6-Rising Tension

6-Rising Tension

It was as Phynn and Cliff were building what would become the Grand Library that they heard shouting from the City entrance.

Running forward Cliff used Earth Manipulation to speed himself up since his agility was so slow.

Phynn though who had an AGI stat of 1025 just sped across the cobbled streets.

Getting to the entrance Cliff saw an injured Ram clutching at a slash on his torso.

“Ram! What happened?” asked Cliff

“a group of seirei and humans showed up, A human started yelling at me about being a demonic freak and to hand the Holy metal over to the group. When I was slow in responding they swung a sword at me. That was when Phynn and Maij showed up, they chased the group off before following.”

Cliff Picked Ram up and went to the hospital and found Shien one of the herbalists that has become a Pill healer.

Pill healers were a class combination of Herbalist+Alchemist+Acolyte. The Pill Healer could create concoctions of medicine in pill form which when consumed would act immediately. Pills could destroy poison, heal scrapes or even restore lost limbs.

The only problem was that they were limited by the types of resources they had.

Thankfully Shien has taken it upon herself to write down what combination of plans make what kind of pill.

--

After leaving Ram with Shien, Cliff then went back to the Entrance. There he saw a bloody Phynn with a few cuts on him. Beside him he also had a Human beaten and bound in rope.

Phynn growled in anger “I told you! we should have killed those Fanatic Seirei! Now they come with bigger numbers and will kill us all!!”

Cliff flinched slightly knowing that this attack could have been averted but the fool he was wanted to keep a hold of Earth morals.

Turning to the Human he spoke “why are you helping the Seirei?”

“The Seirei are messengers of God! They will help Humans stand in their proper place of the world! All of these Devil worshiping freaks that you cavort with, will soon find themselves below our boot!”

Cliff hissed in anger and kicked the man in the stomach.

“Phynn! Throw him in the Prison! We will Interrogate him later. Maij can you call everyone outside back to the mountain and protect the entrance? I will start assembling an Iron gate, we need to wall the entrance off to keep intruders Out.”

Maij and Phynn both nodded and went about their tasks, as Cliff ran to his forge, he could only bemoan the fact that he was so slow even using his earth manipulation.

After arriving at the Forge Cliff Used his Mass produce tool Skill which now allowed the creation of large objects in the average quality. Using it he created Bars and bands that would be bolted together to create the large gate.

Yes, he could have made a better quality but right now speed was the name of the game.

Bundling all of the pieces together and placing them in a cart along with heavy chain, Cliff rushed to the entrance.

Once at the entrance he saw Rein ordering the other Anan to bring quarried stone to the entrance, while others prepared the foundation and Mountain side.

With enhanced strength and special skills, the work went quickly and within the hour the city now had a finished Gate entrance.

Herding everyone inside for the rest of the day, Phynn and Cliff stood watch on the wall.

Standing there staring into the Fields and forest Cliff began to ponder on his future.

“There is no doubt that I will need to kill, those seirei and the Humans that join them will not stop unless killed. I will need to harden my heart or else all my new friends and everything I have built will be destroyed. But to kill and protect I will need weapons and Armour. I have just changed my class and hopefully I can upgrade it quickly enough.”

Nodding to himself, Cliff then summoned a hunk of earth from the ground below and began manipulating it into different shapes, hardening and softening as he went.

“Look out there! That is a lot more than the original 4 we exiled!” shouted Phynn

Looking in the distance it could be seen that a mixed group of 30 humans and seirei were approaching at a fast clip. They all were armed with swords and spears but had very little armour.

When the group were less than 20 meters away the First Seirei through their spear followed by the others. Phynn and Cliff hid behind the parapets. The spear throwers missed from the beginning and all 5 spears became embedded in the new wall.

Seeing the chipped stone Cliff could only make a mind note to find a way to improve the strength of the stone since everyone on this planet will have Increased abilities.

Looking over the parapet Cliff then turned the clump of earth in his hands into 15 separate balls the size of a musket lead. Taking aim, he shot each of the swordsmen.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

This seemed to stun them and gave a chance for Phynn to loose a few arrows.

Within minutes 8 of the attackers were killed.

The group hesitated, and it was not till Cliff prepared another hail of earth balls that the group began to retreat.

Wanting to kill one more, Cliff compacted 15 earth balls into 1 compressed stone ball, he took aim and blew a hole through the biggest Seirei Spearman.

When the remaining 21 attackers were well out of range, Cliff simply slumped down on the ground

“They won’t give up! We will need to begin for a potential siege, how close are you to changing into a weaponsmith?” asked Phynn

“Unfortunately, just yesterday I changed into the Mountain Saint, though I think some tools like the Axes and Pitchforks should work for now, so what do you think if after this class I take Armour smith before going into weapons?”

“I think that makes sense, I could ask around and have someone become a weaponsmith temporarily to help you?”

“that would be great but, I would really prefer people to choose classes that aid in a profession that they are interested in.”

“I understand ya Cliff, but we simply don’t have enough people to cover what needs to be done. If only we knew what happened to Fost!”

“Anyway, on to other topics, I have noticed that the fields seem to be replanted, how has the harvest with the farming skills been?”

