v5c8 Beast Despair

-Night. Erina's POV-

In one of the coldest days of the season, halfway to midnight, an emergency howl reached me up north, and anxiously rushed to the river lair where Nefiru slumbers for three days. I crossed the stone bridge, and arrived at the entrance where three beasts are waiting with their fur puffed up.

"Elder! It's bad! Really bad!" Lightwater 6 reported.

"Mother..." Little Earth called wagging his tail.

I licked my son as greeting and walked over him while feeling my fur stand up as well, then heard ominous noise coming from inside the sealed structure.

"The situation?" I demanded.

"The crazy Dragon became insane!" Raging wind announced from atop of the stone dome.

"GRR!" I growled at her annoyed.

"HYEK!" She whined submitting.

"As Dumb Wind says, Realm Dragon is completely MAD!" Lightwater announced.

"WHAT?!" I barked.

My fears came true--AGAIN! So unlucky... I affirmed.

"It's Raging Wind!--EEEP!" The wind wolf protested and stopped under my glare.

*Brrururu...* I dismissed the stone wall and vapor poured out along with blinding light into the night. *Swhoooshh! Brrzzt! Ryaakshh! Pakshy! Trakssh!* A storm rages inside the lair with thunder illuminating the yowling Dragon in the middle.

"GWROOOOOOOOOAAA!... WRUUUUUUUUU!... GRAAAAAAAHHH...!" Nefiru wails in grief, sorrow, and anger in a cycle while disregarding his life.

"Noisy... I'll block the sound." The she-wolf offered.

"...!! Wa-what...?! WHYYYY...?! This is not--I-I don't understand...what happened to my dragon?" I stare baffled at the insane beast.

"He lost control of Elementals in rage." Little Earth revealed.

"NO! NO! NO!" I panicked rushing inside.

"WAIT, ELDER!!" Lightwater called.

"I'm going to beat him unconscious!" I declared inspecting his body.

Good. Good! Most of his elementals are outside creating this storm, and the insides hardly affected--so far... I examined.

"We already tried! It made it WORSE!" The healer announced.

*Kreshh!* I halted in front of the screaming Dragon. *BRRRZZT! PKSHAA! CHRRIAK!* Lightning bolts land everywhere on my body making me stiff.

GUH! Why, why N-Nefiru-OWW, why-yy??! I'm right--here...can't you--ACK! See me? First, your body--GRAA!--and now your mind--OUGH broke too? I questioned the sanity staring at his bleeding eyes.

"...I NEED--to do som-mething!" I affirmed.

"Mother! He should run out of Magic soon." Little Earth pointed out.

AHH! It's true... I confirmed and turned around with an angry look.

I walked out of the lair and glared at Lightwater on my left who was watching over the dragon.

"H O W  did THAT haaappen?" I snarled with a chilling tone questioning.

The beast shuddered and backed away with the tail between his legs while trembling.

"I-I-I don't know! The dragon just--woke up mind-less, and tried to-to eat me!" The healer recounts showing his injuries.

What!? His body moved on pure instinct? But...what happened to his mind? I asserted doubtful and released pressure on the wolfen.

"Hyeee... Elder can be scary...I care for the dragon too... Please don't be sullen." The blue wolf protested.

"Huff! Huff!" I panted to calm down and licked the worried beast assuring.

"Mother. It took the three of us to stop him, and Wind Mate gained time with her magic. She's happy about that--" Midas explained.

"That's pathetic." I reproved looking up.

"Wuuk!" The she-wolf sounded saddened.

"But he soon woke up weeping, and mumbling unresponsive, then suddenly became enraged..." Lightware described.

"I had to keep him in there until you came." Midas redacted.

Hmm... So, his mind returned at that point? Ohhh! Of course! He re-experienced suffering from other lives! I surmised recalling the words of the little human.

"The Dragon must despairing because he lost to humans!" Raging wind said atop of the lair.

"HRUFF! Does he look that simple to you?" I snorted and questioned.

