6 months had quickly passed, with each week netting Xander another drop of the deep red liquid he referred to as blood.
The vitality contained in each drop was tantalising and as they began to accumulate, its power truly came to light. Both likely and figuratively, as the pool of blood shone a bright red.
In total, after taking out his expenditure, Xander had accumulated 65 drops in the small pool. In actuality, he should have possessed 78 drops, but the bulk of that he had given to the egg to try to expedite its birth. Xander had also used some in his hunt.
Looking at the golden chalice within his mind space, Xander observed the ethereal motion in which another drop of blood mysteriously appeared. It was Sunday again and, as always, Sunday was fun day, especially when getting another drop of mystical blood.
Looking upon the pool of 66 drops, Xander carefully removed one and with practiced ease sent it to the egg. The egg, as always, greedily absorbed the life blood.
Xander had been getting an increased reaction from the egg, and he knew that a few more drops should provide it the vitality and energy to be born. Not to mention the egg had already grown far larger.
Now why would Xander expedite the egg's birth? Was he eager to once again go to another world and risk his life to kill another reincarnator?
Both of theses weren't the case. Firstly, he didn't know if spirit rings where the cause of his travel and this would prove that.
But more importantly, it had been the egg itself!
Despite successfully bringing it into his mind space and the egg being somewhat connected to the grail. Xander observed that the egg or the soul within began to dissipate. It began to die!
Xander didn't know why this was the case, as it was being given spirit energy and supported by the Grail! But perhaps as it was no longer connected to a physical body and thus not truly alive and it wasn't fully connected to Xander either, through a spirit ring.
The soul was beginning to dissipate as no construct was keeping it together.
Using the holy blood seemed to relieve the issue to some degree, and Xander believed the only reason the eggs' incomplete soul hadn't already dissipated was due to the blood he had provided so far. Because of this, Xander was rushing the process of its birth.
Xander would have preferred waiting until the grail was full of holy blood before going to another world, as that meant an extra life, but if he wanted this soul, he had no choice but to up his schedule.
Sure, he could do nothing and live out his days in this world and as such forgo his growth and the egg. But he didn't believe it was that simple.
Just to live in this world with all the monsters, both human and beasts, was one thing, after all he would need strength to protect himself! But more than that, he doubted that alien god like entity, the so-called collective conciousness, would leave the conditions of their agreement so easily exploitable.
Sure, he could be overthinking things. But if he was a godlike entity and needed people to fight battles on the material plane, and having to create deviant worlds in order to facilitate their growths. Well, wouldn't he leave some way to kill the individual, and in doing so, removing that world as well?
Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.
It was a pretty obvious thing to do and Xander didn't want to go about testing his theory right. He hoped he would find a way to figure it out, but for that, he would need power!
Though he did theorize such a thing would have to be connected to his conscious or soul, as that was the only thing the entity had control over, but Xander hadn't been able to find what such a thing would actually be.
Hence, keeping the egg and the no doubt powerful being inside alive would be a smart thing to do.
As Xander added the drop of blood, nothing immediately happened. A few minutes passed before the egg began to hum and swirl with energy. A deep oppressive aura spread from the egg into Xander's mind space.
The energy was small, but highly concentrated, making Xander even more elated as to what was going to appear.
With a sudden and earth-shaking rupture, the egg split open, revealing a newborn dragon within.
This infant Dragon was unlike any other, its scales gleaming with a radiant, golden sheen. Each scale was a testament to the sacred energy that coursed through the creature's veins, no doubt the result of the sephiroth grail and the blood Xander had given to it.
The baby dragon's eyes shimmered with a deep, ancient wisdom, and as it let out its first roars. They echoed with the resonance of an untold history. The surroundings seemed to hum with an energy that was both primordial and divine. The dragon was the size of a horse, roughly 5 metres long and 2.5 meters tall. It had a long neck, whip-like tail, horns, sharp teeth, and five pairs of legs.
'Well I'll be! It really was a Krayt dragon!'
What was a krayt dragon?
A Krayt Dragon was a legendary and iconic creature in the Star Wars universe. These colossal reptilian beasts were native to the desert planet Tatooine and were a symbol of power, danger, and the unforgiving nature of the harsh desert environment.
They were split into 2 categories:
The canyon krayt dragon, which was more commonly referred to as 'krayt dragon' but was smaller of the two.
The greater krayt, which was a rarer, larger species of krayt dragon, known for its tremendous size and continual growth over time. Creatures of near legendary status, greater krayt dragons had ten legs, and measured at least 100 meters from snout to tail tip. Greater krayt dragons attacked with their massive jaws or whip-like spike-tail with many using their corrosive poison as well.
Looking at the Dragon and the apparent 10 legs, it seemed Xander had truly lucked out.
Xander didn't waste any time and approached the Dragon, which rather humourless wobbly moved over to him as well. It didn't take long for the two to meet, and Xander tentatively trained a hand, petting the scaly beast.
The beast didn't shy away and was almost eager to interact with Xander. This was definitely not krayt dragon behaviour. No doubt the domesticating proved useful.
As Xander felt the tough reoccurring rock like scales, he encompassed his mental energy around the dragon connecting with this soul.
The dragon didn't resist and eagerly accepted the bond. Xander felt a strain on his mental energy, a result of another spirit soul, but, nevertheless, welcomed his new comrade.
Around Xander two spirit rings appeared. The first one was a deep yellow, signifying it was a later stage 100-year-old spirit ring. However, now above this spirit ring appeared a small white spirit ring signifying a ten-year-old spirit beast.
Though the spirit energy it released was anything but what should be associated with a white spirit ring.
This was no doubt due to the power the Greater Krayt dragon possessed. After all, even in spirit cultivation, lineage was highly valued with younger but purer blood lined beasts being able to defeat those with greater spirit cultivation.
All in all, Xander was very elated and spent the next few minutes patting his new spirit soul, letting his excitement be known through the connection they shared.
It seemed he had gained another useful shiel.. ehm comrade!
However, the ever-incessant noise once gained reared its ugly head.
Exiting his mind space, Xander jumped off the tree he had mediated on. He was surrounded by the vibrant green and lushes' landscapes of a forest.
Having had the past 6 months to plan. He believed this would be the best way to make up the excuse of a new spirit ring. That being Xander coincidently finding a spirit beast when wondering the forest near the school.
After studying his surroundings, Xander quickly took off in the direction of the academy, eager to meet the Dean once again.
'Isn't that what teachers are for' Xander chuckled, with another devious ploy in mind.
