A dream:
You find yourself in a thick forest, trees packed so closely together that their branches intertwine and block out all but the smallest amounts of light. The ground it covered in thick piles of leaves and fronds, and just above that underbrush seems to push in from every direction forming a sort of green blanket over everything. There, in a tree just above you is an elf, with light skin and long pointed ears sticking out through her hair, which is tied behind her head in a ponytail. She is very nearly still as she slowly scans the forest below. Something catches her eye or maybe some other sense as she suddenly freezes. She remains still for several moments, then slowly pulls the bow from her back and readies and arrow, she doesn't knock it yet but is ready for whatever it is that has put her in this state of alert.
You see in the distance some movement in the brush, there is almost no sounds but there is slow steady movement up ahead. Just above the tops of the brush you can see two writhing limbs, each with some kind of flattened protrusion on it. One side of the flat surface is covered in some kind of spine or quill. The two almost tentacle looking structures appear to be almost black in color. They wiggle and writhe back and forth as if part of a single being. The elf above you doesn't move but instead remains still and continues to watch. Whatever it is is getting closer, slower plodding along through the brush, it is silent or nearly so as it moves. A few more seconds and it is much closer, you see the elf shift the bow to only one hand and start to wave its hands to cast a spell, first on herself then start immediately to cast another.
The image of a small furry creature appears on the ground, some kind of rabbit or something similar appears out of nowhere and begins to silently move around in circles, sniffing the air, and ducking its head down into the long grasses and vines that snake the ground. It doesn't appear to be making any sound either but it is hardly moving its position much but instead seems to just be changing stances as if carefully looking around or searching the area before starting to move.
The tentacles suddenly stop their swaying and tuck down into the ground cover, you can see the brush still being gently pushed out of the way by whatever is coming, now seemingly aware of this small rabbit. Then suddenly a creature rushes out from the brush, a blur of blue-black fur. It is headed straight towards the newly appeared rabbit creature. The thing has the face and body of a large wild cat that you might expect to find in a forest such as this, except it has six legs, two front, two middle, two back legs. As it bounds toward the rabbit, you can see the same tentacles from before are in fact a part of this monstrous creature, they seem to attach to the creature just behind the first set of shoulder blades on the creatures back. Further back it has the same long tail as you would expect to find on a panther, or similar large cat. As it runs up you can see its form seems to change places as it runs first appearing a few feet off to the left and then a few feet off to the right of the straight line between where you saw it burst from the undergrowth towards its prey. Its not as if it is winding back in forth as it is running but instead it seems to simply disappear from one place in its run and appear in another. Its form seeming to appear at random along the path as it runs. The elf stays perfectly still in the tree above watching the creatures movement with intensity. The large powerful form of the creature comes baring down hard and it pounces taking a jump of more than ten feet to come landing on the rabbit. The flurry of black-blue fur rolls up into a heap and you see the small rabbit bolt in a direction away from the creature. The thing's head pops up and its head quickly jerks around as its eyes that you can see now seem to glow slightly lock with the small form running away. It should have caught it though, something that large should have easily caught something like that. It seemingly in a single motion uncurls itself and finds its feet, all six of them at once. It is only a few powerful strides and it is once again on top of the thing it is pursuing, you can see as the large powerful jaws of the creature clamp down on the small helpless form trying to run away, the small rabbit vanishes. Just gone, not slowly shifting as if turning invisible but just gone as if it had never been there in the first place. The large cat once again springs to its feet and starts to dart its head in every direction trying to catch sight of the thing again, even its ears perk up and start to fan in one direction then another trying to pick up the sounds of something running away. The creatures head then looks back to the ground where it had last pounced and tilts its head one way then the other studying the ground with some great intensity.

You look up and the elf woman is gone, no sign of her remains, the branches where she was aren't even shaking, she seemingly has taken advantage of the sounds of the creature's pursuit and the creature's subsequent confusion to make her own get away.
The large cat quickly abandons its search and disappears into the brush.