"But-but it's humiliating for beasts..." She countered.

"Whining Wind didn't see his condition. He couldn't fight anymore...it must have been frustrating." Lightwater assumed.

"No. I'm afraid the problem is more complicated than that." I denied. "What do you think, son?" I asked the earthen wolf looking into the lair through the sound barrier.

"Uh... I think it's something frustrating and humiliating that he discovered. Something terrible..." He determined.

"That's even better than my conclusion, and at the same time-...worrisome." I praised and licked the beast under me.

"Arff... We didn't break him--" The wind user said relieved.

"GRR!" I snarled.

"HYEP!" She shrieked lowering her body.

"So, how do we fix him? Should we bring his human companion?" Lightwater proposed.

Grrr... Am I not good enough? I don't want to look like a failure either... He should depend on me-ME! I thought and answered.

"Not yet. Let me see if I can talk to him first." I declared.

He's hardly conscious, so magic exhaustion might put him to sleep. I assumed.

"Mother. He's almost out of Mana." Little Earth informed. "What a waste..." He commented.

Grah! I know that's my fault, but I didn't know it would have an adverse effect when Nefiru told me his body needed Mana all the time... I lamented.

*Brrzzt! Ssshhh! Swoomp!-Thump!* The rampaging Magic stops and Nefiru's body slumped down unconscious.

"GO" I commanded the healer.

*Shrash! Shrash!* Lightwater sprinted inside and started inspecting.

"...The damage is not that great." Lightwater reported.

"Good. This time, I'm staying here." I declared.

I laid down left of the dragon and pushed his body to my belly while the healer does his job. Little wind jumped down and dried some of the water inside the lair.

"Errand Wind, go fetch some meat for the dragon," I ordered.

"WUK! Not the Elder too!" The young beast grumbled on her way out.

"There's no fish in the trap. Let's go hunt before Mother feed us to the Dragon..." Midas declared heading south.

"We should move our lair away..." The she-wolf remarked following behind.

With healers around, there's no need to worry about losing body parts... I mused and turned to the healer.

"Lightware 6. Next time...you let the dragon chew on your legs, and hope he enjoys them." I admonished.

"...Yes, Elder..." He acknowledged dropping the ears.

-Nefiru's POV-

I woke up to a moist sensation in my mouth with a familiar yet different flavor that stirs nostalgic feelings within me.

"Uuhhnghh--Mmm...Mmm--? CHLUUP!" I stop sucking and look around confused.

The room was illuminated with light magic from the wolf on my left blocking the exit of the lair, and my tail was submerged in the southern water section.

"OOH! You've come to!" The golden wolf rejoiced. *Sclahhhak!* She licked my head.

I confirmed low magic reserves and willed Elementals to my throat.

"Uhh... Erina, why am I sucking on your breasts?" I asked in growls.

"Well... You were chewing my belly, and the food was taking longer to arrive, so I had Lightwater help me stimulate lactation on the two upper ones which you found satisfying and stopped biting." Erina recounted.

"I'm not a mamal!--Chhluurp!" I retorted and continued.

"But you keep sucking..." Erina said and kept licking my neck slowly.

"Been--Gulp! A long time--Schurlp...hungry too." I explained.

"Huhu... I feel like a mother again." Erina mused. "Drink up. You haven't eaten in three days." She offered.

Erina...laughed...? I noticed surprised.

"...Not for the lack of trying." Lightwater remarked calling my attention. "You attacked me like a mindless and vicious animal..." He accused rubbing his forelegs.

Hm? I, did? I questioned with a stare.

"Uh-um... It seems your head was affected, and the beast instincts are now taking over when you sleep--" The healer revealed.

*Churlp--* I halted realizing the implications.

"GRRRR! FUCK!" I cursed in English.

"It's-it's okay...at least you didn't use magic like a monster...almost...sort of...maybe." The beast almost comforted.

