When Lord Greenfeather told me that he was going to train me until this mysterious person arrived, i didn’t think that he meant 13 hours of agony every day.
“Lord Greenfeather, i need a break”
I said around gasping breaths.
“Please, now that you are under my tutelage you should call me Bellion.
It will be tedious for you to use honourifics every time you address me during training”
“Okay Bellion, can you please let me have a break”
The man just smiled at me in a way that suggested he didn’t intend to stop any time soon.
“You have 6 more days before he arrives, i must make you as powerful as possible before then”
“You still haven’t told me who it is that i’m supposedly meeting with.”
“And i still won’t be telling you, now hurry up and get ready”
I took a sip of my drink and a deep breath before taking my place on the opposite side of the large training room.
We were deep beneath the Greenfeather manor, the cavernous room was lit with the same sparks that glittered in the sky above capital city.
I couldn’t help but wonder where these things originated from.
I focused back on the man in front of me, when i had first seen the man he had moved at blinding speed, disappearing and reappearing instantly 20 feet from where he originally stood, but now standing here preparing to fight him i could feel it, the power building in his legs and the confidence he held in himself.
A bell rung and Bellion immediately blurred from my vision, appearing to my right and then 30 feet in the air with a lightning bolt in hand, he released the bolt and it split into smaller fragments.
The first of the chunks to hit the ground created a crater the size of a titan squid; a large and rather tasty mollusk found in the southern most oceans.
The continuous rain of shards was bothersome to say the least and Bellion was just floating in the sky preparing more lighting bolts to either split into mini explosive fragments or combined for a single devastating blast, the worst part was not knowing which one he would choose.
The wave of fragments was finally over but without giving me any time to breathe Bellion launched another volley of shards, these ones were larger which meant they would have more firepower but since they were bigger it was easier to see them and dodge, considering thats all i could do.
It’s not good enough.
I needed to learn that strange movement technique and fast, I considered the way the power built in his legs before he used the move.
If you come across this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.
I knew what he did but not how to do it, i closed my eyes picturing the unnatural power that was contained within my body, I pictured all of that power being transferred to my legs and i felt a rush of excitement when i realised that it was working.
I could feel it.
My legs swelled up, the muscles bulging with the surge of power and when i jumped the world blurred around me and i appeared behind Bellion, he turned around and picked me up by the collar of my shirt.
“Did you forget that you cant fly?”
His tone was slightly mocking and at the same time slightly proud
“Nope, i just hoped that you would catch me”
I smiled at him and then he dropped me, I plummeted to the ground almost shattering my knees.
“Was that really necessary?”
“Nope, but i knew you would be fine”
“For the lord of a noble house you sure are rather silly at times”
“Well this silly noble is done for the day so go get some rest and i’ll have Lillian notify you when the servants finish preparing Dinner”
“Yes sir”
Bellion Greenfeather POV:
The boy walked clumsily towards the door and he sent a final glance back in my direction before leaving, I walked over to the spot where he had used the tenverse technique, judging by the size of the crater left from his jump I was right to consider him a powerful potential ally, or a terrifying potential enemy.
“What a little monster”
I said the words aloud, but no one was around to hear them, i was correct in my assumption that he would be needed.
Rebel POV:
The long walk up the steep stairs was made even longer due to my fatigue but despite myself I was still ecstatic, I had learned a new ability and it was one that I was eager to master but I knew that my legs were on the verge of collapse and so was I and so I decided to wait until tomorrow to continue practicing.

“-bel wake up, papa said its time to eat”
I shot up, startling the girl
“Sorry Lillian, what time is it?”
“Dinner time”
“Alright alright, lead the way”
The short journey from my room to the dining hall was all a blur, I was lost in thought and Lillian was rambling about something which i was only half listening to and responding with a simple ‘yeah’ or ‘huh’
Inside the lavish dining hall was Bellion, his wife Lindon and now me and Lillian.
Bellion was looking at me with an amused smile
“Glad to see that our training is leaving you so tired that you fall asleep right after, it means you’re giving it your all”
I nodded and took a seat besides Lindon
After i sat lindon looked at me with a sorrowful expression
“Father told me what happened and about how your powers work, I’m sorry about how i treated you”
“Don’t worry about it, i agree with what you said anyway”
“No hard feelings?”
“Sure”
The rest of dinner proceeded exactly how it normally does, with everyone eating the perfectly cooked food in silence, after we had all finished though Lindon and Lillian waved for me to follow them and i did as they said.
They led me out into the courtyard and then we used a small stud coming off of the wall to climb over and hopped down into the bushes.
We followed a meandering path, this led us to a grassy ledge overlooking a breathtaking scene.
An iridescent river shining with all the brightness of a radiant purple star, the surrounding trees had bright pink leaves.
Large Deer-like animals roamed around eating the white grass and other strangely coloured foliage.
"What is this place?"
"Lillian and I found it one day after we snuck out of the manor, we often come here together when father and mother are off on business trips”
“Its pretty right Rebel”
“Very”
The scene truly was beautiful, the contrast of all the colours; Unnatural for the surrounding area, it managed to steal my breath away.
