Volume 1 Side Story part 2 - The Rat, The Wolf, And The Draconian Incarnations of James

-Southern Telum Continent. Evening. 3RD POV-

Some 5000 Kilometers NorthEast of Zhuryoh City was the biggest Ancient Lake Forest in the world, and further east than that, were the bottom of the Wing Peaks--a mountain range shaped as its name implies. At the outskirts between the Ancient Lake Forest and the foot of the Wing Peaks, Giant Rats of different colors were entering a large cave in a line. The tens of magical rodents marched for hundreds of meters deeper into the mountain where many tunnels converged in a Cavern around a hundred meters wide with many stalagmites and stalactites. The 30-meter tall ceiling glowing with bioluminescent organisms illuminated faintly the Beasts gathering and a 6-meter tall black Rat standing on a natural platform 2-meters above ground.

Behind this female Alpha Rat were three smaller male rodents standing on two legs as well, supervising the formations below in preparations for an upcoming territorial battle. However, this wasn't a normal magical beast either. This female rodent leading a hundred warriors was a Soul piece bound to reincarnate in this forest and had gone through the same vicious rebirth cycles as Grey. They were both Shards of the same Soul that was now in this world. But unlike Grey who was second and lived longer, the rodent didn't have any allies from previous lives, and spent many more years as a common animal before appearing in this world.

The first Soul piece experienced many years of hardships and loneliness as a male, wishing for a family, wishing for companionship but was always at the bottom of the hierarchy. However, it all changed in one rebirth. He, wasn't a 'he' anymore, and despite the despairing new experience as a female at first, it was a natural outcome to find success in life as a mother. So much so that after her short life ended, this individual wished to reborn as a female again, and again, and again...until she became a magical beast and her life was extended beyond a mere rat.

The Rank 3 female stood proudly watching her offsprings and followers from conquered territories. It has been two hundred years since the gender switch, and she was completely used to this life now.

But why was she preparing to conquer other territories? The same thing as Grey happened to her at a higher rank. After recalling many past lives, she remembered the powerful being that offered a deal in exchange for the reason for being in this world and information about the other Soul pieces. It was useless to her at the time, but now she knew that danger would come someday again and she needed to prepare without attracting any attention. Although being overly cautious was second nature to her by now.

"We're ready, Kaiyala." One of her mates called out.

"Then go forth! Bring us one victory closer to our goal!" The female Alpha empowered.

""KYOUU!"" The magical rodents squeaked and marched quietly into a horizontal tunnel with two Alpha males in the lead.

"Are you sure about staying so unguarded? I might not be able to protect you from an ambush." A golden Alpha asked worriedly.

"It's alright, Kukio," Kaiyala assured and wrapped her tail around his body before pulling him closer. "You aren't here to protect me from outside enemies. We haven't been hostile to them in a long time, so they won't see this attack coming." She said looking at the pair of beady eyes peeking from the tunnels in the distance. "I am weak Kukio... Very weak. I have always been weak. I have always been hiding, cowering in caves and dependant on you males." The black furred creature monologued doing gestures with her forelegs.

"You guide us with Wisdom and kindness - not strength, my mate." The smaller male declared and snuggled on her.

"Kukio... My wisdom is too limited to lead you all to the top of the food chain." Kaiyala asserted and lifted her head as if he gaze penetrated the miles of stone and rock to see the perilous forest to the west. "We need outside knowledge..." She affirmed thinking of self-preservation.

"Y-you can't leave! It's too dangerous outside. Even for a High-rank beast..." The Rank 5 Earthern Rat blurted with dread.

"Oh, Kukio, I know that better than you." The female said and closed her eyes gently while recalling the past. "Haven't I experienced all sorts of deaths imaginable...?" She mumbled and closed her eyes with a mental sigh. "We'll have to use common rodents and expand a network throughout the world with several leaders that don't link directly to me." The Low-talented instructed.

