(Ch. 7) Six Months

(Ch. 7) Six Months

Five days of training went by in an instant, with only one day left until Bellion’s guest was going to arrive so he gave me a break.

With nothing to do because of the break the day dragged on and on, so as soon as i finished eating I went to sleep.

A blinding light danced into my peripheral vision, waking me from the restless sleep.

I walked over to the mirror which was reflecting the sunlight from my window directly towards my bed.

Since I was now awake I had breakfast and then I snuck off with Lindon and Lillian again, we were becoming quite close. We had been hanging out almost every day after I finished training.

Lindon acted more like a normal 8 year old when it was just the three of us. We were all similar ages, Lillian had just turned 9 a few months ago whilst Lindon would be turning nine in a few months time.

Today we decided to go into the city’s shopping district, the two of them had just received their allowances so it wasn’t a big surprise that they wanted to spend it.

“Rebel you still haven’t been into the city yet right?”

“No not yet”

“Well c’mon, there’s something I want you to see”

Lillian took me by the arm and started running towards a large stall which had a dozen variety of sweet treats.

“Lillian you come here every time that father takes us shopping, we still have a bunch left”

Lillian stuck her tongue out at her brother and then turned back to the stall and asked the woman running it for ‘two sticky ones’ and then the woman bagged the treats and handed them to Lillian, she thanked the lady end then she dug into the bad and pulled out a bright red ball of some sort, it was covered in a oozing purple substance.

“Take it”

She had a devious smile on her face.

“I don’t think …”

She ran at me and put the sweet in my mouth, I started chewing or I tried to anyway.

“ishs shtiking to my teef”

Lindon and Lillian burst out in a fit of uncontrolled laughter and i stared at them, dumbfounded.

“Ok come on it wasn’t that funny”

“You should’ve heard it papa, he sounded ridiculous”

Bellion let out a chuckle that sounded surprisingly genuine, but he was interrupted by a servant who came to deliver some information.

“Dinner is almost ready Lord Greenfeather, and the guest is expected to arrive soon”

“Thank you Lana”

In that very moment a man appeared at the table across from Bellion. I tried to dismiss my curiosity at how the man got there and instead focused on his features.

Even though he was sat down i could tell that he was freakishly tall, he appeared to be in his mid 30s but i felt that he was much older, his long blond hair was tied into a ponytail that reached to his mid back and his Red eyes shifted slightly sometimes they became a subtle yellowish colour, this immediately made me think of my own eyes which changed from blue to green and i couldn’t help but wonder why.

Bellion seemed to be unmoved by his sudden appearance in front of him and he immediately introduced the man, although i already knew who he was.

“Rebel, this is Telluric”

“It’s good to meet you Sir”

The man was eyeing me, observing my every move and then he turned to Bellion

“You said this boy was tested and it came out as an irregular, Yes?”

He said, with an air of curiosity.

“Yes, why is there something wrong?”

“You need a new aptitude crystal”

Telluric’s tone was almost as if he was speaking to a child who had made a mistake, not the type of tone that most would use when addressing someone as important as Bellion.

“This boy definitely has one, as I suspected once you told me the details of the incident”

I was about to ask what he meant but when I opened my mouth to speak the man disappeared and I heard a giggle from behind me, turning around I saw Telluric tickling Lillian and the girl was lost in a fit of laughter.

I felt a pang of sadness at the image.

Although I didn’t spend long with my parents I still sometimes wish I could’ve had a normal life in Sheol with them, I know that what’s done is done.

After Telluric had stopped tickling Lillian he went over to Lindon and ruffled his hair before giving him a hug, although this wasn’t as passionate as a tickling attack I could tell that he loved both of them equally. But with Bellion he was cold and strict.

Bellion raised one eyebrow in the man’s direction

“So, will you train the boy Telluric?”

“Of course not, why on earth would I do that”

I somehow knew that this would be his answer but it didn’t make it any easier to accept.

“Then do you know anyone like yourself that would? I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to draw out his full potential”

This plea sounded unnatural coming out of Bellion’s mouth.

“Come to think of it, the king was telling me about another one around his age who needed training too, something about him being awakened 8 years ago. I wasn’t really paying attention”

Telluric paused before continuing with

“Maybe they could train each other”

He paused again.

“Nope, thats a terrible idea”

I looked at Bellion questioningly and he just smiled and shrugged.

I was thinking about what Telluric had said and then he suddenly appeared right in front of me which made my next words come out in a stutter “C-can i help you sir?”

“Most likely not, but I definitely could help you.”

He turned to Bellion

“What have you taught him so far?”

“Just the basics of combat and i taught him how to tenverse”

“That’s all?”

Telluric’s words were more of a scoff

“As i said, I won’t be able to draw out his full potential”

Telluric rolled his eyes but Bellion ignored the gesture.

Telluric disappeared and i turned around to see him standing behind me.

“6 months”

I looked at Bellion and then at Telluric.

“What?”

“I’ll train you for 6 months, and depending on how you do I might become your actual tutor”
