Chapter 19: Dawn of a new day

Tezira woke up first the next morning. Not that she wanted to get up however. Her eyes slowly drifted open to see her two new friends on both sides of her, using her as a way to divide the bed between them and to sandwich her in pure soft and warmth. Everyone was still fairly well dressed and she couldn’t remember drinking heavily, so she felt pretty sure nothing bad had happened the night before.

However when she tried to get up she felt her body refuse to move at all. The warm man holding her close and the now warm frog on the other side of her had heated up her cold blooded body in ways she had only dreamed of before. Her tiny form was desperate for both the heat and love so it refused to do anything to risk losing either. The more she laid there the less she wanted to move either.

Finally she was relaxing with others that were not demanding anything from her in return. Just two nice people treating her like just another normal kobold. As she looked between the two of them the more she wanted to make sure this happened again, and the more she wanted even more to happen on top of that. She closed her eyes and just relaxed a bit more, bathing her tired body in the warmth and affection for as long as she could.

Finally Nelva woke next, groaning and giving Jack a small pat on the head before sitting up. Seeing the kobold stirring a bit she gave her a pat on the head as well before slipping out of bed. “Have anything to cook?” Nelva asked as she stretched out her long, thin body.

She nodded carefully not wanting to wake up the warm man still holding on to her. “I make sure this place is stocked with water, eggs, and cured meats.” She said pointing towards the stairs. “In the cupboard is the meat, in the enchanted icebox should be the eggs.”

The frog nodded and slipped out the door and down the stairs to fix them breakfast as the kobold relaxed in the warm embrace some more. A cute frog girl cooking breakfast while a hot guy held her close? She NEEDED more of this for sure!

She couldn’t help but let out a small, happy chirp as she pressed back into the human a little bit more, only to soon feel his skilled, strong hands rub her belly some. She squeaked and froze, wondering how awake he really was as he gently pet her body. She was loving every gentle caress, every touch, but he and the frog were together. Right?

She let out a small breath and gave up. Slowly slipping out of the bed and shivering as the cold morning air hit her body. She shivered a bit, but fought the temptation to slide back up against Jack as she stretched her own little body out before slowly going down the stairs to chase after the new smell of breakfast that was now drifting through the air.

“Morning.” Nelva said as she tended to some sausage, bacon, and eggs that were sizzling in a pan.

“Mornin’.” Tezira mumbled back before sitting down at the table. Her body now far more sluggish as the warmth was drained from her.

“Didn’t expect you to get out of bed so fast.” Nelva admitted as she continued to cook.

“Well. Felt wrong being in bed alone with your man. Besides, he was getting a little bit… hands on.” She admitted as she toyed with her tail.

“Ah. Yeah. He can get a little bit handsy when he sleeps. Still. If I would have minded that I would have waited for you to get up first.” Nelva admitted as she started to plate the first bit of food.

“Wait, why would you not mind?” The kobold asked as she sat up straight in her chair with her tail flicking side to side. This was quite the change of events!

“Well, we talked it out and we felt you were a bit… starved for attention.” Nelva admitted as she put the hot food down in front of the kobold. “I will stay his first no matter what though.” She added pointing at the kobold before she started up another batch of breakfast. “It is cute though. He had no idea about polygamy and the idea of multiple girls quite overwhelming at first. I think he still hasn’t gotten his mind fully around it.”

Tezira slowly chewed her sausage as she thought over what the frog was saying. “Well, what about you?” She asked glancing over at the other woman. “What do you think about me?”

“I think you are cute, overworked, and remind me more than I care to admit about Jack already. Honestly? I am more worried about the trouble I think you two can get into together than any romance.” She confessed as she slipped a bit of meat into her mouth.

Tezira let out a chuckle and started to eat a bit more as she thought things through. “Hey. Mind if I join your group when you go into the dungeons? I never really got the chance to really delve and I kinda want to test my skills.” She asked as she poked around her food.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.

“Sure. Although I do know you are mostly after trying to get closer to me and Jack.” The frog pointed out with a laugh. “No need to hide it. I am not an idiot. It is fine. I think it would be fun to get to know you too. Besides, having someone actually a little sneaky would probably help our lineup.” She admitted. “The boys and their armor are not exactly quiet. Their weapons are even louder on top of that!” She added with a chuckle. “I doubt the Gnoll will be much better on top of that.”

The kobold nodded as she thought the lineup through. “Yeah, that seems like it would be a good idea.” She thought out loud as she munched on some of the bacon. “Scouting is always a good idea. I don’t know much about the human weapons and abilities though so I can’t compare myself to them.”