"It's a start. But don't you worry... Even if you fall behind in Rank, we'll protect you. We'll get a Mana Vein eventually and help you more." He encouraged.

"Hmn. I'll be counting on you all." She said and went into silence staring into the tunnel where noise of fighting was getting louder.

-2000 Km South of the Wing Peaks-

The clouds move quickly in the darkened skies displaying a myriad of different stars shining down on the South-Eastern side of Telum continent between two mountain ranges 6000 Km North-East of Zhuryoh City. South of the Wing Peaks, a lone grey wolf reaching 3 meter tall sneaked in human lands carefully towards the second biggest river on this continent. Up ahead was the only place relatively safe to cross the treacherous river to continue his trek along the coast where there was less food and large beasts wouldn't snack on him again. Although he was a Rank 4 magical beast now, the humans from nearby towns had already captured him as a pet, killed for his pelt or hunted for meat by them.

Evidently, this wasn't a normal wolf. He had died 38 times already since he found himself in this strange world and could remember almost everything in each life, but he would always be reborn in the same wolf pack as if his Soul was bound to them. However, for many years he was merely a common wolf, a disposable Beta, and it took hundreds of years with several lifetimes before his Soul matured enough to become a magical beast. Although awakening Low Light Affinity hardly improved his position in the pack and increased his survival chances tremendously, death still found him and he had to rank up all over again. That's why he prefers being called Grey. He simply recalled too many names.

But why leave the protection of his pack at all? Besides the fact that he found no reason to stay that is... It happened after he became a magical wolf. Grey started recalling past lives more clearly the higher his magic density was, and by Rank 3, he recalled an Alpha mate from the first lifetime. Something that eluded him in this world. But the information he received before reincarnation also came back to him... Being a simple animal confronted by entities beyond his comprehension, he immediately accepted a deal to trap the white she-wolf's Soul in this world along with his and knowing where to find her. So, Grey embarked on the perilous journey to the Artic where he hopes to encounter the white wolf Tribes.

Now, leaving the woods in the dead of night, the grey wolf sniffed the distinct river smells ahead and his blood ran cold. But he pushed his body forward to the shores.

*Swoooohhh~! Shruaasshh...* The warm winds blow from the ocean to his left producing waves that go against the current.

This was the hardest part of the journey. The survival chances of swimming across 35 Km of deep waters depended on luck. He could scare away small fish with light magic, but he had already drowned or died to large beasts he didn't see coming. That was the worst part.

"Wait for me...mate. I'll find you. No matter how long it takes!" Grey spoke with determination looking into the distance and descended the shore slope.

*Brurush! Fuash! Fuash!* The grey wolf entered the water and started paddling calmly hoping the beasts lurking within the darkened waters wouldn't notice him.

...

The grey Wolf continued swimming the dark waters slowly hoping not to attract attention as he gets pushed towards the ocean, but in the end, it was an uneventful night, and by morning, he had reached the southern shores.

"HA-HUFF! HA-HUFF!" The wet canine hyperventilated and staggered walking out of the water feeling immense relief.

*Tuash! Tuash! Swiss--grash!* The grey wolf left paw marks on the sand as he climbs the river banks when two long tentacles shoot from the water and wrapped around his hind legs.

"HYAP!?" He uttered alarmed perking his ears and looked behind when his body was yanked.

*Krrrcchh!!* The canine claws carve the sand as his body was pulled towards the river while the 10-meter octopus look-alike shoots more tentacles out of the water.

"GRRR! A mere animal dares to attack me?" Grey snarled both angered and relieved that he had time to retaliate.

The Rank 4 magical beast probed the creature attacking him without bothering with the tentacles wrapping his body and found the head quickly before overfeeding his Light Elementals. *Fwooom!* An arm-thick shiny beam of light originated right above the Octopus head underwater and pierced its flesh before reaching the brain a second later. *BOOM! Bwuarsh! Thud! Thud!* The trapped heated gases exploded sending pieces of meat flying into the air and the creature's limbs fell limp.