"Worry not, my Dragon. You'll go back to normal eventually. Just be careful sleeping near weak creatures to avoid tragedy...sleep with me." Erina announced. "Now... Want to tell me what's wrong? You were screaming like a mad beast." She requested.

"Hahhh... I don't want to think about it now or I'll go back to screaming..." I turned her down and went back to sucking and sulking.

"We are here for you. We can howl together!" The healer sympathized.

I ignored the wolves trying to cheer me and continue filling my stomach when two other beasts arrived.

"I didn't know Mother gave birth to a Dragon," Midas remarked walking in.

"What were you two pups doing! It's Midnight already! I should've sent common beasts for the task." The mother scolded.

"Wuu.... We were chasing an intruder..." He muttered in low growls.

"Wuoh? Crazy Dragon is less crazy?" The wind wolf blurted.

"GRR!" Erina snarled.

"HYEP!" The she-wolf cowered behind Midas.

"Air Head, He just recovered..." The healer admonished.

"It's alright...I'm just depressed and lost all will to live," I said leaning on the golden she-wolf. "Haaaahh..." I deeply sighed.

"...He looks as if a beast killed most of his pack." She insinuated.

"You can sulk all you want, but you WILL recover, and become stronger. I know this." Erina declared with conviction.

"Hey, dragon. This will make you feel better." Midas announced and pulled a wire net.

"Shaaahh! Shaaahh!" A black and green snake sounded struggling inside.

Did you know this story is from Royal Road? Read the official version for free and support the author.

"We found it nearby and captured it alive since you like to make your prey suffer. Be grateful." The green wolf announced.

Ouch... That hurts on many levels. I affirmed bothered. Still, for a talented dual element Rank 4 serpent to venture this deep in wolf territory... I realized and looked at Erina.

"Yes, I noticed too," Erina said, aware of my gaze.

...We didn't even make eye contact. This wolf...sometimes she's like a child and others admirable. I asserted.

""What? What?"" The other wolves questioned.

"It's probably scouting for prey or perhaps related to a similar snake that I killed..." I revealed getting up.

Oh? My body is neatly mended... I inspected the artificial scales covering holes.

""Really?"" They questioned.

"...You wolves need to distrust more." I pointed out.

"Ah, but we live simple lives without a need to lie, or form complex interactions like humans, and the only lasting possessions we have, is each other." Erina announced.

"Fair enou--GRAAAAOO!" I stretched and noticed the collar was removed.

I moved through the hairy beasts towards the exit.

"I removed the fangs, and it's low on Mana, so you can swallow it alive," Midas informed in misunderstanding.

"Thanks, but I don't feel like it now. And flying on a full stomach is bad anyway. Do keep it here until I'm back though." I instructed.

"Where are you going?!" Erina asked getting up.

"I'm going to bring my companion." I declared walking outside.

*Shruushhhh...* The river flows noisily outside.

*HUP!* I jumped onto the dome. *Thump! Krsh! Krsh!* I landed and climbed to the top.

I looked up at the abundant starlight feeling melancholic and opened my wings extending up to a span of fifteen meters.

"I bet a small game that he falls in the river--HYEK!" The wind wolf taunted before shrieking.

*BLARSHH!* She splashed in the river and got dragged off by the current.

"Mother..." Midas protested and headed for the shore.

Okay then...how did that go again? I recalled and flapped.

*Fwooh-whosh! FWOOH-WHOSH!* I rhythmically beat while positioning the tail to counter the forces.

My body raises by pushing down the fully tensed Wings, and slightly lowers when they change orientation to move up drawing an 8-shape pattern. The forelegs are crossed in front while the hind legs retracted closer to the body, but even diverting attention to relevant muscles, they are still a bother in the air. The different air currents, wind gusts, and swirls make it hard to stabilize my body while gaining altitude, but positioning against the wind eased the labor.

