dropped. The otter that caught us began to move towards him and released us from his fingers:
'I believe that's what you saw right?'
'Yes! This is the strangest bird I have seen! She is so big! you know what it is?'
The big otter looked at the little one put his free hand on his face and caressed him:
'That's what I'm interested in - I think I'm a bit old enough to learn something new at my age' he chuckled.
'He's so gray with little wings and a huge beak! He looks funny!'
'I think he's still a cub, like you' he chuckled not before he took his hand off his face and the little otter looked at us with his big eyes:
Can we keep it? I promise to raise him well' he got excited and looked at me curiously. The armored otter chuckled before looking at us as well:
'Are you sure you can do this? Raising a chick is a lot of responsibility! You must nurture him and feed him well well' he looked at him with a smiling face, similar to that of the human who is now lying unconscious in the corner like a fallen tree when he is excited about things.
The body looked around. He is currently sitting on the otter's hands and sees that there is an opportunity to escape. The human continues to lie on the floor. I checked this after trying to peck it without success.
[I hate him]
I looked at the invisible barrier and saw how they continued to look at us curiously, like father and son on the body. I'm not sure that the body will be able to escape from them if it manages to escape from his hand. Should we let them do what they don't want to do or run away from here?

General information:
It is a moderately flightless bird. They are mostly herbivores that eat fruits, seeds, and roots but are also able to eat and crake mollusks, crustaceans, and fish when the opportunity arises.
Their large and powerful beaks are capable of causing quite a bit of damage and are adapted to the food they eat, but they will more often than not choose to flee rather than fight, even though they have no natural fear.
This is a bird that does not exist in this world and should not exist. There is nothing like her in this world.