"Huff! Huff! My...my precious Mana..." Grey complained and expanded his Spirit to recover the lost resources. "But this thing is young... There are probably bigger ones near..." He reviewed looking at the attacker and the water faintly illuminated by dawn.

The canine ripped a few tentacles off the creature and pulled them in-land where he ate them leisurely. He then continued his march bordering the large plains of tall grass and the river banks. On either side, there would be dangerous predators lurking. Here it was safer. But was still attacked here before. Maybe the bones of his previous body were still around up ahead, but he would hope to avoid such unpleasant sight.

-Northern Arundo Continent. Morning. 3RD POV-

The Ancient Tear. An old mountain range located North of Spineback formed when Arundo continent was next to the northern Telum landmass millions of years ago and acquired the peculiar shape that earned its name after separating. These worn rocky mountains have been the home to a particular race of short humanoids for thousands of years, and their culture ran as deep as the Mine tunnels seeking richness to better their society. However, that was all in the past now.

The great Dwarven Metropolis built by inventors and entrepreneurs over many years between tall mountains on the upper part close to the Harbor 1000 Km to the Northwest, fell in but a single day 312 years ago. There are many stories on how or why it happened, but the fact remains that a pair of Pre-Divine Earth Dragons were responsible for the destruction of the once considered Jewel of modern times. Now, a large metallic City stand in its place, rebuilt from the rubble, and the natives did make up the majority of residents, but the Humans were the ones in charge.

South of the rusty City walls, a blond-haired human with golden eyes and tanned skin in his thirties approached the metal gates dragged a large bag leaving a blood trail on the grass. His thick leader pants riddled with holes and tears flap in the morning breeze while the torso was completely and palm-sized scales tied on a rope hanged from a Greatsword held over his shoulder.

The long-haired man joined the line of people and beasts on one side of a paved road by the 3rd quarter of the morning. A few minutes later, he reached the city entrance where the smells of rust, oil, and blood blew out, confirming he was finally home. The two 10-meter wide steel gates were guarded by 2 Rank 6 Auramancer warriors and 4 Archers on the steel towers on each side.

"Next!" An armored Werewolf holding a note board called out on the right with a deep hoarse voice.

A hooded person in black robes stepped in front of the furry guard and looked up at his towering muscular figure.

"I-I live here." Stuttered the youth in his twenties.

Hmm... A Rank 3 idiot that couldn't look more suspicious... The Rank 7 Guard retorted wagging his tail slowly and flipped the pictures sent by Governors of other Cities. He fits the characteristics of a burglar wanted in 2 other towns and reeks of human blood... Meh, it's probably him. He recognized a drawn picture and asserted closing the pamphlet.

"Yer prepared for mosquitoes... Enter!" The wolf commented and nodded at the smaller person.

"Y-yes..." The youngster uttered and sped up going through the gates.

Hm? Mosquitoes? Poor sucker doesn't know... The blond man realized and extended his Spirit. This World had creatures similar to giant Mosquitoes. Although they laid Eggs inside living creatures rather than in the Water.

The 4 Auramancer Archers hiding in the steel towers heard the cue and pointed their Ballistas before pulling the trigger. *Pe-shun! Pe-shun! Shiak! Chak! Charakk!* Four steel arrows flew a short distance and pierced the black clothes in the torso while everyone watched from the line.

"GUaAH--!" The hooded man screamed perplexed and gripped the arrows lodging deeply in his body. *Thumpf!* The magician fell on the ground and crawled a short distance while blood spills out dyeing his robes and making puddles on the stony ground. "Ack! Uuuk... Uhk! Huuuhh..." He spasmed on the ground spewing mouthfuls of blood for a minute before exhaling one last time while extending a hand.