Flying is hard work...tiring...need exercise. I review my first real flight. I'll stop climbing here since based on my Google Earth experience, I'm probably over a kilometer high already. I asserted keeping my body steady to admire the view with light magic. This is unbelievable...it's everything I've dreamed of--kind of. Flying with telekinesis is cooler, but this is pretty amazing! I compared.

"I'M FUCKING FLYING! WHOO-HOO!!" I rejoiced doing maneuvers.

*BWOOHOOSHHH! WHIIZZZ...!* I lost control and plummeted with the wings folded wrongly.

Greeeeeaaat...I'm falling now. Look at the ground approach faster and faster...I'll splatter for sure. The fear of heights kinda mean shit when one can fly huh? I admired.

I moved the tail and oriented my body correctly, then slowly opened the wings.

*Whiiiiiizzz!-ZUKU!* The membranes spring open and collect air quickly before slowing my descend abruptly.

Argh! Fuck! Fuck! That hurts... I complain feeling my wings throbbing. Ok, decelerate slower next time. I noted and went up again.

I flew south while gaining control over my flight capabilities, and by the Volcano, I was already flying faster than my normal running speed.

Hmm... Flying feels...nostalgic after unlocking all my memories. Just how many times did I learn flying, Magic and had children--no good, stop it! Stop it... I ceased my reverie and focused on the volcano to my left. Heh~ I'm almost a mile up the ground and it's around one-third of the way to the top...though I'm not at the base... I appreciated.

The lights from human settlements quickly became visible while feelings of nostalgia and dreary wash over me as I approach the Ragefire estate. I identified Shaila's room and aimed for the eastern corner of the tall building without being detected.

Steaaadyyy... Like a leaf in the wind...haha... I quoted while gliding down with small flaps.

*Thud!* I softly landed and folded my wings.

Nice! I don't suck at landings. I rated. "Huff! Huff!" I panted calming down from the tiring trip.

I bend over the edge and extended my head to the window showing a girl peacefully sleeping under white sheets.

Hmm... So cute... I admired sending a stream of magic inside. Wake up, sleeping beauty. I prepared and activated lightning on her butt.

"...!! HYAAA~~!" The girl screamed while squirming on the bed.

"Marvelous scream. Very girly." I appraised.

"Unnngh--huhh? Ne-Nefi?!!" Shaila questioned half asleep while looking around until her eyes laid on me. "YOU'RE ALRIGHT!" She left the bed and rushed to the window dressed in a silky nightgown.

*Giii-takan!* The window opens and Shaila leans outside.

"Chuu~" She cutely kissed somewhere on my lips.

I attempted to lick her face and my tongue was bitten.

"Ow...don't eat my tongue." I protested jokingly.

"Mwuah!" Shaila let go and hugged my snout tightly. "You can't imagine how worried I was! But what are you--" She nagged.

"No time for sweet talk. Let's go." I ordered bringing my right paw to the window.

"Yawn~ Sounds serious..." The girl said climbing out.

*Tok! Tok!* Someone knocked on the door. "Shaila, is everything alright?" Liana called.

"We'll be back later." I informed grabbing Shaila by her thin waist.

"Owowow! Be gentler! You gonna break me in half!" Shaila complained holding onto my forearm.

"Nefiru?! Wait, damn it!" Liana protested trying to open the door.

I noticed a Rank 7 probe, and a wolf looking at me from the firewood pile.

Oh? Wolf guards? Not bad. I reviewed and spoke to the beast.

"Stay here," I commanded.

I brought Shaila to my neck and opened my wings.

"Nefi, your spikes are hurting me down there...I don't have riding clothes on and it's cold." Shaila informed moving to my back.

I brought my paw to the neck and broke off the spikes. *Crack! Crack!*

"...I guess I'm riding on your neck." She said moving there.

"Hold on tight like your life depends on it--because it does." I declared and took off.

*WHOSH! WOOSHH!* I flew straight up.

"What do you--uuAAAAHH!" The girl screamed while latching on.

"Open your eyes," I ordered flying slowly at a mile high.

