I managed to fall asleep but my sleep was so bad that I kept tossing and turning. Apparently I woke my sister up a few times. When morning came, the bag under my eyes was so prominent that people could think that I was wearing makeup.

My sister woke up with similar bags under her eyes and commented on the bags under my eyes. “Brother, your eyes look so weird”. “Tesha your eyes don’t look too good yourself” I said as I got down from my bunk. “Well, we better go freshen up so that we don’t look like ghosts when the police start interrogation. I went to one of the public bathrooms there and while I was taking a piss, I saw for the first time the system.

Although most people would have seen the system if they had abilities, for some reason I didn’t. The system showed me a message. ‘Do you wish to accept your second power? Since there are so many people who are still alive you will have to guess what your ability is to use it’. I said ‘Not right now’. The system then popped up with another message. ‘Do you wish to decline your second ability?’. I clicked ‘No’ swiftly so as to not lose my chance at becoming stronger. I then clicked ‘Accept’ on the menu to accept my second ability.

When I was done in the restroom the system gave me a quest. It asked me to do 10 pushups, 10 sit ups and 10 squats. These quests supposedly get harder the more you them but for a start, I thought it wasn’t a bad amount. I proceeded to do it confusing Tesha and after 15 minutes. I had finished. It was at that moment my name and Tesha’s name were called into the interrogation room.

We had to split off so I told her “Don’t worry. We’ll be back together after this”. And that was all it took to convince her. I then entered the room. “Suspect NO. 367. Dom Maximus. Dom please answer the questions we are about to ask you truthfully and honestly” the policeman demanded. “Since you know my name isn’t it common courtesy to tell me yours?” I asked the policeman.

“My name is Jake. That’s all you need to know for now. Now our first question. What were you doing just before the incident?” he asked. “I was just walking back to our home with my sister after we went to an arcade,” I replied.

“How did the dragon appear?” he asked. “Well, I’m not too sure on that one since it appeared from behind a street. Most of the people that could have seen it are probably dead too”. I replied. “Well if that’s the case I don’t think asking you about the other monster is going to be too helpful. Most of the others just gave descriptions. Okay Dom you're dismissed".

I left the room and was then leaning against one of the walls while waiting for Tesha. I picked up my phone and forgot that it probably wouldn’t work. I quickly pocketed it back and that’s when Tesha came barging out of her room door. “Brother!” she said happily. “Hey Tesha,” I replied. “So what kind of questions did they ask you?” I asked her back.

“They asked me about basically everything which happened yesterday! It was so boring and it was a touchy matter too!” she exclaimed. “Oii, you two, keep it down!” a policeman exclaimed. Me and Tesha started walking back to our bunk. I then decided to show Tessa the system since she also hadn’t seen it prior to this since you have to be at least 13 to get a skill.

She was shocked. “Since when did you have the system brother?” she asked me. “I got it this morning,” I replied to her. I was feeling slightly more relaxed after the second power menu showed up. At least hopefully I would be able to protect my sister and I.

After completing the first quest one of the letters to my abilities' name was revealed. The first letter being ‘C’. A person only has three guesses per day to guess their power and if you get any correct letters which are in the correct position in your guess it will be added into the full word.

I guessed “Caudal Flight” first. It made the letter ‘A’ ’ show up in the blanks in that specific order. The one space was left and ‘A’ was put there. The blank currently is CA_ _A_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ “Damn, pretty good for a first try”. The reason I thought of Caudal Flight of all things first was because when we went to the arcade Tesha and I played a few rounds of ‘Super-Fast Hedgehog’.

I asked Tesha “Should I guess one more time, Tesha?”. “Yes please brother,” she replied. “Ok here goes nothing. Causality Control ”. I saw all the letters pop up and then the System said “You are the first person to have unlocked your second ability. Do you wish to put your name in the HALL OF FAME?”. I declined. I didn’t want unnecessary attention. “BUT WHAT THE LITERAL HELL!” I thought to myself.

“I wasn’t expecting it to be Causality Control!” I said out loud. After my excitement had somewhat faded away, my sister asked me what Causality Control can do. I said “Basically anything. What do you want to eat for breakfast, Tesha?”. She replied “Bread with Nutella,”. I then tested my ability out for the first time.

I wanted the guy who slept under our bunk to come to us and give us a loaf of bread with Nutella for the reason that he didn’t like it. After a few minutes he arrived and sat under his bunk and handed it over to my sister. “Wow… It really works,” I said. I handed the bread with Nutella to my sister. “Thank You, brother,” she said. “You’re welcome Tesha,” I replied.

I sat thinking about what I should do now. I essentially had a reality-warping type skill. If people found that out they’d try to capture me and put me on a leash. I needed to hide my skill for the longest possible amount of time possible. I then told my sister “This is our little secret. If anyone asks you what skill I have, tell them I have plastic manipulation”. “Ok," she replied.

I laid down on my bunk. Then a boy in a red, motorcyclist jacket appeared. He had spikey light blonde hair. “Nah,” I thought to myself. But then my suspicions were confirmed when I saw his tomato red eyes. It was Howell. Howell Rowe.