The guards all around smirked pleasantly and reloaded their weapons while the Werewolf at the gate crosses out the picture. A Mana wave indicating the young man's death appeared from his body while High-Rank Spirits surround it. The common creatures who can't learn magic just felt uncomfortable as the mana wave passed through the bodies, but magicians rejoiced after collecting a portion of it effortlessly. The only one who bothered with the death of a youngster was an old man that pulled the corpse to a corner to strip it of all the valuables.

If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it.

"Next!" The Werewolf called out once again and looked ahead.

*Krrrcchh!* The half-naked man pulled the meter-thick sack while the guards gave him an appraising look.

"Kek! Mosquitoes will get you fer sure." The black werewolf threatened and narrowed his golden eyes staring at the half-naked person.

"If Mosquitoes bite, I'll bury alive the one who calls them!" The Rank 7 human countered narrowing his eyes back.

The two glare at each other in a standoff for a moment in silence before the werewolf smirked.

"...GAHAHA!" The Beastified folk burst out laughing opening his large hands with sharps claws glinting sharply.

"Fleabag..." The long-haired man spoke before leaving a smirk on his face. "But why didn't you enslaved that darkness magician, Landa? I heard Miners are running out..." He pointed out observing the blood train dying the doorway.

"Nah... T'was justa low-life punk that wuda killed his Masta..."

"Whatever. I'm thankful for the Mana either way." The man said and shrugged. I'm almost dry... "Oy, can I get in or not?" He asked impatiently and pointed at the line behind with a thumb.

"Ye ye..." The werewolf grumbled and beckoned him closer. "Did you bring Dragon's eggs, Rayan?" He interrogated after being unable to make out the smells.

In these parts, it was a Taboo bringing dragon eggs into the city. The humans claimed it was an accident how an unknown individual made it into the city with a large Egg which turned out to be stolen from high-ranking earth dragons. The two Pre-Divine parents caused massive Earthquakes, lava to erupt from the ground and meteor-like rocks rain from the sky like a hellish nightmare no one expected to befall the fine day. By the time the high-ranking Dawrfs managed to subdue the two scaly beasts, the great Metropolis was reduced to rubble, tens of thousands died, and many powerful individuals perished in but a few hours.

"No. I ate those already... I need to hurry to the Inn to preserve the Dragon meat in the sack." He replied recalling the big omelet.

"Alrite. I'll crash in yer place fer lunch." The black werewolf declared and nodded.

"Bring some beer. I worked hard for this..." Rayan demanded and grabbed his large sack.

"Alrite. But, hey, yer not planning to parade, right? Such a haul gets people killed." The Beastified folk pointed out watching the dangling materials.

"Hm... I'll take a back alley then." The blond mand heeded the advise and recalled the most isolated roads.

...

The blond-haired man pulled his sack through the gate and turned right on the first line of houses leaving the main road. After walking for 5 blocks of different sizes, he turned left and pulled the bloody sack through a 3-meter wide stone paved alley with 3-meter tall stone walls. Walking north for half a kilometer, the half-nude person stopped.

"Hm?" Rayan uttered and strained his eyes looking at a group near a hundred meters away. What do we have here?

Three armed warriors were talking under the shade of a tree from the back yard on the right. Rayan found suspicious that three grown men would be here doing nothing and not in an Inn where it was fun, but who was he to judge the preferences of other people?

However, once the blond man was 5 meters away, the three Rank 6 Auramancers separated from the wall and blocked his path.

"Yo, brother! Would you mind sharing those scales with us?" A black-haired lean Auramancer with two daggers hanging on his waist spoke up with a sly smile. We are stronger than magicians, but I rather not fight this bastard...

*Krch--!* Rayan stopped pulling the sack making the pack of scales tied to the greatsword on his shoulder dangle back and forth.

This is what that furball meant, eh? Rayan asserted and glanced around while sending his magic into the ground to probe.