“Oh, they have lots of strange ranged weapons and some devices that cause lots of damage. All of them make a ton of noise to the point you will have to wear ear protection around them though.” Nelva warned as she finished her own cooking. Since Jack wasn’t up yet she sat down across from the kobold and calmly started to munch on her own food. She would cook for him whenever he decided to wake up, but for now her food was warm.

“Is the stuff… powerful?” The kobold asked with a mischievous gleam in her eyes as she thought about what she had just learned.

“Very. Blew apart some rats we were fighting and one explosive thing ripped apart stone with ease AND just made some rats vanish.”

The kobold thought a bit more as she sipped her water, a smile slowly growing on her face. “Sayyyy do you think they will, ya know, let US use those kinda things in the dungeon?” She asked with a wide smile on her face.

The frog let out a groan knowing very well the cat was already out of the bag and it was too late to cram it back in. That, and the smile the kobold had was very concerning. “Maybe. I didn’t get to use any of it yet, but I didn’t exactly ask or get the chance to.”

The kobold nodded letting out a rather fiendish giggle as the frog munched on some of the rather delicious bacon. “Note taken. I will most certainly have to ask. New toys and items area always much loved by my kind. I just prefer the noisier sort.” She explained getting a groan out of the frog.

“Oh what evils have I unleashed?” She asked herself looking over at the kobold who started to launch into a few questions about the guns and explosives determined to learn as much as she could as fast as possible. The frog gal quickly tried to answer as best as she could, fetching her journal and showing some of the sketches she had made to help illustrate the strange things she was desperately trying to describe.

After awhile of the back and forth a groan could be heard up the stairs from the bedroom. “Seems our human has finally woken up.” Nelva ribbited out in relief hoping the human would be able to explain things better. She finished up what little was left of her own meal before she got up and started to cook for the newly awoken Jack.

Jack thudded down the stairs with a long yawn and quickly made his way over to Nelva. “Its been a really fuckin’ long time since someone cooked for me in the morning. Thanks hun.” He grumbled out with a smile before kissing her on her lips before going to the table and sitting down.

“Mornin Tezira. Sorry, but no kiss for you yet.” He mumbled out with a small chuckle as he poured himself some water from a pitcher that was on the table.

“Its alright. We did just meet and your beloved is in the kitchen.” She answered getting a flustered croak from the frog girl.

He chuckled hearing the noise from his girlfriend before looking back over at the kobold. “Who knows what the future holds. Thanks for letting us stay with you last night, and hope waking up in bed between me and her wasn’t too jarring for you. You were so asleep that you could barely even mumble by the time we were all heading to bed. Did catch on to what you wanted when you grabbed onto us and pointed at the bed though.”

She let out a small groan. “Sorry. You both were just so comfy I barely could stay awake around you both. Haven’t exactly been getting good sleep recently either.” She confessed with a small chuckle. “But no. I didn’t mind at all. In fact, I kinda hope we could all three do that again sometime.” She admitted with a small nod.

“Sure. Hearing you two sleeping next to me was rather cute. That, and why would I turn down sleeping with two amazing women at the same time.”

He laughed seeing the kobold’s tail stiffen up and heard the frog let out another shy ribbit. They both had their own unique charms that was for sure.

“Soooooo Jack.” The kobold slid a little closer once the shock of what he had said wore off. Nobody had ever really been so bold towards her like that and it had thrown her off. “I was wondering if I could join you and your group when you go delving in the local dungeons. Never really been and I kinda want to know what it is like.”

He shrugged. “If your people don’t mind then sure. I imagine some, probably Pol, will get a little upset at their leader going into danger like that even if you did kill a dragon at one point.”

She let out a sigh. “Yeah, Pol will probably bitch and hiss for awhile, but I am HIS boss so its not like he can exactly stop me, you know?” She pointed out with a smug smile.

“Fair enough.” He answered with a shrug kissing Nelva’s arm as she put his food down in front of him.

“So…” Tezira tapped two claws together as a flustered Nelva sat down next to him. “I heard you have some things that make some pretty loud noises and some powerful weapons. Would it be possible to let me try a few out?” She asked in the sweetest voice she could summon.

Jack chuckled and munched on a bit of bacon. “Well. Lets meet back up with John and talk it out. It would probably be a good idea for all three of you ladies to get some gun safety training if you are going to be hanging around us.” He admitted with a shrug.
