The band of bronze

A dream: You find yourself standing in a field, just grass and trees as far as the eye can see, the sun is flying overhead, from horizon to horizon as if the days were passing in seconds, light and dark and light and dark again, you can see grass growing and the leaves on the tree budding out. You can see the seasons changing steadily. In front of you is a pillar cut from stone, sitting perched on top of the stone pillar of it is a bronze band, a single loop of metal with carving on it, too small to see from where you stand, as the days pass the pillar suddenly crumbles and the band falls off of it and rolls into the mud there it sits as the days pass, it begins to discolor with time, then a sapling begins to grow, no doubt fallen from one of the trees surrounding you, as it grows one of the limbs of this tiny sapling catches the band and it begins to pull it out of the mud as the sapling grows, the sapling grows into a small tree just a couple feet tall the band now firmly entangled in its branches, and the dream ends