The resistance when probing through materials increases the denser they are, and the lower the magic density which results in mana and Spirit loss, but Magicians can probe efficiently through their known Elements with the help of Elementals. For the blond man who was Low-Rank 7, probing the immediate surrounding stone and dirt was an easy task. It just took a few seconds.

Three warriors in front, one archer on the roof to the left and the ground being pressed on the right behind the wall is probably a magician hiding... The Earth user determined and took a step forward before exhaling deeply. "Huuu... Kill your own Dragon, trash!"

The expression of the three men changed and held their weapons by the hilt threatening to unsheath them with hardened faces.

"Don't get cocky, Magician!" A brown haired Auramancer wearing spike globes barked from his right. I'll bash you into a pulp like the last one!

"Yeah! Don't risk your life over some scales." A green haired Auramancer holding a short 2-handed Axe on the left reasoned. He should be drained of mana after fighting Dragons.

"Tch!" The blond-haired man clicked his tongue and threw them a scorning glare. That's true, but I can't give in to trash. I won't! Other trash would look down on me. He asserted, lowering his weapon.

*Krcchhh--Clack! Clack! Klarak!* The pack of scales slid on the blade and fell on the ground. *Klarsh!* The earth magician gripped the Greatsword confronting the three.

"Have it your way!" The assassin snapped and unsheathed his daggers dripping a liquid from the blades before lowering his body.

The three readied their weapons taking combat stances while a Rank 5 Aura Archer prepared to assist from a rooftop 10 meters away. The Mid-Rank 6 Water Magician approached the wall from the other side and prepared magic near the blond-haired person, but Rayan was a higher rank and blocked him from getting too close.

*Whoosh!* The Axeman leaped while swinging his weapon and the assassin in black clothes dashed with a low posture holding a Dagger pointing forward as the other was inverted for defense.

Rayan started his own preparations and kicked the ground barefoot while controlling his body with elementals to compensate for the gap in strength. *Krrchh! Swiss!* He swung to the left while accelerating the Greatsword with magic and intercepted the single-bladed Axe. *KLANG!* The steel clashed with steel producing a shockwave and sending sparks flying from the dulling blades screeching against the wall. *KrRrrkk!*

The Axeman may be stronger than magicians, but he lost momentum in the air and was forced to land. Meanwhile, the Earth magician noticed the Assassin stabbing at his right flank, and coated his left foot in the stone below before twisting his body and sent a kick behind with it. *KA-WHAMM!* The stone boot kicked the incoming Dagger and continued towards the black-haired man's stomach. *Ting! BWUANG!* "GA--!" The Assassin was sent flying towards the warrior wearing metal gloves rushing on his left and slammed onto him. *Twuamp!* "URK!" The two were caught by surprise and crashed onto the wall. *KLARSH! BAM!* ""GUAH!"" They sounded spewing the air in their lungs and slid down the wall as the broken blade of a dagger bounces on the ground. *Klarash! Tiling!*

The Axeman recovered his stance and pulled back his weapon before kicking with his left leg. "HA!" *BAM!* The foot connected with the abdomen of the blond man and sent him flying.

"GAK!" Rayan spews mouthfuls of air and saliva but didn't let go of his sword. *Thomp! Krrcccchh!* "Omph!" The Earth magician landed on the stone road with his back and slid getting the skin on his back scraped until his body stopped 3 meters. "Arrrghh!"

The black-haired archer wearing leather on the roof saw the opportunity and let loose his arrows in succession. *Pe-chun! Pe-chun!* The arrows zipped through the air towards the upside-down vulnerable man. *Chiak! Chiak! Clack!* The three steel heads pierced half-a centimeter into the brown skin and bounced off, then fell on the side. He had hardened his skin with magic. Earth users can control their own flesh, bones, and blood with sufficient magic control and knowledge, but it can waste Mana. He had to take a diet rich on metals, and visit a healer from time to time, but it was worth it.

"Arrgh!" Rayan groaned and clutched the wounds on his chest.

"Impossible!" The archer blurted with a dumbfounded expression. "Those arrows should have pierced you through!"