"Fre-freezing..." Shaila uttered before using magic for warmth. "EEEK! HI-Hiiiigh!" She shrieked latching even stronger. "You jerk! I thought you were gliding down..." The girl complained.

I sped up with the shining girl latching on my neck while her thin clothes flapping in the cold wind offer little protection. My lair became visible in the distance when the sky started to brighten and slowed down to a casual glide while maintaining altitude with periodic flaps.

"It's a little scary, but this view is fantastic... Makes one feel above others, exalted, important..." The white-haired girl reviewed.

...I feel nostalgia and sadness though. But no more crying... I compared and decided to prank.

"Shaila--Huff! You are too heavy!" I pretended to fall.

"Waaaah!? I'm not fat!" She objected.

"Quick, throw your clothes away!" I instructed.

"But--...Nefiru, if you want to see me naked, just ask." She realized my tease.

"Hmph! You see me naked all the time." I countered.

"Uh-huh... By the way, I did steal clothes from the store, but were torn..." She announced.

"Really? What?" I asked wondering when.

"...A-adult underwear." The girl revealed embarrassed.

"Phuahah!" I poked fun.

"Mu! It was my first..." She pouted.

"Haha--'Your first'--Haha." I teased further.

"...Argh! JERK! You know what I mean!" The light magician complained.

"Haha~ Yeah. You did well." I praised as she kept quiet.

"Nefi... Your laughter sounds sad and forced." Shaila called me out.

"..." I stay silent.

"You brought me here to have another serious talk, right?" She asked.

"...Yeah... Very serious." I replied.

"Hah... I thought so." Shaila sighed. "Well, I wanted to confess something too..." She said trailing off.

"Ah, but Erina is waiting with other wolves," I informed.

"Oh, that's fine. They are not people..." She consented.

"Okay, you human-hater, here we are," I announced.

"That's your lair? Wow! It's huge! Even the river goes around it... I want to swim there..." The girl appraised looking down.

I softly glided down feeling the wind on my wings to stabilize my body and targeted the platform at the entrance.

*Thump!* I landed and folded my wings before lowing my body.

"Do I have to clean you?" I looked back asking.

"I didn't leak! Hmpf!" The girl fumed getting down. "...My arms and legs are sore though." She informed wobbling as we head into the lair.

Inside the dome, Erina was laying down at the back with the tail by the edge of the water section while the three other wolves were lined up on the left.

"Hey, Erina~" Shaila greeted.

"Mhn. You look well, Little one." The golden she-wolf nodded saying.

I walk over the white-haired girl and reach Erina before lying down against her belly with my head up north.

"Ah! Greetings, Lightwater, Wind one, and Earth Alpha." Shaila growled in front of the large canines.

The three wolves were caught off guard and remained staring at the shining girl in surprise for a moment, then sat down.

"...Greetings, little one." Midas saluted.

"I'm the dragon's personal healer!" Lightwater said proudly.

"This delicious-looking thing is your companion?" Raging Wind said maliciously.

"GRRNGH... Don't get any funny ideas." I snarled.

"It's okay..." Shaila assured me and walked toward the she-wolf. "You must be Alpha of pack Nefi ate. I'm sorry. I know the feeling of that loss..." She sympathized.

"Hey, Dragon, what's she on about?" The green wolf asked me.

"You are speaking to a Wolf that was the Dragon's mate in the past, then reborn as a human and can remember her past," Erina revealed before me.

"That's amazing!" Lightwater praised wagging his tail.

"Mother knew..." Midas realized.

"...It was wrong of me to think she was a normal human." Raging Wind said disturbed.

"Then...Realm Dragon...?" The golden wolf asked.

"Mgn. He's been a Rodent, Wolf, Human, and Dragon." The golden she-wolf replied.

"Freak! Abomination!..." The wind wolf cringed away insulting.

...Annoying as always. I glared thinking.

"I'm envious...you two experienced so much..." The healer announced.

