The next day, The three of them would then arrive at a large metal wall with guards all over the place. They walked up to the check-in station to enter the city.
"Can't believe we made it to Kyoto... It almost doesn't feel real..." Matsushima said. Kamiko nodded,
"This is where our dreams begin..." Kamiko said. Shu stood there, looking at the wall.
"I could've gotten in here just fine..." Shu said. Matsushima looked back at Shu,
"Sure you could, these walls are heavily guarded and have multiple thick layers..." Matsushima said. Shu looked at Matsushima in confusion.
"What if a demon just flew over the wall...?" Shu asked.
"Can't... There's an electromagnetic field that destroys anything that comes in contact with it..." Matsushima said. Shu nodded as they reached the security gate.
"Ah, if it isn't Private General Shoichi Matsushima, how were the front lines you wanted to be a part of so desperately...?" One of the security guards asked. Shu raised a brow,
"Private General...?" Shu asked. Matsushima chuckled,
"It was pretty scary but it was a good learning experience..." Matsushima said. The guard laughed, pressing the button to open a small door to enter the city. The doors slowly slid open and the three walked through. The city was cleaner than Demon territory but still lower class.
"I imagined it to be cleaner..." Shu said quietly. Matsushima sighed,
"Tokyo's the cleanest... This is where all the low-class citizens live..." Matsushima said. Shu raised a brow,
"Then why the hell are you here...?" Shu asked. Matsushima sighed,
"I'm stationed here..." Matsushima said. Shu looked confused,
"I get it..." Kamiko said. Matsushima looked surprised,
"A Private General is the lowest rank of General..." Kamiko said. Matsushima looked at the ground in embarrassment. Kamiko put her hand on Matsushima's shoulder.
"Don't worry... We'll prove to them we can be useful..." Kamiko said. Matsushima nodded.
"Well... Let's go to the Military's Kyoto headquarters... And propose the idea in a meeting..." Matsushima said. Kamiko nodded, looking back at Shu.
"You coming along...?" Kamiko asked. Shu looked up at her,
"Hm... Oh, yeah sure... I want to ask about my sister..." Shu said. Kamiko nodded,
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
"Alright..."
"Lead the way," Kamiko said. Matsushima nodded and the three started walking down the sidewalk. A few minutes later, the three of them would be standing in a dark room with a light shining over them.
"Private General Matsushima, who are these visitors you have brought us?" An old deep male voice asked. Kamiko stepped forward, bowing.
"My name is Kamiko Samada..." Kamiko said.
"And why are you in our presence...?" An older female voice asked. Kamiko scoffed, looking at a screen with the number four on it.
"I am here in the presence you all to propose an idea..." Kamiko said.
"Proceed..." came a voice from the screen displaying the number three. Kamiko nodded,
"I am the student of the former and late War General Hitomi Katayama..." Kamiko said. There would be quiet murmuring coming from the speakers.
"Is there any proof of you being her student...?" Number 4 asked. Kamiko nodded, revealing her left arm. She had a tattoo that wrapped around her wrist with a unique symbol on the front of it. It then started to glow with Chatzukoru.
"We were never aware War General Katayama had a student..." Number 1 said. Kamiko nodded,
"Yes, sir that was the plan when she took me in... She wanted me to be her successor if she ever passed away or went missing..." Kamiko said.
"What says that you are a worthy successor to Ms. Katayama...?" Number 6 asked. Kamiko sighed,
"What other way to prove myself is there without showing you results?" Kamiko asked.
"Exactly what Katayama would say, may she rest in peace... Now... What is your proposal...?" Number 1 asked. Kamiko cleared her throat,
"Me, along with Private General Shoichi Matsushima here would like to create a new division of your military..." Kamiko said.
"What does this division provide to us...?" Number 1 asked.
"We want to create a small group of about seven people to push back against the demons..." Kamiko said.
"I don't see how that's different than what we're doing now but on a smaller scale..." Number 2 said. Kamiko nodded,
"Yes, but you guys are defending while attacking... The difference is, we're going to be attacking on their front..." Kamiko said.
"Attacking their land... That's a dangerous bargain..." Number 5 said.
"Not really, we already have 3 of our members which includes me and the private general..." Kamiko said. Shu looked up in slight surprise,
"What? What does this have to do with me?" Shu asked quietly.
"You came along, didn't you... Even, that'll make it easier to find your sister..." Kamiko said. Shu looked at Kamiko, gritting his teeth slightly. He then nodded, leaning back against the wall once more.
"How many personnel are you requesting...?" Number 1 asked.
"About seven in total including us..." Kamiko said.
"Seven? And you say you're going to take the fight to them...?" Number 4 asked. Kamiko nodded,
"This seems like all bark and no bite to me..." Number 3 said.
"These results will prove themself... I just request a couple more things..." Kamiko said.
"If we go through with this, what is it?" Number 2 said.
"The last seven need to be between the ages of 15 to 19... We need our own living, training, and eating facilities..." Kamiko requested.
"Hmmm... We have no land we can use..." Number 5 said.
"Then we'll recapture demon land to make room, for now, let us use the ones here..." Kamiko said. The higher-ups all spoke to each other quietly,
"I authorize this division..." Number 1 said. Kamiko smiled,
"Thank you very much..." Kamiko said. Matsushima and Kamiko bowed as the screen shut off. The lights turned on in the room revealing it to be a plain grey room with 6 screens against a wall.
"This is it..."
"... The start of my dream..." Matsushima internalized. He smiled, looking over at Shu, who was leaning against the wall, asleep. Matsushima smiled, looking over at Kamiko who had a tear falling down the side of her face.