"Bloody fool!" Rayan snapped at the attacker while getting up. But he forgot to keep the Water user at bay while concentrating on another process.

The blue-haired Magician slipped his Magic up close and commanded his elementals in a hurry. *Fwuash!* Water appeared seemingly out of nowhere and enveloped Rayan's legs up to the knees before freezing. *Shriiieekk!* "ACK!" The transparent liquid solidified while sticking to the stone and pinned down the high-Rank magician causing him a slight Frostbite. "Kuk!" He grunted and pushed back the intruding magic near his body before looking in front.

*Whoosh!* The trio had recovered and was rushing at the blond-haired man again with a combined assault while the Archer approached from the roofs. *Tap Tap Tamp!* The archer stopped and pulled his steel bow to the limit before releasing the string. *Pe-chun! Swiss~!* The sharp steel arrow flew in a fraction of a second towards Rayan's left temple who was distracted turning a layer of the stone under the ice into sand.

The shot was dangerously close when the head started moving back, but he had anticipated this sneak attack and timed the moment to dodge with his probe. However, he was still too slow. *Chiak!* "Argh!" The arrow gauged a wound on the earth magician's forehead before continuing towards the floor. *Ting Tang Clarack!* The arrow bounced off the stone floor and wall, breaking into pieces.

The Axeman raised his weapon dashing and brought it down in a wide swing. *Swoosh!* Rayan pulled his sword in the axe's trajectory with the tip resting on the ground. *KAANG!* ""KUK!!"" The two grunted as the steel axe sank into the blade blocking its path and sent chips flying again while pushing the Earth user away. *Bwosh! Krrcccchh!* "Arrgh!" Rayan clenched his teeth enduring the skin on his butt being scraped as his pants wear away from the friction and used magic to break free of the icy prison. *Bwuarsh!*

"Tch!" The Water Magician clicked his tongue annoyed and mobilized a large portion of his magic.

*Whoop!* The gauntlet fighter leaped and twisted his body before throwing a punch with the right fist while in the air. "HAAA!"

Rayan opened his eyes wide at the fist approaching his face and rolled on his right as the metal hunk passed by his body. *BAANG!* The thick steel gauntlet impacted the stone sinking the floor with cracks spreading away like a spider-web and creating a shockwave blowing up dust. The blond-haired man retracted his left leg and kicked behind while controlling his bones with magic. *PWUAM!*

"GA--!" The melee fighter flew back, slamming onto the incoming axeman. *PA-KLARSH!!* ""Ugh!"" The two sounded and rolled away entangled with their armors. *Klracchh! Klang!* The axe dropped and slid on the stone away from them.

"Ow! My leg..." Rayan complained from the strain and got up in a hurry.

The Archer aimed from the rooftop near the fallen warriors and let loose another steel arrow smeared with poison. *Pe-chun! Swiss~!* The arrow reached Rayan's abdomen in a fraction of a second and didn't give him enough time to dodge. *Chiak!* "KEK!" The steed arrowhead penetrated the earth magician's flesh on the right side and cut through the shallow skin leaving a gaping wound. *Tang! Clarack!*

"Die already, damn it!" The ranger cursed and fired another arrow up close. *Krrkk--! Pe-chun!*

"Ugh... Bastard..." Rayan called out staggering and held up the sword with the left hand in the trajectory.

*Ting! Klack!* The arrow bounced off the blade and landed.

The blond-haired man raised the right arm towards the window on the left and shot magic inside the 2-story house where the ranger was standing. "You'll pay for that!" He declared and commanded magic to turn a section of the walls along the support pillars to dust. *Krack! Kruk!* The walls started cracking and tilting, but it wasn't fast enough. The two mele warriors recovered already and were about to dash while the assassin was waiting for an opening to strike. Rayan used more of his precious Mana and created stone in the gaps to push the house apart.