“Yeah, those skills are amazing! Not only do they have skills to enhance growth rate but also yield size! That pound of beans you had has turned into 25 pounds which have been replanted, along with that we now have 60 pounds wheat, 60 pounds oats and 50 pounds barley. 30 pounds each we have replanted for another harvest. Ram has also been chipping away at the forest to expand our farms he is hoping to have 6 acres for next years crops”

“Those are impressive numbers for the limited amount of grain we had! I think it might be best to separate what we need for next years seed from the excess, which we will eat.”

Phynn nodded in understanding. “Sounds good, I will also rotate with Maij to stand watch for future attackers, before you get too busy could you also make a warning bell?”

Giving the affirmative, Cliff began jogging back to his forge.

For 5 Days all was silent

Cliff found out that to earn experience for the Mountain saint all he had to do was work inside a mountain, be it smithing, mining or even moving material. It all helped level up his class as long as it was inside the mountain.

Today, Cliff was Digging into the mine pit, usually it was Marn who became a miner that focused on increasing the depth, but fortunately Phynn convinced Marn to become a Weapon smith, So Cliff decided to give him a chance to experiment with his class.

Unfortunately, since Marn did not choose the smelting class he before hand it was only possible to get quality product using pre-smelted ingots. So, seeing the problem, Cliff made sure that Marn understood that the next class he should choose would be Smelter.

Deeper and deeper Cliff dug

At certain locations his skill would indicate a large cluster of ores which he would mark off for future excavation before he went deeper.

Fortunately, with his Earth Manipulation skill he could use the pit walls as an elevator instead of needing ladders or even a pulley system.

Deeper still until 2 kilometers of depth have passed.

Feeling he was deep enough; Cliff began to use his earth manipulation to mine to where his sensor where pointing.

Stone and Earth were removed and compressed into small blocks.

The first ore vein he approached was Identified as grom

Grom

Metal from Ranid, highly resistant to Mana but weak physically.

Continuing on his mining mission he found more veins of Grom, lots of iron, copper, gold, lead.

Looking at the Grom, Cliff could not help but remember what he discovered about the Gant that the Seirei deemed as a holy ore. After some experimentation it was discovered that Gant was inherently softer than Copper, it also had no heat tolerance at all. But passing Mana through the metal it could compare to Tungsten, the more mana it received the stronger Gant could become. So yes, Cliff could really see the fervent desires of the Seirei making sense.

Though knowing Gants ability was very strong, Cliff preferred using other metals since if someone exhausted their mana not only would the tool or weapon be useless but that could very well cost their life.

Besides Gant, Grom and Coppon which was stronger than copper but had the same melting point, many other ores were discovered

Ican- A Metallic liquid that produces heat when mana is ran through

Salan- 50X Stronger and lighter than Iron, but if in contact with Mana will erode.

Puron- is a porous metal that after smelting is useless but in ore form can purify water that has gone through it removing all debris and viruses

Stalt- insanely dense and heavy metal that weighs 500 pounds for an ounce size of metal, withstand Incredible trauma and if Mana is passed through the metal, is self healing.

Myth- is a soft metal that can’t hold an edge but is highly Mana conductive.

These were but few of the Many dozens of Metals that Cliff has discovered.

Month later

After the first attack no other signs of the seirei were noticed but this did not assuage the worries of the Mountain dwellers. They continued to gather resources and improve their Class and Home.

Cliff is Halfway done his Mountain Saint Class due to the immense amount of Exp required for each level. With the lull in in violence he was grateful. Since Cliff has had to dig out a new floor level that would just be dedicated to Storing all resources since the Warehouses on the First level are now all full.

There are tons of ingots, lumber, leather, Paper, tools and so much more.

But today was a shake up of the usual. While Ram was working on expanding his fields he encountered a group of wanderers.

This group consisted of 55 people from each of the 4 Planets, the leader was a Gni of Bos. In total there were 25 Gni, 10 Gaa, 15 humans, 5 Bruge.

Gni looked similar to the Goblins of Harry potter, they also shared an uncanny love of Jewell making, were adept trackers and were excellent archers

Bruge were from Lars and were Minotaurs resembling those from Narnia. They were a militant society often acting as mercenaries or Farmers of frontier towns.

Cliff was quite pleased with this group even the humans, they did not show an ounce of racism and each seemed to have their role, so it was not hard to offer them a home under the mountain, though he did warn about the Seirei before they made a decision.

“Ah those Pointy ear twits?! They are constantly going on how they are the chosen of the Heaven, us gni will join you in defending the city. But thank you for letting us know.” Said the Gni leader. Along with that statement the rest of the group nodded, the Bruge even offered to do guard duty.

6 months pass

It has been a Year since Fost and his group left, and the Mountain People have given up hope that they were still alive.

But the city is now prospering, many harvests have come off and been replanted. With the help of more people, it was also possible to quickly increase the size of the fields from 4 acres to 20 acres which is a huge increase, since on earth it was common to only clear 2 acres a year without machinery.

During this Time Phynn and Maij have become engaged and Maij is planning to build an Academy for learning mundane skills and Mana usage. Rein has put her all in helping, both scribing down many copies of Mathematics, language dictionaries and manuals about many different classes.

Rein also discovered that the increased stats granted by classes also affect the way people age. After lots of observation it was discovered that for every 50 CON you could gain 5 years of life expectancy. Though that was only a theory and could not be proven until more study was conducted.