"However, the past can be terrifying..." I declared.

"And frustrating--can't change it." Shaila supplemented.

"Enough to rampage over some recollections?" Midas commented.

"But also interesting! You can remember things and places without going there. That's how the dragon know so much and you learned our language, right Little one?" The healer probed.

"Uh... Yes... But call me Shimmer. It was my wolf name." Shaila announced.

""Really?"" Lightwater and I questioned.

"Yes. I was a Light user. The tribe name was my surname, but I don't remember." She reaffirmed.

"Where did Shimmer live? What are other tribes like?" The blue wolf curiously asked.

...I don't need to ask, it seems. I noticed.

"Umm... I lived in the Frozen Land to the south. My tribe was-...ruthless. We had to fight over dens, and only the talented offsprings of Alphas lived while the rest starved to death." She narrated.

Ah, that place? I call to mind.

The Frozen Land, a triangle around the size of Texas formed between two mountain ranges near the south pole that keep it in perpetual cold and dark for most of the year.

"That's... Harsh..." The blue-white wolf reviewed.

"And you wolves complain of this bountiful land." I admonished.

"Hrmm... Thinking back...the Divine did say this land was worth fighting for. But like you said, we need new blood in the tribe." Erina agreed.

"So, did Shimmer meet that guy?" I asked Shaila in her language.

"...I knew you would ask me that." Shaila said in Stilus walking up to me.

I lifted my left foreleg, then turned it over for the girl to sit on my paw, and be close to my left eye when having the private conversation.

"Your wolf-self found me, and convinced me to leave my tribe." The girl announced.

"I see--Wait, how do you know it was him?" I inquired narrowing my eye.

"He felt familiar--not like us, but it was enough to trust him and mate days later." The wolf girl recounts.

"You Bitch!" I derided.

"JERK!" Shaila yelled and flashed a light in my eye. "You're just jealous! This is why I had trouble telling you..." She rebuked.

"Owww!" I groaned blinking. "Sorry..." I admitted recovering my vision. "Was his Dingus bigger than mine though?" I asked comparison.

*Plakf!* Shaila face-palmed. "What is wrong with you!!? How can you ask a little girl that?" She admonished.

"Hmph! You probably remember the whole thing!" I countered.

"Geh!" The girl uttered turning away. "Ma-maybe thicker...?" She stuttered showing embarrassment.

"Guh!" I sounded defeated.

"What a bizarre conversation... And why care for the size if you don't use it?" Erina retorted disappointedly.

"Aaanywaaaay, he explained our past, and we decided to form a pack after my belly was round. However, one day, near the date of giving birth, he did not return... I tracked Gray Mate and found...Ugh! What was left of a wolf...my own pack had eaten Him! They took him from me, Nefi. They--uk!" She narrated with tears gleaming in her eyes and a lump in the throat.

"They took your happiness, your hope, your future..." I finished the sentence.

"Yeah..." The girl affirmed with a feeble voice.

"But that isn't everything, is it?" The golden she-wolf questioned.

"No... I... I-I gave birth, but the nearest pack would have killed them, and I couldn't feed the young on my own. I tried, I really did--Sniff!! They were big and strong pups, but-but I reached my limit--Hic! Hai Ade dem--Wuhuhhh... I-I-I ate-...I ate my children! WuaHAAHH!!" Shaila revealed sniveling on my snout before bawling.

Guh! I want to embrace her! I thought in frustration.

The little girl burdened by her terrible past cried on my cheek as her tears mixed with mine and trickled onto the stone floor until her face was red. Meanwhile, Erina translated what had transpired to the clueless wolves who keep silent watching our interactions.

"...Hic! I-I was af-raid you would thi-nk less of me..." She sobbed weakly.

"Yes, you look a whopping 3% less impressive now," I said sarcastically.

"Uguhh... Fu honesty ish terrible sometimes..." The girl muttered depressed.

I cleaned the girl and enveloped her with my Spirit in support.