""What?"" The three warriors and the archer uttered looking at the tall stone wall crumbling while the residents inside became alarmed. ""What's happening? What's going on? Kyaaah!!""

"This crazy maniac! There are people in there!"

"Just trash..." The Earth user affirmed with a grin and fed the Elementals in one go most of his remaining mana. "HAAA!!"" He yelled pulling his hand and jumped back.

"Stop him!" The black-haired man wearing leather ordered and put a face-mask on.

*Whoosh!!!* The two armored warriors dashed ahead to strike him down while the Ranger ran away to another roof and the assassin ran away from the crumbling building. *KruruRURU--THOOM!* The 2-story house came down on top of the two mele fighters burying them in the rubble along the residents and crushed the opposite wall where the water magician hid. ""AARGHH!!"" *Prak! Brak! Prashhh... Bwuash!* A thick dust cloud blew outwards and upwards obscuring the view in the alley as the cries of children and women are heard from the distance. The water magician got out of the rubble unscathed while the ranger was hanging from a roof.

"Ugh... This madman! Koff! Koff!" The blue-haired man damned coming out of the settling dust cloud.

"That scum! Gnnnhh..." The archer cursed and climbed down to search for his bow within the rubble.

The Assasin waited for the opportunity and slipped around the rubble in silence before dashing with the only dagger he had left. *Swoosh!* He slashed at Rayan's exposed right flank where the arrow wound was. *Schriak!* The blade sank into the flesh and passed through at a depth of the width of its blade as the black-haired man continue behind.

"GAH!" Rayan cried out and endured the pain gritting his teeth.

*Krch!* The Assasin stomped the ground behind the earth magician, stopping his advance and did a sharp turn to stab at the bare back. *Klarsh!* The blond-haired man gripped the hilt of his sword with both hands again before spinning his body doing a wide swing. *SwooOSH!* The blade moved horizontally counterclockwise towards his back as the dagger tip approached.

"Eh--?" The black-haired man noticed the sharp edge approaching from the corner of his eyes and tilted his head to the right.

But he was too slow. *ShrriAAK!* The jagged blade entered the white skin on the left side of the neck and sliced all the way through to the other side. *Swooish!* The red blade came out leaving a trail of blood and splashed gore on the wall while the head spun in the air for a moment before falling down. *THUD! Thud!* The severed body parts dropped gushing blood as the head rolls on the ground with its eyes blinking. *Zoom!* A mana wave confirmed the Soul leaving the dimension and alerted those present of the fallen comrade. ""...!!!""

"Ugh... Kohoff!" The Earth magician staggered dizzy and in pain as the poisons started to take effect. He isolated the toxic substances with magic as much as possible, but he wasn't a water magician, and it was bound to take effect soon.

This madman... Die already! The Water magician grumbled hatefully on the other side of the wall and fed the elementals with his eyes closed. *Bloob! Bloop!* He made as many water lances as his magic control allowed before commanding the elementals to freeze the water. *Shrrriiiieeeg!*

"Huh?" Rayan sounded making a surprised face and looked up. Crap!

*Swiss~ Swiss~ Swiss~* The sky 8 meters above the blond man was covered in icicles speeding up with their descent while focusing on his position. Rayan paled, and could only think of blocking with the sword's blade above his head while controlling his skin. *Kriash Ka-shriak! Ka-shriak!* Many ice spikes crashed onto the steel and fell down while others found their way to the exposed skin. *Chiak! Shriiak! Shriak!* The icicles pierced the blond man on the shoulders, stomach and legs. "ARGH!" He grunted being shaken by the attacks and lowered his sword when it ended. *Kank!* "Huff! Huff! Huff!"

"I'm not done yet!" The blue-haired man declared and used the rest of his magic to create another batch of icicles. *Bloob! Bloop!* He made dozens of water lances floating in the sky before accelerating them downwards.

"Ugh..." The blond man groaned, watching the icy spikes descend upon him.
