"Flashback"

Within a fathomlessly vast space, two beings could be seen conversing. An opaque featureless body floated feebly in-front of a giant orb. The orb was a dozen or so metres in the air releasing vibrant waves of white light dying the surrounding in its own image.

"So what your saying is... Is that your God?"

The opaque humanoid form spoke, not hiding the doubt in its voice. In response a robotic voice indued with authority and power emanated from the surrounding.

"Actually, I am the collective consciousness formed from all sapient life….."

Whilst the clearly superior being monologued its origin, it seemed to see, even though it had no eyes, that it had been ignored by the minuscule being before it, no doubt the vast information going over its pea sized brain.

"Sigh! Yes, I'm what you humans would define as a God."

Seeing that it had the far weaker being's attention it continued.

"I will present you with two options. The first option is that I send you to the divine consciousness formed from your world Gaia. There your deeds will calculated and the verdict of your destination being either Heaven or Hell delivered.

Though, having a quick glimpse of your history, I can see that you have only committed acts of debauchery, and have done little which may otherwise be considered as good deeds. Like say giving to the poor or helping the needy. I can safely assure you that should you follow this route the gates of Hell will happily great you.

Your second option is the offer of reincarnation, retaining your memories in a new life under certain conditions. Now then. Choose!"

"Ehm. Well first I would like to compliment you on how beautiful your glow is. It's like a fresh morning breeze. I am but a mere humble subject of yours and would graciously except the second option if you will oh Mighty one".

"Hmm. Try as you might human, but flattery will not get you far. As I said I'm a divine consciousness, and being so I am beyond mere flattery. Though the ability of your race to change faces is truly admirable."

The godly being retorted with dripping mockery.

"Well first I need to explain the certain issues your species has brought about. Which you better pay attention to for I will not repeat myself.

You see consciousness is something far stronger than you can ever imagine. If something is believed and shared within a large amount of consciousness a 'miracle' could happen cementing that belief. In simple terms when a human imagines a new world and shares it with other humans like an Anime, Game or Movie the other humans share in the imaginations and if the collective imagination is fuelled by enough consciousness a 'miracle' would occur bringing the imagined world to life.

You can consider me as the main divine consciousness or the main God. Each world however will produce a subunit of myself. It will produce its own god which intern joins the divine consciousness represented by me forever allowing the multitude of Universes to grow.

This occurs across the universe by many sapient life forms allowing for many parallel universes and worlds to exist. However, you Human's despite being one of the youngest species are by far the most imaginative and that has led to deviant worlds forming.

The so-called fanfics and spin offs of existing worlds when believed by many change the timeline of that word. The changing time line requires a far greater energy whilst a rinse and repeat of a story just with some Overpowered MC no longer produces consciousness forcing the original worlds consciousness to be shared with the many deviant timelines and placing a strain on the divine consciousness.

If there were only one or two deviant worlds there would be no issue but the current spin of timelines created by Humans have exceeded manageable levels and now need to be terminated. I offer you reincarnation into a new world with your memories and the opportunity to grow stronger, and in return you will kill the consciousness holding the spin of worlds together. Which would restore perfect balance. As all things should be"

Hearing the Godly being stop talking the Human took a chance to ask a few questions. Though this time he formulated his response having seen the flattery having no affect.

"I understand what you're saying but I do have a few questions. First, and in all due respect. If you're a Godly being why don't you just fix the issue and prevent the deviant timelines forming in the first place. Or simply remove the deviant worlds yourself. And most importantly. Why me!?"

"It seems you can ask intelligent questions. I was beginning to doubt you being a sapient creature".

"The answer to your question is quite simple. I am the divine consciousness for all multiverses. But I can only observe sapient species consciousness. I cannot in any way interact with the material world.

If I did I would in-fact break the prefect balance which allows consciousness to be moulded into new worlds destroying the very system I am a part of.

The only reason I can interact with you is because you are no longer amongst the living. You are no longer alive and so your consciousness or soul became free. Which I then pulled to this realm of mine.

As to why I chose you.

Do not hold any notion that you are special. In fact, this entire conversation is not from myself but one of my billion counterparts. You simply posses the traits that would be valuable in completing the task, such as your lack of empathy and a very self-centred personality.

After-all, the consciousness you will eliminate will also be reincarnations. Consciousness pulled from your world into one of the many timelines.

To revert the timelines, you will have to take lives. As for you being chosen. Ha. I have not chosen just you. There are a multitude of deviant's world with more forming by the day. You are just one of the many chosen from your species. And thus, easily replaceable"

A slight grimacing noise could be heard from the fall smaller featureless form.

"Tsck. No need for the low blows your godliness. Fine I accept, it beats hell any day. But if those other reincarnates are in spinoff worlds they would have been given special abilities or even wishes. How do I face of against that."

"Good choice and your concerns are not needed. I will also bestow upon you or your consciousness that is here, certain abilities to aide in the task. And before you ask there will be no wishes and neither a system. First we will select your world and then you can choose three perks from a list I will provide. Choose wisely"

"Alright. Which world am I going to be in and how do I access the other worlds to eliminate the reincarnations"

"The world will be chosen randomly from a list of the fiction worlds you are familiar with and at certain points depending on you progress in that world you will be transported away. Though time will continue when you are in another"

Having heard this the opaque form quickly interjected with a questioning tone.

"Fictional worlds? Wouldn't that create more of the so-called deviant worlds. I though you didn't want that?"

In response it could fell the larger mass almost grin at him, and yet the surface remained un altered.

"Smarter than I expected. Let's just say that you to will be the main consciousness changing the timeline in your world. And if something where to happen to you. Well?"

The opaque humanoid form spoke.

"So, if I die the world timeline will be reset no longer being a deviant. You're betting on me dying after having taken out a few worlds".

The giant sphere responded.

"Indeed. Your life will be in your own hands. Should you survive, you can continue to grow stronger. But should you die. Let's just say I suffer no losses either way".

Just as the godly being finished speaking a giant roulette consisting of a multitude of colours appeared and began to spin.

"Now then, no more questions"

The giant roulette spun far faster than the humanoid figure could see. Then as if all the force vanished the wheel stopped and the evident pointer in the top right-hand corner denounced the name of the new world.

"It seems your new world is going to be soul land. Now you will receive a list. Choose 3 perks"

Before the human could voice up any concerns a floating translucent screen emerged from nowhere, containing a list of possible perks and check marks next to them.

"How do I choose from the list. As you know I have no hands"

The human asked meekly. It was evident he had grown tired from this exchange. Though given the circumstance a few more days alive wouldn't hurt. Sure, the godly being could be lying about the heaven or hell thing, but could he risk it?

He wasn't powerful enough to question it and not important enough for the ball to conspire against.

"Use you mind".

With that final mark the ball glowed dimly and before fading away taking the light with it.

The surroundings instantly turned darker with the only illuminations being the translucent screen.

Sighing the opaque human form attempted to use his mind and a curser appeared on the translucent screen. He moved the curser successfully and began to examine the possibilities.

There was no turning back now!