"I, too, found myself in a similar situation before. Little one, you may not recall, but Shimmer could only die with her pups or choose to live and eat them." Erina comforted.

"But it hurts! I remember...too well!! I can't forgive myself...being raped in this life must be punishment!" Shaila declared.

"Dumb wolfie. Quit being so hard on yourself. It's all in the distant past." I admonished. "What matters is to shine brightly in the future." I consoled.

"Un..." She nodded. "But I won't forgive my pack...I want revenge!" The wolf girl demanded.

"What if you already did? "I announced.

"With Light affinity? I was already over a century old and not even high rank while Gray Mate only had medium Light talent, so..." She denied.

"Is that your most recent memory in this world?" I asked the shiny girl.

"Uh... I think so, yes." She replied.

"What else do you remember?" I probed.

"Walking through the eternal blizzard, searching for the meeting place that Gray Mate told me in case he died. Apparently, he was going to reborn with all memories, so our meeting couldn't be pleasant either." Shaila elaborated with a troubled expression.

"I see... Soul pieces have such advantage." I affirmed. "However, Shaila, that was a thousand years ago." I conjectured.

"WHA--!? WHAT?! How do you know? Did I end up with you because you ate his Soul? TELL ME!!" She accused close to my eye.

"If I did, I would probably be High Light affinity, though it's just a theory." I announced.

"Oh..." The girl sounded and lowered her head. "I just want to know what happened..." She muttered in a feeble voice.

"I know." I softly said and lowered my eyelid.

"WAIT! I'm confused. Isn't that just a past life?" The golden she-wolf questioned.

"Yes, but each Lifetime was ripped from the original Soul, and the six or seven of us got tossed into this world to fight each other," I explained in growls.

"...WUOH??" Erina uttered even more confused while tilting her large head.

I could almost see the question marks on the wolves as they process the information.

"...Unthinkable..." The golden she-wolf said staring.

"Hruff! The Elder doesn't understand either?" The wind wolf snorted.

"It's not that... Only Deities could do something like that..." Erina surmised.

"The weirdness--The weirdness increased!" The green wolf dramatized covering her snout with the paws.

"S-scary...my hide feels cold..." The blue wolf expressed concern with his hackles raised.

"Dragon, you are one complicated creature." Midas asserted being composed.

"Nefi, they won't handle more..." Shaila pleaded.

I exchanged gaze with Erina and she nodded consenting.

"But-but why such beings make you fight--yourself?" The healer asked.

"To force our evolution. Seven creatures that can grow at the same time would make the total progress far greater than any other being in this Realm...possibly acquiring all affinities." I replied in growls. "And it's working, but it is something very cruel...I only realized this now." I reviewed.

"Nefi... What do you mean 'It's working'?" The white-haired girl inquired touching my eyelid.

"Hah... I unlocked all memories recently...including an old repressed dream which provided clues of something terrifying." I declared.

"I knew it! That's why you lost control of Elementals in rage." Midas revealed catching Shaila's attention.

"Whaaaat?!" She said switching her gaze between the wolf and me.

"He tried to eat me." The healer complained.

"Enough! It's your fault for tasting better." I censored in growls and stared at Shaila. "I thought-...that as the one with the main soul, I had the right to consume other Soul pieces, and never thought other personalities could be more dominant than me... I was too conceited! I never had a chance against the Draconian from the third life..." I described.

"Gasp!" The girl stopped breathing. "No...no! I don't like what you are about to tell me..." She said anxiously.

"I didn't just died in the past...I was killed, consumed, and let live just to consume my Divine Soul again, over and over and over and OVER AND OVEEER! FOR A FUCKING THOUSAND YEARS!! I'VE LOST EVERYTHING IN SEVERAL LIFETIMES! I'M JUST LIVESTOCK FOR THAT BASTARD TO GET STRONGER!! GRAAAGHH!!" I explained the source of my despair loudly which reverberated inside the stone lair.
