(Ch. 11) Three Years

(Ch. 11) Three Years

Exhaustion creeped in as we finally made it home, I had to carry Lillian all the way and Lindon was still sluggish.

“Where have you three been?”

Davina burst through the door and rushed towards me and Lindon

“What happened? Are you okay?”

She looked down to Lillian who we had placed on the grass

“And what happened to her?”

***

Explaining the situation to Davina took almost as long as the journey back from the cave, she kept asking for details about this or that.

I left out the part about The Watcher and played off the fact of me not being knocked out as my immunity to poisons.

She took Lillian and rushed her to the medical unit in the manor, when she returned she practically dragged Lindon and I into the dining hall. The two of us sat in silence as Davina told Telluric and Bellion what had happened in the cave.

Bellion was practically glaring holes into Lindon.

“Lindon, I want you to apologise to your sister when she wakes up. This is all your fault for taking the two of them into the cave in the first place.”

“Yes father”

I looked at the boy, he was around my age but he barely ever acted like it and i think i was starting to understand why. His upbringing demands excellence and nothing less, he has to project the image of a dignified leader even when he is so young.

I was trying to build the courage to ask the question that had been on my mind since i returned but I couldn’t focus,I noticed Telluric kept on staring at me but he never said anything. It confused me greatly but he was always quite a strange man, so i didn’t think too much of it.

“Lord Bellion, it has come to my attention that my name is somewhat looked down upon and could cause problems with my continued support of the Greenfeather family.”

I paused for a moment to put my words together in my mind.

“It is for that reason that I would like to request for you to bestow the honour of being named a Greenfeather unto me.”

Davina sent me a warning glare, without even saying anything i heard her answer loud and clear; and I’m sure Bellion could see it too.

I had never thought about how powerful Davina was, her element being ice was practically all I knew about her, but being under her scrutiny made me realise she was insanely strong. She practically oozed a palpable pressure that caught the air in your lungs.

“Bellion you can’t seriously be thinking about it could you? This boy, even as powerful as he is, would tarnish the reputation of this great family”

Telluric disappeared from the room, then I suddenly appeared on the roof of the manor with him standing directly infront of me.

“What else happened, there’s something that you didn’t say to Bellion’s wife isn’t there.”

“Yes sir.”

“Well then, What is it?”

“I was visited by a man within the fog, he told me about the King wiping out my ancestors out of selfishness and fear. He’s also the one who told me to cover up my name.”

“We have to leave now, I’m sorry child but you’re going to have to miss Lindon’s birthday”

“What, Why?”

“Theres something I am urgently needed for in Terramalorum, I’m afraid i wont be able to return here for a while so you have come with me now.”

“Can I at least say goodbye to them?”

“Make it quick.”

“Thank you!”

Immediately i bolted to Lindons bedroom, when i rushed through the door he was lay down just about to doze off.

“Rebel? Is something wrong?”

“I know i said i would be leaving after your birthday but Telluric is saying we have to go now, I’m sorry Lindon i have to-“

“Don’t worry ill tell Lillian when she wakes up, just go.”

I bolted back to Telluric, he reached out and grabbed my forearm and then an instant later we were miles away from the manor.

“Prepare yourself boy, the nausea for a first time current hopper is immense.

It will take at least two hundred for us to reach all the way to Terramalorum so just be aware”

Yet again we sped through the world, the sensation of time being ripped away and space bending around me was just as he described.

My stomach churned and i vomited on the grass of the random field we had appeared in.

“Don’t worry you will grow used to it by the time we have done fifty, but please do try to avoid throwing up if possible”

“If possible”

He smiled and then the world blurred again, this time however he didn’t give me time to think before going. Over and over before i had time to think he would pull the fabric of the planet from under my feet with no warning until the nausea eventually subsided.

“Wow kid, im surprised it only took you twenty times to get used to it.”

“Well, I have always been pretty fast to adapt to things”

“Yeah..”

His word faded into the back of my mind, I was expecting him to continue but he never did. We just continued to blur through the world at an absurd pace.

Somewhere in Sempiterne:

“Lord Fellerax, we have received an interesting report from a team sent to mine the Erdos gems in the underwater cave”

“Interesting you say?”

Lord Fellerax seemed intrigued, usually he shows no interest in my reports.

“Yes sir, they reported finding secret ruins within the cave and finding strange children within the ruins”

“Oh that is interesting, is there more to report?”

I thought back to the report from the head of the mining team.

“Oh yes sir, there’s one more thing.

The team reported a strange fog filling the room before they all blacked out, and when they awoke the children had disappeared.”

“Sounds like he was there, but what interest would he have in some old scraps.

Unless.. Maybe its not the ruins that he was there for, in that case i think we need to look into the three children.”

“Would you like me to ask the mining team for descriptions and send track the children down sir?”

“Don’t bother, I’m going to send your brother”

“That’s not wise sir, he is already busy dealing with Neptune’s entourage that arrived yesterday to discuss relations.”

“Then go ahead and send a team, but if they cannot find the children i will send for your brother and make you take his place dealing with the water folk.”

“Yes sir”
