Chapter 4: The Dungeon

As soon as we entered the door I felt a gust of air suck me and my sister inside and within the blink of an eye, we were in the dungeon. Or were we? I noticed that my hand was clenching the air. “TESHA!! WHERE ARE YOU?!” I shouted with all my might. It was at that moment I heard the sound of a sword clashing against something.

I ran straight ahead until I saw a turn. I noticed that blood was trickling past the corner of the turn and charged in. What I saw was amazing. Well for my sister. She was standing on top of a pile of corpses and then she shouted “Hey! Brother is that you?”. “Yep it’s me” I replied. “How did you kill the monsters so fast?” I asked her. “Well they kind of just ran towards me. Besides these are goblins. Even weak delvers can defeat them easily” she replied.

“I see. Are there any more?” I asked her. “Nope. Not that I can see” she said. As soon as she had finished uttering those words a liquid from the roof(presumably drool) dropped on her face. “TESHA! ABOVE YOU!” I told her. She saw the creature and then it jumped down on her. The beast looked like a goblin but it was bigger and had longer claws. Tesha couldn’t do much with the goblin on her. So I just impaled the goblin with a plastic spike.

She then said “Phew. That was a close one. I think that was an assassin type goblin brother”. “What’s that?” I asked her. “You really should have done more research before entering a dungeon. An assassin type goblin is essentially a goblin with less hp but it has a stealth boost and damage bonus for surprise attacks” she replied. At that moment the system activated and showed the words ‘Level up(3)’. “Oh, I levelled up to level 3. What level are you?” I asked Tesha.

“You lovely little sister here is… Level 15” she said whilst pointing at herself. “And who helped you?" I asked her. “What? You don’t think I can take care of the goblins by myself?” she questioned me back. “Yes” I answered her bluntly. “You think too lowly of me,” she said. “Well whatever. We should probably continue deeper. We can’t leave until we defeat the boss” I retorted. “At least he knows that,” my sister mumbled under her breath, thinking that I hadn’t heard her.

We continued walking but there weren’t many goblins there after. Only goblin corpses. “Looks like someone was here before us,” I told my sister. We continued walking until we saw a man. He was wearing expensive looking black armour with red sigils and markings all over it. He had a spear which was black with a flag at the end that had a crest. He had messy red hair and red eyes which made him look like your generic psychopath.

“Tesha, do you know what that crest means?” I asked her. The crest were two noodle dragons which intertwined with each other whilst breathing a giant fire. She thought for a moment. “I think that’s the Twin Dragon Guild,” she said. “Boy are you right!” the man with armour said. “So if you both wanna live I’d suggest you leave this place. It’s too dangerous for kids like you” he proclaimed with a slightly threatening edge to his voice. “I’m sorry. But we can’t leave for two reasons. Number 1, we need to kill the boss. Number 2, we need the money” I said.

“Well if that’s the case… DIE!”. He lunged towards me with his spear stabbing me in the gut. “SHIT!” I shouted. This caused me to head towards a wall in the cave. I erased the spear from existence and then said “My impact will be nullified making me take no damage. And you, armour man, will die from a heart attack”. As soon as I said those words the man in armour started grasping his heart and then he fell down to the floor. “Our safety comes first” I told my sister. “What just happened? Didn’t you just get slammed into a wall. How are you still walking?” she asked me. “Oh right… I told you I had causality control, but I never explained to you how it works and what it can do. Basically, I can warp reality with little to no limit”.

“WHAT?! Such a cheat ability exists?! Man, I'm jealous now… But brother. Is that man really dead?” replied Tesha. At that moment I had just realised what I had done. “I… I… killed someone. How the hell did I do that?” I said while looking at my bloodied hands. It was at that moment I remembered. I still had a spear in my stomach. I pulled it out and healed myself. “Welp Tesha, We should get a move along,” I told her. “Did you seriously just pull that spear out of your gut and then just casually heal yourself?” she asked me not expecting an answer.

We continued walking deeper and deeper into the cave and it got dark. Really dark. At one point I had to give us both the ability to see in the dark. We walked until the cave’s roof kept getting higher. At one point the cave’s roof stopped getting higher and then we saw a ginormous arch which was entwined with wood. Then inside the arch we saw a goblin with a chieftain’s headdress kneeling at what appeared to be a giant statue of a man in full plate armour.

“Soooo which one is the boss?” I asked my sister. “It’s the one kneeling to the statue. It’s known as a goblin elder and they are quite problematic. They have magic, quite a high amount of HP and they are pretty strong too. But they are big and we can use their size to our advanta-”. Before letting Tesha finish I had already walked past the arch and the goblin elder stopped kneeling. It got up and started charging towards me.
